No, he wasn’t afraid. Because even if the man beside him could not see him, the young wolf knew that not far away in the dark stood Shaggydog watching them, with eyes alart; ready to strike if the moment allowed him to. His heartbeat, together with Rickons; so the young boy who felt the blood down his cheek wasn’t afraid of the man. Pherheps he should, he could not recall seeing anyone this big before– not even father. Whom Rickon always looked up to, and saw as the savior of all. He had tripped, running from what he had belived to be guards looking for him. He and his soul-friend had been running; since Osha was taken; since they left Bran. “not long” he replied. Holding a fair amount of distance between to two of them. “I fell” Rickon added, showing the young boy in him. Being on his own, had made him fears and wild; and yet he was still just a young boy alone right now. @cureuba

Jaime sat across from the youngest Stark, the hall of Winterfell bustled around them as the effort to prepare for the war to come and the Long Night continued around them. A part of him felt odd, sitting there, more or less accepted by the people around him despite everything that happened.

Jaime was not privy to what exactly the boy had endured, all he knew came from talk of others around him. “Can you wield a sword?” The knight asked, curious more than anything. Would the boy be with them on the front lines ?

Green eyes fell to the direwolf that laid near the boy’s feet. The beast was massive, so was Snow’s direwolf. The creatures caused an uneasiness in Jaime, but despite that feeling he would be grateful to have the wolf on the battlefield.

Shaggy never left his side, and Rickon was more than grateful for it. Surly, naming his massive beast of a wolf Shaggydog had been a child’s doing –– and yet Rickon never regretting it; and even still to this day, the wolf would live up to his own name. The youngest Stark was as wild as the black wolf next to him. Both the wolf and Rickon had been quite unsure about this man sitting there; he knew who he was and yet there he sat in Winterfell without anyone doing him any harm. 

If Rickon told him to, his direwolf would attack him; and nobody besides Rickon would be able to stop him not even Jon. However, at the question that came, the young boy looked up and got an interested look on his face. “yes” -– at least he sort of did. Things had not truly worked out for the youngest of Lord Eddard Stark’s children. Growing up, he had always told Rickon that he’d grown up to be a knight and a bannerman for his oldest brother Robb. 

“we know how to fight” and in the same moment he said so, the black wolf made a snarling sound to make a bigger point out of Rickon’s words.

Au where Rickon survives but the arrow hits his spine so he’s alive but paralyzed when Bran gets back to Winterfell and the first thing Rickon does is squeeze his hand and tells them that they aren’t dead.
