Masie stirs and yawns. She rubs at her eyes as she wakes up. She looks around and looks at and she lights up at sight at the embassy. The pillars that hold up the building tall enough to allow crabfolk and the merfolk tails to move around without being impeded. The crabfolk especially since they are bigger than her dad who was the tallest person that she new. Even uncle Hercules wasn’t as big as dad, and he wasn’t as strong as dad as he couldn’t move if he had his pet turtle Kochýli on him and dad could pick her up and so could mum. So he wasn’t as strong as dad.
The late afternoon sunlight bounces of the tiles and makes the tiles seem to glow worth the mosaic of patterns showing cities atop crabs with different types of water dwelling races around each one. Some more human than others. Mum told her when they come up to the surface that people are scared of things that don’t look human and will take them away forever. So she needs to pretend to be a human to make sure she isn’t taken away.
“LADY MASIE! YOU’RE SAFE! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!” A woman in a green chiton dress runs over frantically. “WE’VE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR YOU YOUNG LADY.” She says with a stern expression her black hair matched her pretty black eyes. Masie had once seen a pretty crystal that looked like her eyes once and she wanted to get some for her Nanny because it looks like her eyes.
“Sorry Nanny, I dropped the music box and had to find it… Lady Ori helped me find it she’s my new friend and she is a good swimmer.” Masie replies with her head down showing she was truely sorry. Nanny was her very best friend and seeing her worried and upset about looking for her made her feel very upset. She didn’t want to make her friends upset. “I won’t go away again without telling someone where I’m going again. I’m sorry for making you worried.” She says solemnly.
“I’ll hold you to that promise young lady as you are- you have responsibilities and you need to make sure that you can be with your parents to do those responsibilities. Your mother and father are worried sick they are talking about sending the guards to look for you. We need to take you back to them right now.” Nanny says sternly she suddenly eyes Orianna and says, “thank you for looking out for Lady Masie I will take her to her parents right away. If you would like a reward you can come back in an hours time and the ah our delegates will be able to see you. I’ll personally escort you to them. They will need to make sure their daughter is safe and sound before allowing you into their house.”
“Lady Ori is a good person who helped me. So I should give the reward. Which is my necklace. You should have it because it will keep you safe.” Masie states and looks at Nanny and then extends her hands to be picked up by her.
Masie sniffled and went to say where her mum and dad were staying. But she remembered that it was supposed to be secret. But Lady Ori was helping her and she said that she would keep her safe from the wrong orb… maybe if she took her to near where she stayed she wouldn’t get into trouble. But then maybe the orb would come back. She sniffled again before making up her mind.
“We’re staying at the Shel’don Embassy. Father and Mother have work there.” She said quietly, “it’s the big house near the park land and it has the pillars like home but not like home the is no crab.” She said as she buried her face into Ori’s shoulder. Waves of tiredness rolling over her replacing the fear. When she got home and after she was done being told off she was gonna…. Take a nap… she thinks as she slowly succumbs to sleep.

Masie hugged Ori tightly once she was in her arms. She trembled as the tears flowed freely.
At the words in primordial and as Ori rubbed her back as well as using magic to get rid of the water she calmed herself slowly. Managing to steady herself to stop her tears.
Masie looks up at Ori’s face, “there was a glowing orb with wrong magic. It followed me and didn’t stop until you came back.” She replied back in soft primordial. “I want my dad and my mum.” She sniffles not caring that she didn’t use her offical words for them and buries her face into Ori’s shoulder. “And I want to go home,” she mumbles into it.

Masie smiles widely as Ori takes her necklace and watches her put it on. It looked like it belonged more with Ori than her. The green gem looked nice against her pretty clothes.
As that thought occurred to her, her eyes widened at the reply in primordial. Ori could be just like her, a triton, or maybe even a Selkie or a Locathah! As Ori walked forward she took a step towards where her new not human friend was going. Oh but she wasn’t supposed to leave this spot….. Maybe if she watches with her head under water once Ori goes underwater and takes human breaths she wouldn’t get in trouble. After all the water was up to her chest so it wasn’t like she’s moving into the water deeper. Just kneeling down will get her face under the water, and the currents here was just the ebb and flow of the small waves. So she would be perfectly safe putting her head under and she wouldn’t be disobeying Ori. A small smile forms on her face at her very smart thinking. Her Dad would be so proud that she is helping a friend and following the rules!
She didn’t have to wait to long before Ori dived. It was practiced motion that said she was as comfortable in the water as out of it. Ori did the pretend breath that she was told she must do when she dives and dove down again. But she didn’t come up again to pretend to breath… Maybe she could still see her under water? She slowly puts her head in the water and sees nothing. No fish, no crabs, no rays. It’s as if all the animals had left the area. Which is wrong because this area had so much life in it. Where did it go? Feeling of wrongness continued as she pulls her head out of the water looking around to see if she could figure out what’s making the wrong feeling happen.
As she scanned the area, a trick her uncle taught her, and she was very good at spotting him with this trick. She noticed something off. up in the sky was a small ball of light. But it wasn’t the sun it was very close. Close enough if she jumped up she could probably touch it… but the way it feels… the magic… it is wrong.
She takes a step back and the orb follows her still at the same height but keeping the same distance between her and it. She takes another step back it follows her. The worry that she had turns to icy fear and she turns around moving as quickly as she could with the water pulling back at her legs. She wades as fast as she can back to the shore. As the warm dry sand touches her sandals the feeling suddenly disappears.
She looks up and behind her to see the orb is gone. Leaving that section of the sky empty. The soft sounds of the soft breaking waves lapped quietly, there were no birds calling, no wind moving through the trees. It was too quiet.
At the sound of Ori’s ‘Got it’ she jumps and spins around. Ori smiling and holding the music box. Fearful tears pricked in her eyes as she dashes over to her. Slamming into Ori’s legs to hug them tightly not caring if she is still wet. Her heart still beating fast and she was shaking from the unknown orb in the sky with its scary wrong magic.

Oh! Yeah! That’s right she was supposed to be playing human! And humans don’t speak primordial… at least Ori was very nice about telling her off. But she would still tell her dad and mum that she accidentally let someone know that she speaks primordial.
“Ok Ori but be careful of the currents near the caves they are strong and will push you into the rocks if you are not careful. And I am sorry for speaking primordial. I didn’t mean to I just wanted to help. And I won’t tell people I promise, and I promise to stay here until you return.” She says with a small smile. Hopefully she will be back quickly.
Oh maybe she needs a good luck present for searching? Something that is special…. Like the necklace her dad and her made! “Ori before you go searching you can borrow my necklace. It is a good luck charm that will protect you. She wades a little into the water and takes off a small necklace that wouldn’t fit Ori’s neck but it could be a bracelet for her while she searched. The black braided cord necklace had a jade with a wave pattern engraved into it. It was her and her dad’s best work her mum had said. So it must be true.
“This will protect you Ori, please come back soon.” She says with a smile on her face and her hand outstretched holding the necklace out to her.

Masie marvelled at how easily Ori could lift her. She must be super strong just like her dad! But now is no time for distractions.
“Ok Ori I will ask them.” She looked to the school that was currently in front of them. She needed one to be at least paying attention. If she spoke now they could think she was speaking to all of them. Luckily there was a few that were darting sideways that she could wave over.
She waved at them and they turned to look at her. “Hello little friends, I am looking for a silver box with oyster shells on it. It is very shiny have you guys seen it? If you have can you please show us the way?” The Primordial words always sounded so pretty to Masie. It always sounded like the waves on the ocean, either rough or soft. It was calming, she loved it when her mum would sing songs in it.
The fish turned around and started to dart off to the deeper water off to where there was a shelves of coral. It was where the ships would smash if they didn’t know the way through the currents. It didn’t really make sense why it was there. The currents weren’t pointing that way. Maybe Ori would come with her since the currents that way could be a little strong. And she was a good swimmer but even the mighty whales can be felled by a really strong current.
“Lady Ori it looks like they are going to the coral shelf. There is some stronger currents there I’ll point them out to you. Oh I forgot to ask can you swim really good? I can swim really good but if you can’t I will go by myself. The fish will show me the way.” She knows if Ori is human she wouldn’t be able to swim as good as her or as fast. And she would need to breath air often which would be a problem if a current got her. Maybe she should just go by herself later? A thoughtful frown appears on her face as she is still looking at the water.

Masie smiles, her new friend called her Miss Masie. That means she can use call her Ori now! After all people who call her Miss are people that look after her and play games with her. And they allow her to call them by nicknames with no titles. Maybe she should try it out. If Ori gets mad she will say she’s sorry and won’t do it again. After all you must make your new friends comfortable and happy.
“Ok I will talk to them. Oh did you want me to ask if they know where your home is? They will be able tell you where the nearest reef to ask more directions if they don’t know.” Masie replies happily waiting for Ori to let her down. After all her Dad is really tall and said she would be hurt if she fell from his shoulders. And Ori was really tall too.

Masie giggles and she wraps her arms around the top of Lady Ori’s head gently. And peers out for the music box. “Of course Lady Ori, I will keep my eyes wide like the lemon sharks. They are very good at looking for things. The also are very good at remembering faces. Oh look at the fish maybe they can help us?” Masie muses, after all she can talk to fishes like the other triton maybe Lady Ori could too.
“Did you want to ask or do you want me to ask?” Masie inwardly pats herself on the back for making sure to ask if Lady Ori wanted to speak to the fish first. After all it is only polite. She looks out seeing the fish lazily swim in front of them only moving out of the way when Ori’s strides get too close.
“They should listen fish are very good listeners. But terrible gossips. If you want to tell something that you don’t want anyone to know tell it to a shark.” She says sagely.

Masie’s eyes widened as did her smile. Lady Ori was just like her dad allowing her to ride on her shoulders. She was tall maybe as tall as her dad? She should measure both of them when she introduces them later so they can help Lady Ori get home.
“Yes please Lady Ori! As father says four eyes are better than two for looking for lost things. Though mother says that depends on the eyes looking.” She says looking thoughtfully as she says the last part.
“Oh and I haven’t forgotten about my promise to take you to the island to find people to help you not be lost anymore.” She looks up solemnly, being lost isn’t fun and it’s very scary at least she had found her so she can help. “I will help you get home.” She smiles warmly back at Lady Ori.

Masie beams up at Ori. “Yep that’s what I thought too the sand bar was the most shallowest part when I dropped it and the currents were pulling it towards the rocky coast line over there. So I think it will be some where on this sand bar or if not it will be closer to the island.” She says with her smile dropping to a thoughtful look.
“The music box is this big and it is sliver with oyster shells in it. When it opens a pretty song comes out of it.” She says as she draws in the sand her very best picture of what she remembers it looking like. She knows that she is getting better at drawing but she still has a lot of practice to be like her mother.
“Oh if it’s open you can hear the song underwater! It’s magic!” Masie says wiggling her fingers at the last part. Because the wizards that she knows wave their hands with some of their spells or point their fingers. She loves seeing what experiments they did especially when they let her help them.
“Oh Lady Ori don’t worry I won’t make you do all the work I am a good friend and I will be doing my fair share of searching. After all I am very good at keeping my word after all I just turned 4.” She says proudly and she dusts off her hands on her clothes.

Masie looks up at Ori confusedly. “I’m not lost I’m looking for a lost thing. My music box, my father made it for me and I on the way to Skathos I dropped it into the water. And the currents should have washed it here. Well that’s at least what my dad- I mean father says about the currents.” She hopes Ori doesn’t get upset since she used the informal way to address her father. It was always weird calling him father in public when he’s just dad at home.
“I was going to find it then go back to the island after I found it. Because I was told that I needed to be responsible for something. And I lost it after the boat hit the wave break.” She looks sadly out at the section where the water goes from calm rolling waves, which are very not good to body surf on, to ones where you can because of the water breaking. “It was quite bumpy on the way in but I am a good tracker and this should be the area it is in.” She then beams up at Ori again, “Lady Ori you’re super tall right? Just like my father your can see things from up high?”

Masie looked up at the woman who had given her first and last name and allowed her to use a nickname. That’s something only friends would do! So she must be a friend! But her name isn’t familiar though…but just because its not familiar doesn’t mean she can’t be a friend.
Maybe she should give Lady Ori her last name? Human greetings are very hard to figure out. Maybe she can shake her hand? Her father does that to people he meets. But she asked where she was, Maybe she is lost?
Masie beams up at Ori and says, “Lady Ori it is wonderful to meet you!” she says excitably. “You’re on the Island of Skathos,” she says proudly enunciating the words as if she has been taught to say it a particular way. “Did you get lost? If so I can help you I know my way back to the city and to the main centre.” The smile suddenly vanishes off her face. As she remembers why she is there in the first place.

It was supposed to be easy. Go back out to where she dropped the music box in the water and look to where it should be like her father had shown her how to do. A sudden sound of something breaching shocks her out of her search. The thing breaching is big like a dolphin but a weird shape that’s not like a dolphin. She watched the thing swim in a circle, it could be another Triton like her! The thought of that made her excited. But her father and mother did say she has to play pretend and be a human because of the adult talks they had to do. Maybe she could ask the person if they could help her look for her music box. All the people that she knew liked helping her with learning things and finding thing so surely this person should be the same.
A sudden change in the wind sprays sand into her warm brown eyes blinding her momentarily as she rubs them clear. As she looks up again a tall human is walking from the direction of where the mysterious person was. This tall person had darker eyes than her and her mother, and hair as dark as her fathers. She then realises that the lady in front of her was pale just like her mother. Maybe she is one of her mothers’ friends? She pushes her shoulder length curly dark brown hair behind her ear to make herself more presentable. And stands herself as straight as she can so she can do the ‘proper polite human greeting’ that her mother has taught her to do.
“Hello Miss, my name is Masie what is your name.”

Meeting Masie

Orianna took a deep breath, allowing the water to pass through the gills at her neck. Her Triton-like features in her water form were a boon for her. The transformation back and forth was as simple as breathing. And it meant she could enjoy the depths of the ocean in ways her human form would never allow.
Looking around the reef she could see fish going about their day, and a black tip reef shark patrolling for food. Orianna wondered if her sibling was hunting for anything in particular today. Well, Thassa would provide for them no matter what.
It was interesting to see there were no Triton fishing or collecting seaweed, or coral today. She had become used to sharing spaces with them. As the thought crossed Orianna’s mind she felt a tug on her right foot. She looked down, finding nothing there. Odd.
As she looked back up, she felt another tug. It was a stronger sensation this time, and just as confusing. She felt another stronger tug on her foot, followed by an even stronger one.
That was all the warning she had before Orianna found herself being dragged by the foot through the water and into the deep. What on Toril was happening?!
As her speed increased a bright light spread over her vision, and the hiss of droplets on the water’s surface filled her ears. Now she knew who was behind this. That sound was one of her mother’s ways of communicating with her, and any of Thassa’s followers.
Orianna closed her eyes and allowed her mother’s power to take her to her final destination. Eventually the pulling sensation stopped, in favour of a pushing sensation. She opened her eyes as she was forced to breach the ocean’s surface. With the few seconds she had before slamming back into the water, Orianna spied a number of land masses. The closest being a sandbar by an island at low tide.
The landing made her groan in pain as the breaking of the water’s surface stung her skin. Not her mother’s smoothest message but what could she do? The gods worked in their own mysterious (bloody strange) ways.
With no further motion being impressed upon her, Orianna swam to the surface and took a better look around. She couldn’t recognise any of the land masses. It would be best if she could find out where she was. She needed to regroup.
With that in mind, Orianna made her way to the sandbar at supernatural speeds. That was the best place to start getting her bearings.
As she came ashore, Orianna’s form dried and her Triton-like features disappeared. The gills, the third eyelid, the fangs, the claws and webbing on her hands and feet, as well as the fins on her calves. All of it disappeared in favour of her human form with its inconspicuous pale skin, dark eyes and dark hair.
As she looked up and down the beach, Ori spotted a little girl on the sandbar. She looked human, and there was no way she could be older than six human years. With a further inspection, Ori couldn’t see any adults in the vicinity either. What was a small fry like this little girl doing here?
Suddenly the roaring of crashing waves filled her ears, despite the apparent calm of the water around them. Thassa wanted her to interact with this little girl for some reason. It didn’t make much sense, but who was she to question a deity. It didn’t matter that said deity was her mother.

“Many people seem to think it foolish, even superstitious, to believe that the world could still change for the better. And it is true that in winter it is sometimes so bitingly cold that one is tempted to say, ‘What do I care if there is a summer; its warmth is no help to me now.’ Yes, evil often seems to surpass good. But then, in spite of us, and without our permission, there comes at last an end to the bitter frosts. One morning the wind turns, and there is a thaw. And so I must still have hope.”

Ok guys current updates for DND Dragons and Chaos, 1911, and Space the Finale Frontier…. Get ready this one includes the anime high school one shot. (Which I will never ever do again 😂)
Anime one shot
28 stab wounds.
“I’m gonna hit on everyone with a pulse,” (Player). “Ok so you rolled the pervert flaw didn’t you?” (Me). “Yep you heard of bards, Shiro is gonna be 10x worse.” (Player). I sigh heavily “ok just so you know you’re probably gonna die right?” Them looking at me “oh I’m banking on it.”
Mr Grey is the unstable science teacher that also teaches summoning demons 101. His wife Mrs Grey is the PE teacher and the swim coach.
I am actively going to mess with Mr Grey and all the rest of the faculty, except Mrs Grey she’s off limits.
Constitution saving throws for laps around the oval. This caused sooooooo many Nat ones which in my anime equivalent was falling over and knocking them selves out.
Half of the players got detention on the first day. The rest got detention on the second day and triggered a TPK when they said something to Mr Grey about his daughter.
Space the Final Frontier
Players love and hate the new NPC’s introduced.
Love Calypso but hate her son Leo.
“I hope Masie is ready for a new mum.” -Marcel
Jurassic Park music plays in the distance.
“Ok so to keep Masie safe we are going to put her in cryo sleep for the entire time we have to get to this meeting and then if we go to her home planet she is just not going to be allowed to wake up until we destroy everything.” Marcel to Aleena (Alt).
“Masie you need to dress up for dinner” Aleena (Alt) Masie raised by a guy who has never once gone out to dinner with her let alone at a fancy restaurant. “What’s wrong with my explorer outfit?”
The actual betrayal going on in this campaign is hilarious and they are gonna be soooo pissed when it all comes to light.
“Android revolution is coming to a ship near you”
“Tracie loves me.” My player rolling poorly on insight and perception. “Apparently so buddy, apparently so.”
We will protect Maise (Alt) with our life squad expansions its membership with 4 new additions.
Hydra goose is coming, and it’s gonna be hilarious.
Dragons and Chaos
I summon Anubis, him immediately going after finding out about one of his followers being in the temple, “oh I haven’t had a chat to her in ages Imma gonna find her and talk.” Que players freaking out and warning the the other half of the split party.
“Nubie!” Nyx’s response to being told he’s gonna come and talk to her
I spin the statues…. Cue puzzle to open the mummy’s sarcophagus, via activation of said mummy.
“Now remember you can’t take anything without getting permission.” Me to all players and one player has to reconfigure a Tesla coil back together.
Violet the horse is still setting things on fire for fun
Flopsie the nearly getting eaten by a very big fox who she made grumpy.
Having a player have to leave the campaign but has his character immortalised in gold as a statue in the front foyer of the house forever.
“Nibbles lost but not forgotten”
Scooby Doo time with the fire that was not set by Charlie.
“I put out the fire via doing this.” Marcus.
Me “are you sure you want to do that with the results from your experiment from this morning?” Me multiple times in the session.
Floods the entire building…. But as the players said puts out the fire.
There was many more things but to keep it simple and shortish I will have to leave it here 😂

This weeks dnd is wild I’m running a one shot for the gang since the regular DM isn’t here and for it we are going balls to the wall insane. It’s either anime: dating sim or anime: slice of life High School edition. Then we have my Monday regulars and my once a month players which will definitely add to the shenanigans post I’ll be doing later in the week.

So DnD is going wild in both of my campaigns I run. The wild stuff that has happened in the last little bit that are now memes are as followed:
“Love you! Bye!” Whenever a player says bye.
“Ok… cool…Your horse now has a flaw, please write down that it likes committing arson.” Me to a player.
“I don’t hate all half elves just this one” a player.
Tuesdays.
You now have 8 days worth of messages from Duke. Message one……
Shadows causing player bonding but also character and NPC Trauma(TM) bonding.
“You now have a 60% chance to die each day. Was it worth it?” Me to a player.
The player immediately after Hell yeah I can’t die!”
The Cat Queen and Rat King.
Charlie’s effects causing a temple to vanish out of existence and only the party members remember that it existed.
“Mr. Han is my dad now” a 5’9 human Paladin to 9ft tall black Anubis helmeted armoured Paladin who gives off menacing vibes.
“What is your title?” And the response to it being I don’t know, or mass murders. The duality of player character.
Museum trips!
Gods and goddesses meddling in the affairs of mortals.
“Damn it I have to make a ranger class now” me halfway through a side quest cause the players are doing to well with their rolls. Spends three days up until 2am finishing it 😂.
The Star
Cutscene
The Star sending vibes at my players like warmth, love, protection, comfort.
I love my daughter and if she dies I’m going to destroy this planet.
“I’m gonna message my boss and ask him if he killed that guy.”
“Your boss the Mob boss? You’re gonna ask him that?” Me at one particular player multiple times throughout the day. “Yes.”
I want to buy dresses for me and Maise. A player using shopping as information gathering.
“I’m gonna kill this guy,” Captain Marcel
“Well now I can’t kill this guy.” Also Captain Marcel.
“Can you convince the mob boss to give me his Android Dire wolf?” Aleena.
