I’m doubling down.
(PT: I’m doubling down. End PT.)
DO NOT LET PEOPLE MAKE YOU FEEL BAD IF YOU EAT FOOD OFFERED TO A CTHONIC DEITY!!
(PT: DO NOT LET PEOPLE MAKE YOU FEEL BAD IF YOU EAT FOOD OFFERED TO A CTHONIC DEITY!! End PT.)
Especially if you are a very paranoid person due to OCD, PPD, etc. you do not deserve to be told you will die or that anything horrible/horrific/bad to happen to you, it WON’T, I should know, I’m guilty of thinking this myself).
No, you do not have to offer food to a cthonic deity if you do not wish to, but if you want to and feel bad leaving food to rot or cannot afford to throw it out, then you are able to eat it. I repeat, nothing bad will happen, you will not die, you will not be rejected by the gods or anything similar.
I have seen too much paranoia triggering posts saying horrific things will happen to you if you do so, it will not, people also need to learn to tag paranoia inducing/unreality posts properly, it is genuinely terrifying to some who cannot tell reality from fiction.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

100% I suspect I am dyslexic and books are a massive struggle for me, I tend to just give up because of it so the internet is the most accessible place for me to get my information.
Hey, reminder ! !
Not everyone has access to books to read about Hellenic polytheism, they might be banned in their country. Sometimes people’s only source of information and knowledge is the internet (Tumblr, TikTok, YouTube)
History (which is what most research on Hellenic Polytheism is under) is already such an inaccessible subject to learn about.
Authors use obnoxious and pretentious vocabulary that the average person doesn’t know. The wording is so confusing sometimes that you have to re-read the same sentence a few times. And I’m saying this as someone who reads history books regularly.
Even if everyone had access to the books, said books can be highly inaccessible to people with dyslexia or any other neurological disorder that affects their ability to read/comprehend information.
I don’t think it should be so frowned up to use the internet for research. Sometimes that’s all people have. And that’s okay.
People like to use platforms to help with research like Tumblr and TikTok because they get to talk to people who speak like people, even if they have books.
Even if everyone had access to the books, said books can be highly inaccessible to people.
I’m autistic, and I’m an incredible reader, my vocabulary is decent. But, due to my autism, my comprehension can be shit sometimes. History books can suck for me because I’ll read and read and read over and over and still not get what they’re saying. I love history books, but that can be inaccessible due to how they’re worded and written. This is the same problem a lot of people with neurological disorders and disabilities face.
Overall, I think this community needs to stop shaming people of the internet is one of there main sources for learning, sometimes that’s all they have for a multitude of reasons.
also if your argument against this is ‘well the internet can be inaccurate when it comes to history and all information!’ May I present to you: literally everything ever.

This is apparently a crazy concept to some Hellenic Polytheists (not going to name anyone, this is just general) but can we let epic the musical fans have fun? Yes, they are roleplaying as gods, yes, they are shipping gods, but they are gods from a FANDOM. They are not shipping the real life version of the gods. Please guys, let them have fun, it’s a fandom. Some of you need to learn to separate media from reality /nm /lh /gen.

That’s fair, I’m a revivalist so I tend to do things a more modern way and my stance on divination isn’t communicating with a god(ess). My take on divination is things like tarot and pendulum, asking clarifying questions about things rather than communication, for communication I simply just light my candle and talk to them.
Genuine question! What makes divination bad for beginners? That’s the first time I’m hearing it personally, and if anything I feel like I hear people say divination is fine when you’re just starting out on your practice- just that you shouldn’t take everything at face value and take the time to actually learn the meanings and intuition and stuff.
It's bad in the sense that you won't get accurate answers or even answers at all in some cases as you need to build kharis with who/whatever you are doing divination with, such as Apollo, you would need to build kharis with him first. Hope this helps!

Another unpopular opinion! Since you all liked my last one so much, have another: Beginners doing divination isn't the end of the world, no, it isn't good for their journey, but that is their journey, not yours. Beginners doing divination isn't good but we shouldn't harass them about it, we should help teach them why, provide them sources to learn. It is not going to hurt you at all, if beginners do divination, don't act like its the end of the world. I promise, it is not.

Unpopular helpol opinion. If you cannot afford to waste food that you offered to a chthonic deity(es), then eat it. Yes, if you feel the need to, cleanse yourself after, but, it is not bad, especially if you cannot afford to waste food. You do not deserve to be told you have to throw it out or be made to feel guilty about it (I have never seen anyone do this but just in case).
