Academia Sleepwear & Loungewear
How do I even begin...
First, a disclaimer: my pajamas consist of cat pants and eeyore shirts, so this post is merely a speculation.
Sleepwear
Academics would, in the winter, wear their sweaters to bed to combat the cold.
Tumblr media
A large, comfortable brown sweater would be their favorite in the winter, paired with a pair of comfortable, loose pants:

In the summer, however, the sweater can be traded for a short sleeve shirt:

If it really is too warm, the entire set could be replaced with a short sleeve and shorts combo:

The idea is to stick with the color scheme (browns, beige, muted colors), and choose fabrics that provide a comfortable drape. Not too stiff or too thin.
Another option, for both summer and winter, would be a nightgown. It gives a royal feeling that makes you want to float around with a good book as you read beautiful poetry aloud for your roommates to groan at..
Tumblr media
Academia sleep and loungewear, overall, is pretty easy to find! Collared pajama shirts are exactly what you want, and victorian nightgowns might also suit your tastes.
Dark and Light academia nighttime fashion is very similar since a lot of sleepwear is light in color. Only when you add a daytime sweater or sweater vest can you darken the color palette slightly.
Academics, have fun melting the academia lifestyle into your nighttime routine; I'm sure I will.
Until we meet again.

My Academia Formula
This lifestyle is different for everybody, and I am only here to tell mine, and impart to you a piece of my soul.
Dark, light, classic, romantic, chaotic, and everything else academics, I welcome you.
Knowledge versus Education
I learn to fall in love with the acquisition of knowledge, not the experience of structured education. University is not for everyone, and that's okay. The library and internet are wonderful places overflowing with knowledge. (I hope to share resources I come across with you in the future.)
Classics
I am heavily classics focused. Classic literature, music, instruments, and languages. I am currently taking myself through the oldest pieces of literature, in chronological order, and am also studying the Latin language.
Values
Mental health: I do not condone many dark academic behaviors associated with mental illnesses (unable or unwilling to sleep, consuming excessive amounts of coffee, overworking, overstudying). I take great care to preserve my mind's health, and I hope that you will, too.
Culture: The world of classic literature is heavily dominated by Dead White Males. I wish to include writing from more than just Europe into my bookshelf. China, India, Japan, Pakistan, and countless others. Work with me, academics, to make this community increasingly inclusive.
Respect: This world has an air of pretentiousness and competition. I wish to shed that. I treat people with respect as a baseline, regardless of how much it kills me to do so.
Fashion
The fun part! This is my color palette:
Tumblr media
I stay away from pure black and opt for dark browns. Green is a color I will never omit from my closet, and its friend, yellow, stays there as well.
Traditional Academia Clothing: Sweater vests are a big one for me! Other items I wear or am planning to purchase are:
Mary-Janes
Brown or green trousers
More sweater vests
Different types of white button-ups
Old blazers and coats
Academic style sleep and lounge wear
Makeup: I am still learning. Eighteen years, and still learning. I am going to perfect the clean look with as little makeup as possible to save my time and my skin.
If you have read 'til here, I welcome you again, academics, to my world, and I so wish to peek into yours, too.
Until we meet again.

I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in my life. And I am horribly limited.
