The One Ensemble with Sonic Bothy Performance Glasgow City Halls 7.30pm 7 December 2017
Inclusive contemporary music ensemble Sonic Bothy has joined forces with experimental chamber folk group The One Ensemble to present an evening of music as the conclusion of their ‘Space + Listening + Democracy’ project.
This venture saw both groups working together in explorative practice-sharing sessions to examine the process of collaborative composition, particularly in the context of an environment of diverse styles of communication and varied musical backgrounds (including avant-garde, free jazz, rock, classical and early music).
Short individual sets will be followed by a joint performance bringing together all the players in works drawing inspiration from traditional Taiko drumming, medieval song and much more besides. Expect improvisation combined with freely flowing melody and tight rhythmic structures, but also be prepared for the totally unexpected!
Tickets at Glasgow City Halls box office.

Miann is going to Mexico next month, and we’re terribly excited both to be back on the road with Scottish Dance Theatre, and to be working with Sound of Yell front man Stevie Jones.
