this female character has toxic masculinity because she's rude and angry. it's misogynistic to hate my male fave because he's popular with women but it's ok to hate on this female character because she's bad female rep and women who like her don't count. it's actually misogynistic to like badly written women because it is rewarding low effort of male writers and I'm the sole arbiter of what is a badly written woman. it's misogynistic to write women with personality flaws because complexity is for silly boys. it's feminist to remove women from stories and focus on the men because I don't have to deal with that bad rep in my fanfiction. it's misogynistic how the narrative has reduced her to a love interest for a man so I reduced her to the mom friend, yaoi cheerleader, and therapist for the same man instead. she deserves better so I decided to remove her from the narrative altogether so she won't have to suffer all the interesting conflict my guys will have to suffer instead. no, I'm not a misogynist, my disregard for women is 100% feminist.

The film is operating under ATR (African Traditional Religions) or an approximation of it with Hoodoo. Of course this a huge generalisation, but typically in ATR, there’s no heaven/hell. There’s three interconnected worlds - the human world, the spiritual world, and the natural world. All three play a role with each other.

Any baddoing a person has done will either be dealt with in the human world orr they’ll come back as vengeful spirit cursing others if they didn’t die right (as a result of their bad doings, ie they were cursed by others etc)

do you think that in sinners smoke went to heaven or purgatory-like his death vision seemed to imply-while stack and the other vampires who killed people went to hell? or just that they have different afterlives? the thought of stack never seeing smoke again kills me

i don't think heaven/purgatory/hell exist in the sinners universe.

if anything, christianity is shown as nothing more than a tool of control and erasure - paralleled with vampirism (both also offering false hope of "community" and "another life"). afterlife seems to be very much crossing over to the other side/rejoining your ancestors and because of that i don't think vampires are cursed/condemned the same way they are in stories that operate with christianity as THE TRUE FAITH. they seem to be trapped between life and death - it's why remmick experiences sammie's music like THAT in the first place.

annie herself says that it's the soul that gets stuck in the body - i loveee how compassionate she is when she says that too, like a monster can't help being a monster! so, i don't even think remmick went to hell, after all that.

now, whether, once released, the human soul gets to rejoin their ancestors or whether there's another afterlife for vampires altogether is up for debate. but, i feel, were stack to walk out into the sun one day...his brother would be there to embrace him.

I refused to watch S3 and it looks like that trend will continue with S4. But if on the slim chance Sydcarmy happened in future season, it would be terribly written bc Storer has sabotaged his own show along the way as he feels embarrassed that no one likes Claire or give af about ClaireCarmy
