This week, I took Nevis to High Wycombe and walked to Beaconsfield, just because this is the area where Terry Pratchett lived most of his life, and Discworld was basically how I survived secondary school.

I only took a photo of the sold sign because Tim Russ is also the name of the actor who played Tuvok in Star Trek: Voyager. So, you know, it amused me.

Anyway, the footpath around the tractor graveyard is called Sniggs Alley, which in Discworld is a street in Ankh-Morpork. I believe it may be the only location in Discworld named directly after a real place.

After crossing some countryside I stopped for an ale at, well, probably in fact one of several pubs that claims to be the oldest in Britain. But just down the road from it is Forty Green where Sir Terry grew up. Then I finished the day out by heading to the nearest library. I don't know if this is the library Sir Terry frequented when he was young, but you can see his name on the mural outside.

KPDH Au where there's actually a in-universe normal camera man filming HUNTR/X every time they sing. They've been sworn to secrecy to not reveal demons exist and has the "cool cgi" effects cover story to hide the fact Huntrix is actually killing demons at their videos.

Demons at the airplane? Quickly gets out their camera because they know this is going to be AMAZING MV footage.

"Yeah I know the demon boy band are evil and all, but look at these cool angles I've shot while they were at their free concert. We can release this as our own and get all the credit."

"Rumi and Jinu together? Alright. Probably can't use this footage until Rumi comes out of the clos- I mean when she comes out as a half-demon."

Celine is Half-Filipino

I love the kpdh fandom, fanworks and really enjoy how chill everyone here.

But I do have a small pet peeve with how some people write Celine. A lot of fics write her as a homewrecker who's trying to break Huntr/x apart. Like "Oh well, you can find better demon hunters anyway, just cut them off" type of thing.

Which is literally the last she wants to happen.

Even if we take the canon worst interpretation of her character(which is bordering on fanon at this point), like oh, she killed Rumi's mother, she only cares about protecting the Honmoon, does not give a fuck about Rumi except her demon hunting and her mother's promise, etc.

The Huntr/x breakup would mean that she failed in achieving her goals.

The reason why she forbid Rumi to tell the others that she's a half demon? She's afraid of the possibility that Zoey and Mira might not accept her and that it will cause a rift between them.

Like see this line at their Confrontation Scene:

Celine: …" I'll tell Mira and Zoey that it was all a lie, an illusion, by Gwi-ma to break us apart."

Celine out of all people understand that the demon hunters need to work together to protect and strengthen the Honmoon. She knows that there's a reason these three women were picked to fight together and become kpop stars, together. The fate of the entire world hinges on the strength of the bonds between these three girls. To break that bond means you break the Honmoon and the demons win.

Is it bad that she told Rumi to hide her pattern from the people she loves? Yes, it's bad and it caused problems for everyone involved. But she's also a complex character. She loves Rumi, but she's also been taught that demons are bad and evil and to kill them is literally her life's purpose. Being against Huntr/x is like the last thing she wants

Classic Who is amazing. You watch for twenty-three minutes as Doctor and companion wander around a quarry in Wales before someone walks up and points a gun at them. Blast theme tune. Next episode, turns out the person was holding it out to them because they thought it was the Doctor and companion's gun and that they'd lost it. No, it's someone else's gun. Whose gun? The FUCKING MASTER'S. AGAIN.

Hmm yes, the perfect trifecta:

- A green coded cute, bubbly, and super overeager and supportive character.

- Has a brutally honest, tough, and snarky exterior but cares really deeply about their friends inside. Also pink coded

-Sword wielding main character with a dark secret they're keeping from their friends and is just really going through it over the course of the story

I do remember seeing somewhere that they can't actually use the Kandyman due to a rights issue, I think it was a candy company claiming that the Kandyman was too similar to their mascot.

(correct me if I'm wrong though.)

Which is why big finish brought him back but with a whole new design and some guy made out of grey spun sugar(?)

If RTD wanted to be a hit with the kids, he should have revisited The Happiness Patrol and brought back the Kandyman. Like.... child-like elements with a horror undercurrent? Do I need to say more?
