Rain poses a risk to any fire person in an open space. Cities subject to rain are responsible for having a contingency plan regardless of the current fire presence. This is due to the proliferation of fire populations post-exodus.

City planners may propose rain shelters with unambiguous, non-language-based signage so that way they may be recognized by individuals who do not know the local tongue.

Rain shelter tunnels allow fire people safe access to transit and public buildings. Inside they sport emergency fuel caches and fire starter kits for the partially extinguished.

It wouldn't surprise me if "Robot Racism" is at least partially a self-fulfilling prophecy. Like decades of media using robots as (typically crude and superficial) allegories for racism meant that when people developed genuine anti-AI sentiment it made intuitive sense to express it "ironically" in the language of Racism, rather than picking some other bigotry as a basis.

And once that became established, it presented the perfect opportunity for anyone to say the most heinously racist shit they could think of while passing it off a "just a joke" or "they're robots why do you care?". So you get this sort of escalation from people saying "slurs" straight from some sci fi Aesop (i.e. "rustbucket") all the way to obvious direct racism against actually existing groups of people (i.e. "Rosa Sparks"), the racism that was present from the start losing more and more plausible deniability as they get bolder and bolder. And somehow, some people are still surprised that LARPing as villains from a bad racism allegory attracts a lot of self-conscious intentional racists

pacific rim fucks severely for a lot of reasons but my favorite is that it opens with "the lizard aliens are unionizing so we built robots running on the power of love to fight them you got all that right" and before you have time to really process that concept bam gunshot body on the floor and the movie goes "now consider the vast power of grief in this setup" it never really stops considering
