A kiss in the rain
Nozel Silva x gn!reader
Tumblr media
“They told you to do what?”
The remaining members of your squad stand petrified in front of their captain, unable to decide if Nozel really hadn’t heard what they said or if he had heard perfectly well and was simply asking out of disbelief that they would return home without you during a mission. It was all under your orders and as squad leader and significant other of none other than Nozel Silva, how were they supposed to tell you ‘no’? They all knew that Nozel would not be happy about this choice but nothing prepared them for the violet eyes that pierced through their very souls as the confession of your call left their mouths.
One of them swallows the saliva stuck in their throat, gathering up the courage to answer with the fear it will only make things worse. Before they can get out a word, he stands from behind his desk and heads towards the office door.
“When I return we’ll be going over again what it means to work as a squad,” he says coldly before heading out the door without giving them a second glance or asking for further information.
In their retelling of your orders they had already told him that you sent the rest of the squad back to the headquarters and branched off alone in a small town not far from Nean so there was no need to waste precious time lecturing them now.
Nozel watches closely for your figure in the wind as he rides his eagle into the common realm and towards the border to the forsaken realm, his heart picking up speed each minute that passes without you coming into view and the blue sky turns gray and cold. How could you be so reckless and ask your team to abandon you without reason, promising that you’d catch up with them before they even made it back to the headquarters only to not return even well after they did? You’re smart and strong, he knows you are but that doesn’t mean you’re strong enough to handle things alone. Did you even know what you were getting yourself into? He hates the uncertainty.
Close to Nean he has no choice but use his Mercury to create a makeshift umbrella just so he can see a little ways ahead of him in the downpour of rain. It’s almost impossible to see anything in front of him the closer he gets to the town and the more the fog comes into view. He really didn’t want to cause a scene for either you or him by walking around as a noble in the common realm or the lecture he was sure to give you when he found you but he has no choice but to set out on foot as it continues to rain even harder. It’s a relief that most of the locals are staying in doors thanks to the weather but it’s also incredibly frustrating that there aren’t many people he can ask about a direction they might have seen you go in.
He asked himself a million questions on the way here, like what could have possibly torn you from your team and sent you off on your own and then delayed you even further or where the hell you would be once he made it to your last known location. He can only assume the worst and that it’s some kind of threat to you because why else would you make a choice like this.
If you knew Nozel you’d know his eager and slightly demanding tone is one of mostly worry and not completely of hostility while he questions the few townspeople that are outside at the moment. But they don’t know him, he’s never been great speaking with commoners as is, and his demanding words only scare them, making it so most of what they say are useless apologies that are wasting time. His only saving grace is the homeless man who said he watched you follow a hooded man into the wooded area just as the rain started its downpour.
A tch leaves his lips at the man's directions and he tosses him some coins for the useful information before heading into the woods you were seen. The sun starts to set, the rain unrelenting and still no sign of you. Thoughts of losing you or finding you hurt start to come to the forefront of his mind but he knows he has to shove them down and remain calm, it’s the only way he’ll find you. He’ll find you even if he has to coat this entire realm in his mercury to do it.
Over the pounding of droplets on tree leaves it's nearly impossible to hear but no matter how faint, he’d know your voice when he heard it and when the small yelp you let out came from the distance, he didn’t waste a moment heading in your direction.
Normally you’d love this weather and the patter of the rain but it was.. less than helpful when trying to pursue an enemy. Just as you followed the cloaked Diamond Kingdom mage into the wooded area outside of town it started to pour and it wasn’t much longer before the rain made it impossible to keep track of him and you eventually lost sight of him. You questioned his familiar face when you passed by him in your journey through this small town and after a few moments of pondering what to do, you decided to follow him and see what he was up to, strictly observing* and reporting to the Magic Knights that are in charge of this area what you discovered, if anything.
After you lost sight of him, that plan was out the window. Once you were sure you weren’t being followed and that he hadn’t seen you in return, you began to make your way back to town to dry off and grab your broom. But the rain only got worse and made it harder to continue on so you waited under a larger oak tree that provided some kind of shelter. After waiting a good 20 minutes, your clothes soaking up the rain that made it through the trees, you heard the cry of an animal and followed it’s whimpers deeper into the woods until you came across a small fox with it’s leg caught in a trap.
It must have been very trusting or you really have a knack with animals because it didn’t even fight you as you preyed open the metal jaws to let it free.
“Ouch!” You yelped when the trap went to close again, a spiky tooth cutting your finger as you moved your hand just in time to miss getting caught in the trap yourself. It’s nothing bad, a little worse than a papercut. The poor fox has it much worse than you.
Luckily you are ever prepared and are able to apply a healing salve from your small backpack to help the bleeding, the magic imbued in the herbs already beginning to heal the foxes wound. It would be just fine and scurrying off without so much as a limp in no time. You’re both soaking wet but that does stop you from petting him as he rubs against your legs, you’d like to think it’s to return the kindness you paid it by saving it from the hunters.
A twig breaking from behind you brings your eyes from it’s dark orange fur but it is not the sight you were expecting to see. The fox hurries off when he makes a step closer to you.
“Nozel? What are you doing here?” Your heart rate picks up as he gets closer and you’re able to make out the look on his face. He may think he’s playing it off cool but the worry behind his eyes is ever present, something he couldn’t hide from the one that holds his heart.
“What are you doing?”
His tone makes his distress even more evident and it pulls at your heart strings.
“I- I was just-” you can barely spit out an answer as you watch his soaking figure step closer to you. He holds out his hand, pulling you up to meet his eyes from your crouched position. He doesn’t say anything as he waits for your explanation but he squeezes your hand tightly when he sees the blood from your cut and he quickly begins to inspect your whole body. You know you need to explain before the tension between you worsens. “I’m fine, just a little cut on my finger,” you assure him, holding up your finger to show him before continuing, quickly explaining what you were up to by yourself. “I was following a mage I’ve fought with before from the Diamond kingdom because he looked familiar and suspicious so I was just checking it out but I lost sight of him and when I was heading back into town I heard that fox crying so-so,” you start to lose breath and your anxiety grows under his intense gaze.
“Why did you go alone?”
“More of us would have only drawn attention,” you reason. “But I know better than go in blind with no back up, you taught me that. I wasn’t going to fight.” This time you take a step closer to him, grabbing onto the feathers of his uniform, hoping your touch will calm his panicked heart. “You know I’m a lot stronger than I look.”
“I still do not agree with your choice.”
“I-,” you go to further reassure him that you are okay but are cut off by Nozels arms wrapping around you, one hand pressing the small of your back to pull you further into him, the other finding its way into your wet locks.
All of your words, all of Nozel fears wash away in the rain and seep into the ground underneath the warm embrace shared between lovers.
“Don’t scare me like that again,” it comes out as a whisper as he kisses the top of your head, his grip tightening against you at his next words. “If something had happened to you-”
You pull away but only enough to look into his purple eyes as you let the rain droplets run down your cheeks along with the few tears you can’t help let out at his sweet words and the love you feel from him. “I’m sorry I worried you my love,” the nickname has his heart stopping. “Maybe it was stupid to go alone but no matter happened or happens, I’ll always come back to you. That, I swear above anything else.”
You don’t let him answer, don’t let him do anything but bask in your heart felt promise and your lips as you stand on your tippy toes, pulling on his cloak to bring him closer to you in a passionate kiss. You can feel him relax under your touch and you can’t help but melt into his arms as you holds you close, not caring how wet either of you or the rain that has no sign of stopping falling around you.
When he pulls away his breath is staggered, his cheeks tinted ever so slightly pink. He looks perfect like this; his wet hair clinging to his face, his eyes soft, filled with love and adoration as he whispers the sweetest words, words only meant for you, “I love you y/n. I don’t ever want to lose you.”
“I love you too and you won’t, I won’t let it happen.”
“Let's get you out of this rain before you catch a cold.” With his arm still around you he summons his mercury eagle and creates another umbrella to shield you further from the rain as you snuggle into his side.
“Take a warm bath with me when we get home?”
You can’t see it but you can hear the smile on his lips through his words. “As you wish, love.”

Erwin: Say Udo, why are your mom and dad sitting with their backs to each other?
Udo: They had a fight.
Erwin: Then why are they holding hands?
Udo: *sighs* They get sad whenever they fight.

Note
Why are people complaining about Oikawa’s stats? They’ve always been like that. The whole point to his character is although he doesn’t have “natural talent” aka super high stats, he is still able to bring the best out of his team and be an amazing setter. Stats don’t mean anything if you don’t know how to apply them properly to volleyball, but Oikawa does. If he had the highest stats it’d ruin his character development

Imagine being the only member of Squad Levi to survive
Tumblr media
Levi sat in a chair pulled up to the edge of the bed, arms crossed over his chest as he looked down at your sleeping figure. A splitting agony exploded in your head.
Still caught in a stupor, you studied the surroundings, sitting up on your elbows.
“Welcome back, brat,” he greeted neutrally, scooting himself closer. “How does it feel to have cheated the sweet release of death?”
The Captain’s voice snapped you out of your daze, attention brought back to the present. You were in the infirmary, bandaged up, and miraculously alive.
Memories came flooding back. They started off as pictures. Flashes of dark red, all rushing in a sequence that was difficult to keep up with. The mission, Eren, the Female Titan. Fighting against her… and pitifully losing. Screams resonated in your head, along with the fear in Petra’s eyes. Oluo squashed like a fly, Gunther crushed as if he was an meaningless object. Your eyes widened in shock at the excruciating recollection. Eld’s desperate shouts were traumatizing to the core, replaying over and over.
The smell of thick, metallic blood filled your nostrils. Like you were hurtled back into the forest of giant trees, now the coffins of your family.
You placed your hand on your forehead and stood, ignoring the pain in your midriff and noticed, finally, a haunting detail of the room.
All the other beds were empty.
Why are they empty?
You were afraid to ask, but Pandora’s box had already been opened.
“Where’s the rest of the squad?” You queried quietly as you hugged your arms, feeling as if you’d fall apart if you didn’t. One might wonder if you had spoken at all, your voice small against the silence.
Levi stood up from behind you.
Crying after expeditions was something most people got over doing quickly; it was an asset to be emotionally detached. You were on the verge of tears, though.
“(Y/N)…”
As soon as he spoke in that stupid, ‘I need to walk on eggshells’ tone, you felt droplets stream down your cheeks, having already known the answer yourself. Having watched one by one, the Survey Corp Special Operation Squad, getting pummeled into oblivion. It was as if some force deliberately picked you apart slowly and watched the hope die piece by piece.
Petra, Oluo, Gunther, and Eld were gone, and they left you behind. Your family was dead.
Knees buckling, you plummeted to the floor, body wracked by silent sobs. You covered your mouth, refusing to let go of honor by crying out loud.
The room melted away until there was nothing except a compressing weight on your chest, making it nearly impossible to breath as the room grew blurry. You were zoned out and trembling, lost in a void of grief.
A force grabbed you and heaved you back to your feet. Levi held you upright firmly, stoic-faced, yet determined.
You braced for reproachment at such weakness but were too broken to care, lost at sea, yet Levi didn’t say a word.
He pulled you forward until your face bumped into his chest, his strong arms encircling your figure. It was a stiff and awkward hug but you weeped into his shirt nonetheless, needing something solid to grab onto in an attempt to find reprievement from such pain.
“Stop crying, (Y/N). There’s nothing you can do about it now,” he said, chin resting on your hair as you shook within his grasp.
Your heartbeat thrummed in your ears, blood pulsing so quickly each beat created a pumping sensation. The struggling to hold back your whimpers was growing weaker.
“I’m so sorry, Captain,” you choked desperately between shaky breaths, ignominy pulling at your heartstrings as you tried your best to obey.
He only shushed you harshly in response.
Your cheek pressed over his heart, its soothing thrum sounding in your ears. Despondency laced itself into your entire being as you wondered what you possibly could’ve done right to deserve such comfort from the typically monotonous man.
He gripped your chin and raised it to his eyelevel. You were staring right through him, though, as if he hadn’t been there at all.
An unpleasant feeling churned in the pit of Levi’s stomach at the absent look in your gaze.
“It will get better, (Y/N).”
Your gaze shifted to the floor, unable to meet his stare as you grabbed his wrists with both hands, weakly whispering into his fists, “Please, just stay with me.”
Levi pulled his arm away to escape your grasp and you nearly wailed, thinking that he was going to leave. But the mattress of the bed behind you dipped as he sat down, pulling you back into his strong embrace.
“Where else would I go, brat?” he murmured, slowly closing his eyes.

lemme weep
I'm sobbing at Levi's hurt face I'll fight anyone who says he didn't love Hange more than a friend. Do you think that when everything ends he's gonna retire to live in a cabin in the woods because he knew that was what Hange always dreamed of? 😔
ah, that’s such a nice thought!
i really hope he does and after everything that he’s been through i hope that he gets to live peacefully at least for a while
because we all know that when he reunites with hange in afterlife, she won’t let him have peace ever again ;)

𝓡𝓮𝓪𝓹𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓲𝓽𝔂
𝓫𝔂 𝓖𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓾𝓼
The 23rd ward was filled with horror, the screams and shouts for help roared in her ears as well as the clashing of quinques and kagunes. She loathed it. Even as a child she was already seeking peace. Just one moment for herself sitting comfortably marveling the moon as the stars beautifully scattered on the night sky and the wind whispering incoherent comforts in her skin. A moment of tranquil will suffice.
Eto Yoshimura planned the strike for tonight, they’ve attacked one of the hostile territories of the CCG– Cochlea. The detention center for ghouls. It was a bold move yet we are talking about the Aogiri Tree, the strength of this group is as much as a battalion of man-eating creatures. The aim is to get Kaneki Ken to reconcile with Aogiri and to exterminate the White Reaper. Kishou Arima is her mission.
The CCG’s Death God, ghouls are terrified of him. They rake in fear just by the mere mention of his name. He is the downfall of her kind. Arima’s duty is to eradicate all flesh-eating beings. They are labeled as monsters. Thus they didn’t choose to be one. Was it their fault being born as ghouls? Their diet is human flesh, how can they refrain themselves feeding with them? Above all, was it her fault being experimented and been bestowed with an ugly destiny? And so they are hated for existing.
From the rooftop of the tall skyscraper, she watched the scenery below, it was like a slaughtering house. Corpses and blood on the ground. Howls of pain and laughs of maniacs resounded in the location. Sighing she sat on the edge of the building swaying her legs. The moon is present tonight as if giving her the peace she wanted. The stars as well scintillate in the vast dark ceiling, it was a rather comforting scenery to witness.
She smiled upon sensing his presence. Took him a while to reach her. It’s been years huh? Years of pain after everything that had happened. She was someone else before her fall. Before destruction and darkness consumed her. Before that wrenching incident that made her what she is today. Years had passed between the two of them. They simply ran out of time or they are running after it. Chasing circles, holding on with what is left.
“Miyuki Akiara, the Grim Reaper,” he said with an impassive tone. Not really impressed meeting the one-eyed ghoul.
“Aww at least you still remember me and they gave us matching aliases, isn’t cute?” sweet giggles vibrated on her throat. Silenced is all he replied. How long has it been again when he last heard that gentle voice? Her optimistic personality that brightens the headquarters. Her little stunts put everyone in the organization clutching their stomachs with laughter. Her smartness that many admire. Good old days slowly becoming a blur and eventually will vanish.
He’s heard of the Grim Reaper. A she-ghoul who devoured her own to stay above the food chain. A triple S rated monster who gave doom to both humans and her kind, thus her nom de guerre. But the thing is, he couldn’t believe that the name of the mentioned dark reaper would be the girl whom he assumed already rested above with the celestial gems she forever loved, a little bit too soon that she became one of them… but did she? He cannot seem to fathom the feeling gushed in his system that day. Anger? Disappointed? Confused? He spent sleepless nights after assimilating the information. Much more here, right at the moment, his former subordinate or safe to say a long lost friend, in flesh.
“I would like to say ‘surprise’ but I know you knew I’m alive.” She glanced at the Special Class Investigator who’s standing mightily behind her still showing no emotions. “I have missed you Kishou, don’t you feel the same? Oh, such a destiny intertwining us once more.” Standing up whilst swinging her scythe-like quinque. The only thing she retrieved after The Rose incident. The only thing that’s holding her from the past. A gift from the great Death God of CCG. Looking directly in his eyes she threw the scythe off the building. An indication of goodbye.
“Truly it’s been a while. How compromising seeing you again.” No hint of sarcasm nor any sign that he is pleased to reunite with the woman.
“Try smiling Arima, if I just don’t know you any better I would feel really sad with the lack of sincerity in your voice.”
His cold gaze lingering on her system, although he as well couldn’t comprehend her emotion due to the fancy black mask made of fine glass sculpted into an image of a wing with silver gems on each feathers covering half of her face.
“Such formalities are not needed anymore, I supposed. You have your mission.” Pulling out his Ixa from the attaché case as he tried plunging the weapon to her stomach that she swiftly dodge releasing her chimera type of kagune. A kokaku kakuhou that resembles a wing of a fallen angel with shards like feathers and a rinkaku kakuhuo with two dark clawed tentacles attacking the investigator.
Both with fast phases seemingly impossible to catch one another. Their movements are like the speed of lightning almost unseen. His Ixa and her kagunes colliding nonstop. Motions are all calculated and accurate. Finally penetrating a strong blow to her stomach she almost fell to the ground. Hence she regenerates quickly composing her position.
Once again, he successfully thrusting the quinque deep to her flesh whilst slicing her spectacles causing her to whimper. He didn’t stop attacking until she met the cold floor. Her breathe hitched with the damages she received, growling with pain. Regenerating will take time with her wounds. What a weakling, she said to herself. After all these years, he is still undefeatable. She already expected that.
His Ixa was pointing directly at her. Him patiently waiting when to pierce sans remorse to the ghoul. Chuckling with her situation, she removed her mask tossing near where his feet rest. From the ground, she stared at the handsome man whom he once cherished. Maybe it didn’t falter. The same thumping of her heartbeat is still there just like years ago. The war inside her stomach is still present until now.
“Only avoiding and shielding the strikes I see. You do not have plans on fulfilling your task am I correct?” Instead of answering the question she just continued studying him.
“The moonlight always looks perfect on you.” The gentleness in her voice didn’t slip his ears. It’s like hearing the soft-spoken old Miyuki Akiara once more.
They are both haunted with the past, those vivid dreams who kept on bugging their minds waking up at the devil’s hour. Their dreams cascading into beautiful ones to terrifying scenes. In the end, she will wake up screaming with tears in her face. The cry was not because of fear, it was something else. Something painful, broken and vile. Him, well he will be left in thoughts of what-ifs, tormenting himself of those possibilities he could have changed everything. That he could have saved her from the abyss of demise. In his most private daydreams, he hoped to hear the sweet girl who brightens up his bland world one last. She just kept on gleaming every time she smiles and he couldn’t keep himself wanting for more.
“You are not her, she died years ago,” his grip tightened on his single arsenal. “Her fall was my fall and her death was mine too.”
“She didn’t die Arima, just half of her. The girl is still enduringly waiting for her god to finish her meaningless existence. Her stay is excruciating and so she wanted to be part of the night sky and rest.
You are her god...
End me.” A plead of mercy. A beg of the half-deceased star.
Both felt the agonizing ache of what they struggled to escape. None is the well-composed Arima Kishou anymore, now kneeling in front of her with his head bow down hiding the growing emotion carving in his cover. Reaching his hands, and leaning her forehead to his. They silently prayed for what’s impossible. Her free hand consolingly stroking his snow-white hair.
“Kishou. My Arima Kishou,” she whispered painfully. “Everything will prevail just alright love.”
A smile was attached to her soft lips albeit the harsh charge straight to her heart. He held her fondly in his arms as if holding his dear life, although brutally slipping away.
Her last three words of affection are spoken tenderly almost serene that will eternally annihilate him. They are both reaped out of mortality. Violently tore the hope and faith they beseeched.
One fading and the other will perish for a lifetime suffering from the damnation he casted to himself.
And so the god shed tears for his now slowly dying star, her shine perishing. Gone her brightness. Burying her above the heavens.
