"Radio name: Kurumi-chan, from Akita Prefecture, 15 years old.
Good evening, Haruka-sensei and Seira-sensei! This is Kurumi who shares the same birthday as Seira-sensei! I was so happy when I found out that I share the same birthday with such a cute person that I bragged to my friends (LOL), so when that Seira-chan announced her graduation, to be honest, I couldn't stop crying. It's sad to think that I won't be able to see Seira-chan anymore, but on her birthday this year, I will do my best to send her off on the path she has chosen to take with a smile on her face! And even after Seira-chan graduates from Nogizaka, I will continue to celebrate the birthday on August 24th every year for both myself and Seira-chan! We only have a few days left until your graduation, but I would be happy if we could make your birthday filled with love by getting all the love from the members and fans!"
Kakki: That's it!
Seira: Oh my ... what should I say? Now that I receive a letter like this again ... thank you, Kurumi-chan. These days I've been getting a little bit nervous about how special these messages are. I'm glad! But if you continue to celebrate for me, I'd like to continue to celebrate for Kurumi-chan too.
Kakki: Woah, so happy! Kurumi-chan, are you listening? Kurumi-chan!
Seira: Let's celebrate it together!
Kakki: The birthday is around the corner, but on the birthday, August 24th, Seira will graduate from Nogizaka46. Only two weeks to go ...!
Seira: Eh!
Kakki: That surprised me too ....
Seira: What should I do? Two weeks from now we won't be in the same group!
Kakki & Seira: No way, no way!
Kakki: I see. We did say like, "There's actually still a moth left," didn't we?
Seira: We did, but we didn't really see each other anymore.
Kakki: 'Cause I was too busy with the tour.
Seira: But we kept in touch, right?
Kakki: Yeah, we did! But I couldn't help but come to Seira and invite her to Nogizaka LOCKS for the last time.
Seira: Thank you very much.
Kakki: So today, I'd like to spend some time talking about my memories with my fellow the assistant homeroom teacher of Class 4, Hayakawa Seira who is about to graduate from Nogizaka46.
Seira: Alright!
Kakki: Good evening, students! This is the assistant homeroom teacher, Nogizaka46's Kaki Haruka and ....
Seira: Hayakawa Seira! I wanted to imitate your (jingle) "Kaki Haruka~" (LOL).
Kakki: I know!
Seira: So cool!
Kakki: I know, right! I've always wanted to say that too (LOL).
Kakki & Seira: Kaki Haruka~
Seira: Ah, how should I say it? It's such a trivial thing, but I'm sad that I won't be able to see you say it anymore ....
Kakki: During the tour, Seira had a graduation ceremony at the Osaka show, and you stopped participating afterwards. Then we did the Okinawa, Aichi, and Hiroshima shows, and Mayutan was something!
Seira: Eh? What do you mean?
Kakki: She disturbed the members, in a good way, and it was something! Since you were not there, it was her against everyone ... she was lonely.
Seira: Oh my, you're so lonely, aren't you, Mayutan?
Kakki: It seems! That was really something!
Seira: I was a little worried about you, Mayutan. We were always together, and I wondered if you were alright, so I contacted you often, but if you could play around with everyone, then I'm relieved! Please play around with them a lot more.
Kakki: I was just gonna say that everyone seemed to be having a blast!
Seira: Really? That's great to hear!
Kakki: I was gonna say, "Don't worry (about her)!"
Seira: Yeah, I'm not worried!
Kakki: Today I thought of talking about our memories, but there's just too much (LOL).
Seira: Very true.
Kakki: What should we do ...?
Seira: 'Cause we have even started chatting in the very early days, when we weren't even sure we would be able to join Nogizaka.
Kakki: We did!
Seira: At the joint audition, when it was decided that we would be assigned to XX, about five girls were called in at a time and we were waiting in the same waiting room. Looking back on it now, I realize that all of us at that time were Nogizaka. We were all called together as Nogizaka46.
Kakki: Yeah we were called together.
Seira: At that time, I was next to Kakki, and Kakki suddenly said something like, "I have a hole in my lung." The place started getting tense! It was also the first time for me to hear such a thing, so I was like, "What does it mean to have a hole in your lung ...?" Then Kakki said, "I've had it several times ..., ah, I'm called!" Kakki went ahead of me. After that, I was half worried about my nervousness and half worried about Kakki's lungs (LOL)! I was called after that, and Kakki was there when I entered the room, so I told her, "I'm relieved ...."
Kakki: I'm sorry. I made you worry like that. But you were the one who talked with me the most. I got along with Seira before I joined Nogizaka46. (At that time) I had unilaterally liked you.
Seira: That makes me happy.
Kakki: You're a year older than me, so you're like a big sister. You spoke in Kansai dialect and was very friendly, so I could talk to you about anything.
Seira: We stayed in the same hotel, right? I greeted Kakki's mom on phone (LOL)! I said, "We have made it to the same group, I'm Hayakawa, nice to meet you." And she was like, "Ah! Nice to meet you too, Seira-chan!"
Kakki: That brings back memories! I have a timeline at hand now.
Seira: Amazing! It takes me back to the times I appeared on SCHOOL OF LOCK. Oh! Very nostalgic. The first time I appeared in the live broadcast class, with Kakki and Yuri-chan (10 September 2020). It was super nerve-wracking!
Kakki: It was!
Seira: And when the principal and vice principal got really excited with "Aitakatta Kamoshirenai" during the call handshake (10 June 2021)! It was so much fun now that I think about it again, I clearly remember it! How nostalgic. I also made a surprise (appearance) when Kakki first became an assistant homeroom teacher at SCHOOL OF LOCK (8 April 2021).
Kakki: You actually came! I literally cried...
Seira: So nostalgic. I remember it so much! And when the new beginning (after lockdown; no CD release) had just began. When was it? 2021?
Kakki: 28 January 2021. Two years has passed!?
Seira: What a newness.
Kakki: How nostalgic! How old are you now?
Seira: I'm about to be 23.
Kakki: 23 years old!
Seira: And this recording day is ....
Kakki: It's August 8th.
Seira: Kakki's birthday! Happy birthday!
Kakki: I'm turning 22.
Seira: Alright, here's your birthday present.
Kakki: Right now!? You gotta be lying.
Seira: (LOL) Congrats!
Kakki: Thank you. This makes me so happy.
Seira: I heard that you have been working really hard on the tour, I thought I'd like you to feel healed when you take a bath, so here's some bath stuff.
Kakki: So happy! So happy!
Seira: We're the same age for a bit.
Kakki: Oh, right!?
Seira: Since my birthday will come on the 24th of this month, we're the same age just for a bit.
Kakki: I'm glad! On your 23rd birthday, you will be graduating as well.
Seira: That's true. I was kind of lost about deciding my graduation date. My photobook will be released on the 29th, though.
Kakki: What's the title?
Seira: "Mata Itsuka" (lit. Until then; See you again).
Kakki: Everyone, it's "See you again"!
Seira: It's "See you again", so I thought of matching it (the graduation date and the photobook release date), but I ended up going with my birthday.
Kakki: It's a special day.
Seira: So I want everyone to congratulate me! I'm sorry for saying on the premise that you'd support me (LOL).
Kakki: I wonder how I would feel about celebrating it. Maybe like, "Seira-chan, happy birthday! Ah, but, ah ..., congratulations! But ...."
Seira: Since it's also a celebration, you gotta be cheerful.
Kakki: That's right.
Seira: (We should celebrate) because I have made the decision that I wanted to graduate. And you have Jingu coming up.
Kakki: Yeah.
Seira: It's the next day, starting from the 25th.
Kakki: Yes, yes! I'll root for you.
Seira: Thank you. I'll root for you too.
Kakki: Thank you.
Seira: I gotta cheer for you, on the Jingu.
Kakki: As you should! On the Jingu live! Well, lastly, I'm going to show you a message that was sent to Seira.
Seira: Yeay!
"Radio name: Kinoko Yama no In, from Mie Prefecture, 15 years old.
Good evening, Haruka-sensei and Seira-sensei! The first radio program that I listened to was Nogizaka LOCKS, which featured Seira-sensei and Haruka-sensei! I was still in middle school at that time, struggling with relationships and high school entrance exams, so it was dreadful to go to school every day. However, I was encouraged by the cheerful vibe and positive words of Seira-sensei and Haruka-sensei at that time, and the song "Out of the blue" which I heard for the first time, so I managed to go to school for the remaining days and until the graduation ceremony.
From that point, I began to love Nogizaka. Now that I'm a high schooler, I'm blessed with good people and I enjoy my school life. However, sometimes I hit the wall. During those times, I listen to "Out of the blue" again and see the smiles of the 4th generation to cheer myself up. Seira-sensei, Haruka-sensei, thank you very much for always bringing smiles to my face!"
Seira: You're very welcome. Thank you very much for sending us this wonderful message. 15 years old!? You sound mature. Thank you.
Kakki: Thank you very much!
Seira: I see. If you've gotten through your troubled times and are now going to school well, then we couldn't be any happier.
Kakki: True. That's a relief.
Seira: When I was in middle school, I too had troubles with relationships. I spent so many times alone, and I had to go to a high school in which there was no one from my middle school because I wanted to change the environment completely .... I was very troubled at that time, so when I heard that this child was cheered up by our fun conversations, I feel as if I'm saving my past self and I'm very happy.
Kakki: How wonderful. But that's why we're doing this job.
Seira: That's right.
Kakki: For real, for the past four years, or almost five years. In five years, I think there are so many fans that have been cheered up by Seira.
Seira: No, that's ....
Kakki: You could do that here as well!
Seira: Right, I'm glad. When I was doing my job, I felt frantic every day, even when I thought I was aware (of the job) and knew what I was doing, but now that I'm quitting, I realize how grateful I am to have been able to do it. I have a lot of love and affection for SCHOOL OF LOCK! Hold up, it's getting sad now ....
Kakki: It's sad, yeah ....
Seira: I feel like I'm directly receiving power from the students. We have been told, "You're cheering me up!" But I think it is a program that cheers us up too. I'm sure there will be many more visits from the Nogizaka46 members, and I hope you will continue to support this program a lot in the future. And please protect Kakki's cute smile. Please lend your support to this program! Thank you so much!
โ€”
["Out of the blue" is playing the background]
Kakki: The song we're presenting you is "Out of the blue" by Nogizaka46. We have memories about this song.
Seira: Yeah! It was the first and last song I got to serve as the center, and we the 4th generation also got to participate in many music shows on TV. Now that I listen to this song, it deeply moves me. Please sing it a lot from now on.
Kakki: I will! I will sing it on and on.
Seira: You and Mayutan should be the double center!
Kakki: REALLY!? I'll tell Mayutan, "Let's do it together!"
Kakki: 'Kay! Only two weeks left until your graduation. And you'll have a photobook coming out in the meantime!
Seira: It would be bad if I get sick now. That's right.
Kakki: Right! Have lots of fun!
Seira: Thank you.
Kakki: Thank you for today. It was fun!
Seira: I was healed.
Kakki: Me too. It's already the time to end the class. I'll see you next week in this classroom! It's been the assistant homeroom teacher, Nogizaka46's Kaki Haruka and ....
Seira: Hayakawa Seira!
Kakki & Seira: Bye, bye!

- While the other members sing on "Nogizaka Star Tanjou!", you seem to be enjoying it more than anyone else.
When it's my turn to sing, I feel like I become less nervous if everyone seems to have fun. Therefore, when it's my turn to watch, I feel that the atmosphere is nice, so I try to respond positively. The fans who know I'm not the type of person who says "Yeay!" told me, "Seeing you doing your best at the audience seat makes me want to do my best as well."
- So "The Happy Person" is not your public image?
I have "The Happy Person" in me, but it's not always like that. I tend to see the good in people, but it couldn't be helped that I think about them negatively. However, when a friend told me, "Everyone only shows the part of themselves that looks happy, but each one of us has our own struggles," I noted that in my heart.
- The unit song "Moshimo Kokoro ga Toumei Nara" which you participated in has lyrics that expose the inside of the heart, and in the MV, you could expressed the emotions.
I think I've been able to express myself through what I've gained from my troubled times in my 3 years as a Nogizaka46 member. When I watched the MV, I was deeply moved, "I could make this kind of face."
- I think it's amazing that you could make such expression.
I followed the instructions from the director and pulled it out with my own abilities. When I actually watched the finished video, the message of the lyrics came to my mind, so I thought that the creators behind it are amazing.
- You have become a new regular in "Rajira!". Since you have the ad-lib ability, I think you are suitable for it.
The staff said that to me too, but I'm worried if it would be okay since I don't have the soothing atmosphere like the seniors (Hoshino Minami and Ozono Momoko) who have been regulars so far. I want to be able to affirm myself more.

And thank you very much for everything. I haven't said it much, but up until now, there were times when I thought it might be so painful that I wanted to quit. I think I was able to run through to the very end because all of you were there for me. Thank you very much.
I think the tale of Nogizaka will continue from here and on, so I would be happy if you continue to give the members a lot of support.
Today I feel like I'm the happiest birthday girl celebrated in the world. โ˜บ๏ธ
Thank you for the wonderful time until the end.

Uga: What did make you take the Nogizaka's audition?
Seira: My big brother has always been very fond of Nogizaka and he told me, "Why don't you give it a shot?" Then I felt like taking it.
Koyama: Did your big brother tell you like, "Go get someone's autograph!" when his little sister joined?
Seira: It's nothing like that! He got irritated after it was decided (that i made it). He was like, "My little sister will be a bother, won't she?" It was like as if he could no longer support (the group) with an unmixed feeling (LOL). Now he only supports me from a parental point of view.
Uga: I see! (LOL).
โ€”
Uga: This time, we have Hayakawa-san here because you often write letters, right?
Seira: I write (letters) at milestones, I like to receive them, and I often write in response to people too.
Koyama: Is there any trigger that made you do that?
Seira: I have loved writing letters since I can remember. I wrote so many letters to my mother that she even set up a letter box in our house.
Koyama: Even now, do you still write letters to your mother?
Seira: I no longer write that many, but I do write to her on her birthday and when I give her presents.
Koyama: Your mother must have all the letters you have written to her up until now.
Seira: She said she keeps them in a big box.
Uga: Do you have a favorite letterhead, or envelope, or maybe postcard?
Seira: I like slightly retro postcards. If I find myself in a general store and get attracted to it, I would buy it even if I don't plan on writing. After buying, I would start planning what to write on it.
Koyama: You obviously receive fan letters as well. Do you read them all?
Seira: Yes, they are in the office. And I read them from end to end, even though there is a little time lag (since the letters were written).
Koyama: Is there any fan letter that left a lasting impression on you?
Seira: Nogizaka has a talk session (with fans). We're currently doing it online, but there was a time when I was told, "I want to work hard in job hunting, so please cheer me up!" by one of my fans. I told them, "Do your best!" and then they wrote me a letter, telling me that they found a job. I think it made me really happy in doing my work.
Koyama: So you sent a yell of encouragement, which cheered that person up and got them into the company of their dreams. That's great, a job that creates a turning point in someone's life!
Seira: For real, I'm incredibly happy!
Uga: Do you exchange letters with people you actually know?
Seira: Yes, with friends, family members, and also the members, and so on.
Uga: You meet them, but you go out of your way to write for them.
Seira: I do it on their birthdays, or at the time of my senior's graduation. Also one of my seniors, Ikuta Erika-san has been having a theater stage performance. And since I have been unable to visit her these days due to the corona outbreak, I wrote her a letter on the spot after (watching) the performance and handed it to the manager to deliver it to her.
Uga: That's a great idea, since it's impossible to meet and greet her at backstage now.
Seira: I really wanted to convey the emotion I felt right after watching the performance. It was like my brush ran fast.
Uga: I will copy you on that (LOL).
Koyama: Is the relationship between senior and junior members kind of rigid?
Seira: Basically, they treat me kindly. But after all, they also give me a lot of attention when it comes to important stuff. I really depend on them.
Uga: Say, Hayakawa-san, what's the most memorable letter you have ever received?
Seira: I once received a letter and a book together from my mother when I was 15 years old. And the letter said, "I think you are at the turning point between a child and an adult, so why don't you read this book to organize your feelings and cultivate your way of thinking?"
Koyama: What was the book?
Seira: It was a book called "Nishi no Majo ga Shinda" (The Witch of the West is Dead).
[The book has been adapted into a movie with the same title.]
โ€”
[Next corner: Seira reads a letter she had written beforehand]
Seira: I wrote this to my grandma who lives in kyoto ... I'm getting embarrassed.
"To Grandma.
Recently, I often think of Grandma and the trips we used to take together. Whenever I feel a little down at work, or when I have a painful time, I remember the good times we used to have. I feel very much better when I remember the good times we had in the past.
The buffalo we rode on taketomi island, the sea grapes we ate at the Kokusai-dori Market, the corn we ate every year in the lavender fields of furanoโ€”Grandma's favorite place, the rafting and hot air ballooning, and the potato chips we ate on the ropeway. Our memories have no ending.
I heard from Mom that you have been feeling unwell lately. Are you alright? I have been missing you so much because of my work and the corona outbreak that it's very lonesome. I heard that your store has fewer customers than before because of the corona outbreak. I know it's a lot of hard work, and sometimes things continue to be difficult, but I am most happy when Grandma is healthy.
Take lots of rest when you can, rely on mom to take care of the store, take it easy and get well soon. when you get well and the corona outbreak settles down, let's take lots of trips together again. This time, I'd like to be the one who takes you. I hope you live a healthy and long life. I love you so much.
From Seira."
Koyama: You sure travel with your grandmother to lots of places!
Seira: My grandmother loves to travel very much, but she can't go very often due to the corona outbreak and I can't go either due to my works. Also she's not in a good shape right now, so she can't go as much as she would like to. I've been really concerned about her lately, so I took this opportunity to write (a letter) to her.
Uga: That's very kind of you.
Koyama: When the outbreak settles down, if you were to travel together, where would you like to go?
Seira: I want to take her out of the country. It seems that my grandfather and grandmother met in Rome ....
Koyama: ROME!?
Uga: How romantic!!
Seira: Hence I would like to take her to Rome for a bit.
Koyama: How did they meet in Rome??
Seira: I heard they met while traveling.
Uga: A true Roman holiday, isn't it?
โ€”
Uga: Hayakawa-san, i guess many young people have not written so many letters, do you have any advice or that would make them want to write?
Seira: It's not an unexpected pleasure when I receive a letter or find one in the mailbox, but the day suddenly becomes brighter (when I receive it), so I think delivering such feelings to others will brighten my own day, too. Everyone, why don't you try writing letters?

- It's well-known that you two are good friends, but since when did you become close?
Mayu: I think it was when we played in "Nogizaka46's Version: Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" ....
Seira: No, we had been close even before that. I talked to everyone in the 4th generation. It's just the difference in the bar of "friendship", isn't it?
Mayu: Yeah, it wasn't "friendship" for me back then (LOL). When I first joined, I thought, "She's flexible and good at dancing."
Seira: I remembered her as the girl with #1 audition number. When we first joined the group, the Tokyo team and rural team had different schedules, so we couldn't talk much. Her hair was light-colored, so I thought of her like, "Yankee!?" (LOL).
Mayu: I DON'T have the yankee in me! I used to think of Seira like, "She's a beautiful person, but her personality seemed to be tough (LOL)."
Seira: HOLD UP.
Mayu: But I do think we did become friends through Sailor Moon.
Seira: Yeah, we spent a lot of time together, so it came out naturally.
Mayu: Yhere was a scene where we were both in so we started talking about how we felt. That's how I came to know her. She was like ... an auntie from Osaka.
Seira: WHICH PART!?
Mayu: HEY, I'm not done talking yet! I mean you have an elegant side, but you're also flirty. I just wanted to say I started seeing many sides of you!
Seira: Or you just really wanted to call me "auntie".
Mayu: It's not like that! Basically Seira has beautiful manners. Such as the way she walks. But she just called me "yankee" earlier.
Seira: (LOL) I did. Well, through Sailor Moon we did become close enough to consult with each other about our activities. I'd say, "Hey, listen!" to her. It's not always like I ask for advice, though. But she still manages to be a good listener, so when I tell her about small things in my daily life she would smile and listen.
Mayu: Did you even ask me for advice? I don't think so ... I forget things easily (LOL).
Seira: Please DON'T forget!
Mayu: The reason why I consult with Seira is because she wouldn't just say, "It will be fine," but she would tell me about things clearly. She gives her honest opinions, so I can understand what I have to do. I'm always helped by that.
- Is there any memory of just the two of you?
Mayu: Yeah. There was a time when I kept saying, "I'll do my best." I did that too much on my regular program that I started to sound like a painful girl. I cried out to Seira as hard as I could.
Seira: Hey, I'm younger than you, you know (LOL).
Mayu: I dont think I've had an interesting life so I didn't know how to give good responses. Even so, I could continue to do my works and it's thanks to Seira.
Seira: Mayutan and I are among the older members of the 4th generation, so the staff often ask us to take care of the younger girls. We're on the same boat, so I know what she's thinking. When Mayutan was firstly appointed as the center for the song "Nekojita Chamomile Tea", I couldn't help but call her. I was really glad I could know her problems.
Mayu: I was really worried about being a center while the 4th generation was gaining momentum, but I was relieved when Seira called me.
- When was the moment you felt the bond with all the 4th generation?
Seira: It was the stage play "3-nin no Principal" two years ago for me. We competed on the condition that only three members could perform in the second act, but no matter who was chosen, it was a stage to celebrate.
Mayu: For me it was the first live performance we were able to do after the 16 of us had joined the 4th generation. During rehearsals, it was difficult for the 16 of us to keep in step, so we discussed and confirmed the choreography so many times. After the live, the staff told us, "You are now properly Nogizaka," and I cried with Seira (LOL).
Seira: I felt that the 16 of us had made it through. The fans were warm, everyone danced in the center, and I think everyone shined.
Mayu: Another unforgettable moment was when we climb up the mountain to pray for the hit campaign! Some of the members including myself had to retire halfway up the mountain, but I was happy to see them climb to the top holding on to their trekking poles.
- What are you looking ahead to in the future?
Seira: This is the first time for me to be a member of the senbatsu, and I'm spending my time feeling once again how great my seniors are. It has been announced that junior members will be joining the group in the future, and I would like to be a person who can support my juniors just as I was supported by my seniors.
Mayu: I want to plan a project that will help all the 16 of us get to know each other better. There are too many of us (LOL). I want to go to Kansai. Oh, right, we got some members whose family live in Kansai. I would like to stay at the Hayakawa and Yumiki families!
Seira: Our house is not big enough to accommodate such a large group!

From Ballet to Musicals, the Girl Who Continues to Stand on Stage Since Her Childhood
- Hayakawa-san who is said to be in acting sector among the 4th generation of Nogizaka46, did you have any acting experience?
When I was little, I participated in a local musical during summer holidays. My mom told me that she would buy me a bicycle if I passed the audition, and I wanted that (lol). - (Lol). You participated every year, right?Yes. It was fun to make friends, hence I started to participate every year.
- I heard that you were also learning classical ballet.
That's right. My mom used to do ballet when she was little, so she already had leotards for me even before I was born. Therefore, I started learning naturally. I took a break when I was about to take the entrance exam though, but until then I had always been doing it all the time. Even after entering Nogizaka46 and coming to Tokyo, I tried to find classes and go when I have time.
- So you do like ballet.
That's the only thing that I've been doing for a long time. Therefore, rather than my actual love for it, the thought of "I've been doing it since forever, so I will just do it" played a bigger factor.
- But if you're not attracted to doing ballet, you would not be able to continue that far. What is the appeal of it?
You can face yourself when you do ballet. By seeing yourself dancing through the mirror, you can see not only how beautiful you are dancing, but also your facial expressions and movements. If you dance with a feeling that doesn't float, it will be seen in your movements. I think ballet will hone you through such experiences.
The Rivals Are Not the Others, but the "Yesterday's Self"
- After joining Nogizaka46, you won the fan-vote for 11 out of 16 performances in the 4th generation's first stage play "3-nin no Principal" and appeared in the second act. How was this experience?
After all, it was painful because it was revealed in front of me whether I was selected or not, and there was a great conflict within myself. But I think I got more than that. I realized that it was a fight against myself. - Fight against yourself? At first, I was just comparing myself to the others, such as "She is quick to remember the lines," or "She is praised." However, during that period one of the staff said, "It's a fight against yourself," and from that point on, the comparison target gradually became "my yesterday's self". It became like "Did I sing better than 'my yesterday's self'? Did I dance better than 'my yesterday's self'?" The rival is no other than my yesterday's self. I think I still think that way even after the stage play ended.
- You appeared as Sailor Mars in "Nogizaka46 Musical 'Sailor Moon' 2019". Did you know the work "Sailor Moon" well?
I knew it. Since my name is Seira, I was often called "Sailor Moon" (ใ‚ปใƒผใƒฉใƒผใƒ ใƒผใƒณ: Seeraa Muun) when I was little (LOL). However, I didn't watch the original manga nor the anime, so I bought and read the them after my appearance was decided. I actually had never read shojo manga before, so it became the first one in my life.
- Did you really enjoy it?
Yes. My feelings for the play have become very strong. During the "Principal" period, I was desperate to learn the lines, and I wasn't able to deepen my ability to play the roles*, but during the "Sailor Moon" period, I was able to concentrate on one role and pull it off for the first time. I went to Azabu Hikawa Shrine which is the model of Rei-chan (the real name of Sailor Mars)'s house, read the manga, and watched the anime. I really enjoyed the time when I prepared to play the role while talking with the other members as well.
- It's a very popular work, but how was the reaction around you?
The 4th generation members came to see me and said, "I too want to be a Sailor Mars." My genmates were like me, we were not able to stream "Sailor Moon" real time, but they watched it when the anime was re-aired. I wonder if the girls felt the same way (about me) as the Sailor Moon whom they admired back then. I was very happy.
*T/N: I assume it was because the roles of "Principal" were decided by fan-vote where the fans picked the roles they thought suit the members. The members performed on the same day after the roles were announced. Therefore, she couldn't be sure which role she had to deepen her ability on.
Selected As the Heroine of the Stage Play "Sumaho wo Otoshita Dakenanoni"
- And this time, it was decided that you will appear on the stage play "Sumaho wo Otoshita Dakenanoni". It was already made into a movie starring Kitagawa Keiko and became a hot topic. Did you watch it?
Yes. But I was scared and couldn't watch it (at first).
- (LOL).
I checked the synopsis of what the story was about, prepared my mind, and then watched it (LOL).
- How was it?
It was interesting! It wasn't the ghostly scary thing like I had imagined, so it was all fine (LOL). I'm completely addicted to it, and I'm also reading the original novel. I even read it back last night preparing for this interview. I couldn't stop reading after I started, to the point that even I still am wondering about the what's going to happen in the book next (LOL).
- Which part do you like?
It's like "I was deceived!" (LOL). Because I like figuring things out, it was really fun to think about how it was drawn from the perspectives of various people, there were thoughts like "Whose perspective is this?" Or "How would they pull it off on the stage play?" The process of finding out the truth is also very fun, so I hope I can solve the mystery alongside the audience on the stage play.
- This will be your first heroine on stage play alone, which means there are no Nogizaka46 members around.
That's right. I feel lonely ....
- I think the fact you have decided to work alone in this way means that you have expectations from the people around you. How is it?
The staff often asked, "Is it fun to work on the stage?" The 4th generation members also said, "I want to see you more on stage," so I feel very rewarded. About "Sumaho wo Otoshita Dakenanoni" too, they also said "I'll definitely go to see it," so I will work very hard to do my best.
Whether to Join Nogizaka46 or Go on to Higher Level of Education, Such a Big Choice in Life
- You joined Nogizaka46 in August 2018. What was the reason for applying for the audition in the first place?
I took the audition with a recommendation from my family.
- So you didn't want to be an idol?
I auditioned when I was in the third year of high school, but until then I was planning to go on to university. Therefore, I actually was sent to a cram school since the second year of high school.
- Were you prepared when you passed?
I wondered, "Is it okay?" "Am I really going to Tokyo alone?" "Is it okay to go on living like this?" I was thinking of going to university to study and find a typical job. I wanted a stable life (LOL).
- You literally jumped into a world that is the exact opposite of stability.
Yes โ€ฆ. When I thought that this decision would change my life, I was very worried that I even consulted with my homeroom teacher. After all, I can go to university later if I want to go. But then I thought, "entering Nogizaka46 can only be done now!" So I decided on this one.
- What did you think when you passed the Sakamichi Joint Audition and knew you were assigned to Nogizaka46?
I thought, "I'm glad I put it somehow." (LOL).
- So you weren't really thinking about which group you wanted to join.
I didn't know which group I would fit in. Of course, I was very happy when I knew I was assigned to join Nogizaka46!
- How was it when you first met the members?
I was overwhelmed by the aura. I still remember the first time I met them. Everyone had a really sophisticated beauty that I couldn't even put it into words anymore. I was super nervous ....
- Are you still nervous even until now?
I can speak more than before. I have more opportunities to work with my seniors, and I've gradually come to understand their personalities, also I think I'm not really a shy person since the beginning.
The Growth of Nogizaka46 Leads to My Own Growth
- It has been a year and a half since I joined Nogizaka46. I think you have had a lot of experience with singing and dancing lessons, recording CDs, shooting music videos, recording TV shows, etc. Do you feel that you have changed?
My top priority has changed somehow.
- Top priority?
It may not be very good to say, but I was thinking only about myself at first. It was something like "How can I live in this group?" Or "What am I looking for and what do I want to do?"
- Of course you would think so.
But over the past year, I've often felt that the group is building me up. I got my seniors who do things very well, and I also have a lot of media releases with my genmates. It's all thanks to the seniors who have made Nogizaka46 bigger. I'm often made aware of the fact that it's thanks to the group that I'm able to appear on the stage play "Sumaho wo Otoshita Dakenanoni". That's why I also started to think of the group as my top priority. Of course, there are times when I think about myself, but more than that, I also started thinking "I want to contribute to the group" and "If the group can grow, I can grow as well."
- Usually, people would notice something like that after a few years of working experience, but you quickly arrived at that point.
I think it's because I'm blessed with the seniors and staffs who also think that way. Nogizaka46 is filled with kind people, so I get attracted to Nogizaka46 that it has become an important existence. Over the past year, my love for the group has grown tremendously.
- Hayakawa-san was originally not familiar with idols, but what kind of profession and existence do you think idols are now after working as a member of Nogizaka46?
I think it's a profession that can make people feel positive. I like working on TV and radio, but I especially like the time when I can meet the fans directly, such as during live and theatrical performances. A good performance will make everyone smile. Seeing everyone's facial expressions makes me feel better. If I'm able to show my true self and they are happy about it, I would be happy too. I think idols are a wonderful job to create such a relationship with fans.
- What kind of fans do you have, Hayakawa-san?
They are very encouraging. I think I can do live concerts, handshake events, and works because of them. I feel really helped, so I'll do my best to give back as much as possible.
What kind of person is Seira Hayakawa?
- Finally, I would like to ask Hayakawa-san about yourself, so we have prepared a questionnaire corner.
1. Your personal current trend?
โ†’ Soaking in the bathtub for a long time. Since I started living alone in Tokyo, it's fun to be able to occupy the bathroom by myself (laughs).ย It's cold now, I can warm myself up slowly.
2. What do you do on your days off?
โ†’ Watch movies, go to ballet class, go shopping, or stay at home the whole day.
3. What do you like about your hometown Osaka?
โ†’ A place where people are easy going and talking to each other always feels fun. After all, whenever I return to my hometown, I feel relaxed.
- But when you talk about it like this, I don't feel like you are from Osaka, including your dialect.
It's because I hide it! I'm interviewed for "Sumaho wo Otoshita Dakenanoni", so I thought I would be more like an actress if I didn't speak in the Kansai dialect (LOL).
4. What do you want to be when you are reborn?
I want to be a tree when I'm reborn. Something like camphor tree.
- A tree โ€ฆ? (LOL).
I want to live long. I want to see various kinds of periods. Isn't there a 1000-year-old tree? I think want to be that kind of tree.
