5 Reasons You Should Add Salt to Your Diet
Many people believe that the human body is not good at regulating salt levels. This is not the truth. Many scientific studies have revealed that salt benefits human body in a number of ways. According to a salt guide, there are four types of salt, such as:
Tumblr media
• Table salt- It is a mineral that primarily contains sodium chloride. It can also be defined as a natural form of the crystalline mineral.
• Sea salt- Sea salt is not a natural element. It is produced by the evaporation of seawater. It is used for seasoning and preserving food, manufacturing cosmetics, etc.
• Himalayan pink rock salt- It is a pinkish salt that can be found in the Punjab region of modern Punjab.  Mineral impurities have given pink color to this salt.  It can be used for cooking, food seasoning, decorating lamps, and spa treatment.
• Celtic grey sea salt- It is a kind of manmade salt. It would be better to define it as a sub-category of sea salt.
However, the widely used salt is not any one of these four. It is natural salt.  By adding this salt to your regular diet, you will benefit your body in a number of ways.  Here, we are going to discuss five key health benefits of this salt.
• Keeps your body hydrated
Keeping your body hydrated is always important. For this, you will have to maintain a balance of sodium and potassium. As your body follows sodium, there are chances that your body will retain water.  Potassium plays vital role in balancing this. That’s why it is important to have salt regularly.
• Promotes vascular health
Salt, sea salt, in particular, fights off heart diseases. Where excessive intake of normal salt is strictly prohibited for patients who are suffering from heart disease and vascular problems, a pinch of sea salt is good for them. However, the amount must not be excessive.
• Controls electrolytes and heals muscle cramping
Salt is an amazing source of electrolytes.  These elements are able to prevent muscle cramping caused by exercise or excessive physical activities.  Salt also contains sodium, potassium, and calcium. Each of these minerals is immensely useful for the human body.  These elements, all together contribute to maintaining your health in a good state. The human body is not able to produce these elements. Therefore, it is important to export these elements to your body.  Having salt with food may help you intake all these elements together.
• Promotes sleep
Have you ever imagined that salt could have an impact on sleep? Yes, it has. Salt makes human body health. It promotes sound sleep. Though doctors advise not to eat salt before bed, you can take. Wait a minute! Doctors advise not to take table salt. You can take sea salt before bed. It will help you get a sound sleep.
Bottom Line
Before excluding salt from your daily diet, you need to consider this salt guide once. Then you will realise how important salt is for the human body. Don’t compromise with your health!
