Text
Liking someone can be both a blessing and a curse.
Love—an intense feeling of deep affection, a strong emotional attachment—has so much to offer. But is it really worth all the pain?
So, what does love offer you? It gives you the comfort of knowing someone is there for you, someone standing in your corner like a lighthouse in a storm. Suddenly, the sun seems to shine a little brighter, the trees sway like dancers in the wind, and the birds sing songs just for you. It’s magical, right? Everyone has felt this—whether it’s for a crush, a partner, or a spouse.
But love doesn’t come without consequences.
When you really like someone, you begin to shift—sometimes without even realizing it. You mold yourself to fit their world, hoping they’ll notice. You spend more time perfecting your appearance, staring into mirrors that only seem to reflect your flaws. Doubt creeps in like shadows at dusk, and before long, you become a stranger to yourself. The worst part? You can’t choose who your heart clings to. You feel like a bird trapped in a cage built by your own emotions—longing for freedom, yet unable to fly.
Your heart wants what it wants.
Sometimes, it chooses the most unexpected person. No warning, no explanation. And suddenly, everything about them matters—their laugh, their habits, their favorite things. You dive so deep into their world that you forget to breathe. You become a collector of their details, while your own story gathers dust on the shelf.
Without even noticing, you start drifting away—from the people who care about you, the hobbies that once lit you up inside. Isn’t it strange how you can memorize someone else’s life while forgetting your own?
You’re only a teenager once. You only live once.
I know the phrase is worn out like an old song, but it still carries truth. This chapter won’t last forever. So don’t spend it chasing someone who doesn’t see the magic in you. Dance in the rain, laugh too loud, and live for yourself. Because when the music stops, and the moment fades, you’ll want to look back and know you lived fully—not for someone else, but for you.
You can’t force love.
It arrives like the wind—unpredictable and wild—but when it’s real, it stays. One day, you’ll be someone’s first choice, not their backup plan.
So, in the end, I didn’t write this to scold you. I wrote it as a reminder: don’t let love become the thief that steals your spark. Life has more to offer than a single interest. Don’t lose yourself trying to be someone else’s everything.
And I’ll leave you with this:
“Love can taste like the sweetest wine, lifting you higher with every sip — but when it turns, it burns like poison, slow and unforgiving.”
