I feel like Steve would have a very Snotlout, Hookfang type relationship with his dragon. ( the dragon being very nonchalant about the whole experience and tolerating Steve’s enthusiasm and general Steve antics.)

Jim’s Dragon friend has a big heart, just like him. And is the first dragon in my story concept to find Arcadia. (And may or may not also become Jim’s therapy dragon. Boy does he need one.)

Blinkys not so sure about the whole wild dragon thing, he’s more of the ‘I’ll stay where my feet reach the ground thank you very much!’ Kind of troll.

Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the Deady Gailslash that’s become particularly fond of him. Heaven’s knows why? 🙃

Claire befriends a dragon with a particularly unique ability that orientates around fear and light within shadow, which greatly reflects a lot of herself.

Aaarrrgghhs just ecstatic to have made a new friend.

Toby, he’s loving every minute of it. And may have named the twin dragons after a hot pepper.

I definitely ment to mirror the original dragon riders in this from Httyd. If you couldn’t tell, as technically this is history repeating itself. ( I’m not counting the nine realms show, that is not cannon, but TOA and Httyd same universe are.)

I’ve been developing this concept for a long time, as of now it’s just art, but once everything is finalised I will be doing a fanfic on this, so keep an eye out if your interested.😁

he Help Jim and Claire many times but the Worm thing is funny.

Toby (So freaking canon, especially early s1 Toby would easily lose to a worm. Blinky (He canonically did I think when he turned to a human, he stole those clothes from a random trolls clothesline.)

i wanna Say that i do agree that Claire was really Impulsive about her brother at the Start but it wasn't because She didn't care about Jim Safety or want him to go to the Darklands alone She desperately wanted to get her brother back because She felt Like She betray him by not being there for him. more ever While he didn't intent too Jim did mess up her house it's True that She Shouldn't break into his house. but him trying to impress so bad with the grit Shaka def didn't help either both are at fault here.

and i Know he Save form the Goblins but they are nothing to what Jim had face by this Point because She just ran away to see what happened with Nomura. just that Jim was laying on the ground. and i don't think She fully understand what Jim was going through by this Point

However Claire did Grow and understand how dangerous Jim's Life is After She met Angor rot and Lose the Killing Stone.

in a Night to remember She Said your mom Life is more important then a Stupid Dance. if Jim Joined them They Likely would have easier time beating Angor rot and the Spell for his mom and Also most Likely would go to Save her brother faster but She understood that Jim's mom needed him if Jim wasn't there She Probably wouldn't have harder time to Keep herself together Showing that Claire has for more Matured then when She was in return of The Trollhunter.

in hiss hiss bang bang Toby was more mad at Jim then Claire because he felt Like Jim betrayed them Especially because they did everything together until this Point i do agree that we Should've got more interactions before they call him out but i totally understand toby's point Claire just Said you promise we are going to get my brother together and we protect each other.

When Jim Said So Something Good did come out of the Darklands Claire Just Cheer him up by Saying that because of him her brother came back.

Sorry for the Long Rant i totally get your Points i Just have to Say it but irks me how fans Completely take it too far and Say things that aren't true about the Characters.

All of this is true too and I already read ur reblog where you said this but I didn’t reply to it because I didn’t really want to be redundant, sorry if it felt like I was ignoring u on purpose I promise I wasn’t 😅

I’m gonna start this off by clarifying that I feel like the show had immaculate writing, there was literally nothing that I would change about it. Not a single scene. Whenever I bring up a rant like this one, I’m just talking about how Jim obtains traumatic event after traumatic event all on top of each other, it wasn’t in my intention to imply that the other characters are bad people, but they had no way of knowing what Jim experienced in the dark lands so they didn’t know how to react or how he would react to being told off. They aren’t bad people, they literally just didn’t know.

One of your points is that Toby was more upset than Claire was and that Toby was more mad about being betrayed while Claire was just upset that he had put himself in danger all alone to get her brother back when they specifically said they would do it together, and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I personally feel like Toby had more of a “right” to feel that way. Up until that point he had been there for Jim with everything, he never asked Jim to go into the darklands (I’m NOT saying Claire was wrong for that, just saying Toby could be more upset about it because of that), and he wasn’t just there for Jim since they found the amulet. He was his best friend from before either of them had lost a single baby tooth. He was there for Jim when his dad left, he was there for Jim for 10 years after that, all he wanted was to be there for Jim in the darklands, and Jim denied him that. Of course Claire wanted to be able to “make up to her brother for betraying him” (I put that in quotes because while she blamed herself for it, we as the viewer know it wasn’t her fault) but Jim also denied her that. Maybe if she had gone into the darklands too as a part of the rescue mission for Enrique, she would have felt like she “made up” for neglecting him, even though that was never her job in the first place and is a rant for a totally different day.

Allow me to end my little rant by clarifying that I agree with your points as well! I never meant to make the other characters seem like bad people, only to emphasize the impact their actions had despite being with the best intentions. That being said, I understand where you’re coming from. I also love Toby and Claire so so so so so very much and if I saw someone “taking it too far and mischaracterizing them” (to paraphrase your own words) I’d also want to defend them.

i believe(?) i read that one of the ideas for post-full-troll jim was for him to become a changeling. was there a reason he turned fully human again instead? thank you!!

For Wizards, we’d originally planned for Claire to use her new mastery over dark magic to turn Jim into a changeling, just as Morgana originally created them back in the Middle Ages. (Merlin couldn’t do it or refused to acknowledge the possibilities its powers, because he never learned or trusted dark magic.) Jim would have been able to shift between human, half-troll and beast form at will — or perhaps via his emotions, not unlike The Hulk.

This ending was altered when those working on the follow-up film determined Jim’s arc for the movie would revolve around him coming to terms with losing his powers and being “merely human” during the magic apocalypse. Sadly, our ending simply wouldn’t work with that direction for the film.

For the curious, I’ve attached a small snippet of the original outline grid to see how it would have slotted in rather elegantly.
