Squeezed in some new OC's in my free time. Now shaping an entire chronicle around them in my head. Considering the backlog of all the other chronicles in our group, I'll be playing them in the 2030s XD

Imagine that it's year 202X and a Brujah lives in your respectable Camarilla domain. Nice British fella, you don't bother him and his camper on the outskirts of town, he doesn't bother you, you work it out. And then this guy gets kidnapped. By the SI. And you wait for your entire domain to get nuked but it doesn't. And then a few months pass and you see his camper in a different place and the guy is back. With a weird little Nosferatu freak. Who is also British.

I like to believe that the other detectives on the case remain around and help in any way they can, especially after Light dies. And that it's not enough.

And Sachiko probably doesn't know the truth.

"Light caught Kira and died for it," a bittersweet lie that Sachiko lives as Light's killer sits across from her at the table and holds her hand. And nobody dares break it because what's the point. Hasn't she suffered enough.

And Sayu used to live in Light's room after he moved out, but now she just sits there sometimes, quiet, humming around all the strange things she only notices in retrospect. She puts back the pencil lead where it always was, the paper and the doorknob, to make sure nobody enters it, and only sleeps in her own room now, under lock and key, after triple-checking every door in the house.

Sometimes the Aizawa family visit. Sayu tutors Yumi at the dinner table. The quadratic equations don't give her pause anymore, it's just that her voice slips into a different, familiar cadence. Sachiko doesn't hear, or at least pretends she doesn't, as she chats with Eriko about New Year plans. Sachiko cries herself to sleep when her daughter can't hear.

The house is lively, but in a way like something is missing, even though it's there. Aizawa, Chief of Police now, his voice just as tired sometimes as Soichiro's used to be. Mogi, Ide and Matsuda talking about some case or another, only stopping when Sachiko rolls her eyes. Yumi gushes about some new idol on TV.

Yagami Sayu closes her eyes

and pretends, for a moment, that the spot next to her at the dinner table is only empty because Light ruined his appetite again by snacking on chips before a proper meal.

Guys wait if Soichiro was the only income source for the Yagamis (considering Sachiko is a housewife and is not stated to have a job) then after he died imagine what happened

Like, imagine your husband died, your daughter got kidnapped and is paralysed, and your son is away 24/7 acting as if he isn't the killer he's chasing... and since Sayu needs help, there are obvious medical bills + therapy ... and if she has no job, then it's a whole disaster??

I feel so bad for her. The scene where she just sits at the table broke me
