Update on Charlie Bear: Charlie Bear, our gummy old man is doing so well according to foster dad, Jerome. Foster dad's been putting Vetericyn spray on his incision site to speed up recovery, which is working. Charlie Bear's been learning a few things about manners as well. He's no longer guarding his food bowl, and old man likes to frap! He and fellow QBSDR boy, Spirit love darting around the back yard, kicking up dirt! He's playful with toys and like most low-riders, enjoys laying on cool tile. He still has some pounds to shed before being at a healthy weight, but considering how much he likes to run and play, he should lose them pretty quickly. Hey guys, say hi to the bonded boys, Twinky and Gizmo! They're 7.5 and 6yrs old, spunky, energetic, loving, and very affectionate. They found themselves being surrendered to QBSDR after their owner was expecting her second child and couldn't handle the allergies and allergy meds anymore. These boys have only known each other and one family for their entire lives, but are incredibly friendly and acclimated into foster mom's home very easily. On the first night, they were running and playing with foster brofur, Steve. They're both at Banfield getting checked out due to some accidents Twinky's had at foster mom's. His last pee accident was very dark with blood so bloodwork and a urinalysis was done. Both boys will be in need of a heavy dental cleaning and could lose a couple of pounds. Twinky also has an uncomfortable looking lesion on his nose. According to his previous owners, it only occurred during the summer. It's looking a little suspicious so the vet suggests a biopsy while he's under for his dental. Paws crossed it not anything more serious. Hey guys! It's the day before the weekend...you know what that means...it's #FindAFriendFriday! This cutie pie is a 3yr old corgi/sheltie/papillon mix that's bilingual! Yup, you read that right, he understands commands in English (thanks to foster mom!) and commands in Spanish! Spencer was left at the shelter for reasons unknown. While there, he was scared and reactive, which played against him. This boy, who had most likely been a family dog his entire life, was alone, confused, and scared in a very noisy place. He was labeled "rescue only" and welcomed into QBSDR. Spencer spent some time decompressing and has since come out of his shell and is a completely different dog. He's a playful little guy that loves fetching balls, and gnawing on harder toys vs stuffies. He's a very loving and affectionate boy that enjoys cuddling and being with his person. When it comes to other dogs, Spencer tolerates them, but prefers his personal space. He's looking for a loving companion or family to call his furever home. As foster mom Rachel says: "Spencer is wonderful! He'll make someone very happy!" Spencer is potty trained, crate trained, walks well on leash, and is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and currently being fostered in the San Diego area. Check out Ace! He's been hanging out, getting to know the sights and smells of Los Angeles after making a long drive down from Portland this past weekend. Zach and Rachel patiently waited for Ace to finish his heartworm treatments in Portland before he hopped on a doggy roadtrip to LA. The meeting between Ace and his new family was such an easy and smooth transition, it couldn't have worked out better. Ace will be living it up as the only dog in the household. He even gets to go to work with mom and dad in their dog friendly office. Look out for this little guy strutting down Sunset Blvd and show him some SoCal love. What's ahead is the biggest journey of his life...!
