Phantom Party EP Release Show!
"A Year in Bed" is the new EP from Phantom Party and they're releasing it live at The Trunk Space with some great friends!! Also featuring: Troubled Minds Zero Degrees North Broke Hearts & Body Parts Phantom Party is a three-piece indie band from Phoenix's East Valley, and have been working their own brand of "indie-surf" for the past two years. Now they emerge fresh, just 8 months after releasing their debut album, with "A Year in Bed," their first foray outside of the indie-surf genre and in a sonic direction all their own. Troubled Minds, lead by Matt Aldawood who produced "A Year in Bed" bring their own brand of anthemic emo with touches of punk rock, mathcore and indie. They've been destroying the local scene for years, and show no signs of slowing down any time soon. Zero Degrees North is a three piece "geek-punk" band with both an EP and a LP under their belt who bring more energy, fun and lust for life than you'll find anywhere else in the local Phoenix music scene. Broke Hearts & Body Parts is a pop-punk band from Glendale AZ. With punchy chords, emotionally poignant lyrics and passionate vocals, Broke Hearts is an up and comer you don't want to miss.

Nakatani Gong Orchestra (Courtyard)
A handful of Phoenix musicians join forces with Tatsuya Nakatani to present the Nakatani Gong Orchestra! http://www.hhproduction.org/ngo.html "NGO, NAKATANI GONG ORCHESTRA, is a contemporary live Sound Art project that tours throughout North and Central America. NGO is a continuous, growing community engagement project; and the only bowing Gong orchestra in existence in the world today. The rich harmonies produced from multiple layers of bowed gongs are transformative, engaging and inspiring for both players and audiences. The gong bows and surrounding instrumentation equipment are handmade by Nakatani Kobo. Audience members have described a NGO performance as entirely unlike anything they have ever experienced before, often relating feelings of cleansing or a sort of purification after the event."

Murdress |Showing at Filmbar|
On the night of Friday, October 16th, 1931, Winnie Ruth Judd had a fight with her two best friends that ended in a double fatality. Two nights later, she boarded a train headed for LA, with grisly baggage that contained the bodies—one dismembered—of her former friends. When the trunks were found to be leaking blood upon arrival, Winnie was asked to open them. Claiming she forgot the key, she walked out of the station and disappeared into thin air. One week later, she surrendered in a funeral parlor, a bullet lodged in her left hand, claiming the women attacked her and that she had only shot in self defense. Oddly enough, some of the physical evidence seemed to support this story. However, instead of getting simpler the story got weirder and wilder as more became known (or unknown, depending on whose version you chose to believe), involving adultery, narcotics, mental illness, secrets and whispers of a conspiracy. To this day, the truth remains a mystery. “Murderess'” was the brainchild of writer/director Scott Coblio, a Los Angeles native. The film was shot on miniDV tape and took 3 years to complete. It debuted at Rochester New Yorks Little Theater as the anchor-piece of the “Image Out” Film Festival, where it garnered positive reviews from the local press. In 2008, the film won the Best Animated Feature award in Los Angeles at the DIY Film Fest. Screening the film annually on (or near) October 16th (the night of the murders) has become a tradition at the Trunk Space, and this year’s screening marks the 11th anniversary of that tradition
