Honestly i got curious so I looked it up, and managed to find an actual article about this topic!! (Suprisingly. Def didnt expect to find any info about it at all)

The distinct smell of lemons alone would be unappealing to the snakes (like a human smelling a candle of a sent that they dont enjoy). Due to their evolved diets, they cant digest non-meat things. They also require pure water for hydration. So, even if they were to consume citrus/lemon, it would cause a few health risks. The high acidity of lemons can disrupt the pH balance in a snake’s digestive system, leading to digestive issues and potential harm to their internal organs. As a result, feeding lemons to snakes can potentially lead to nutrient deficiencies and other health problems.

I can see that there might be a bit of a grey area here, due to the fact his snakes are.. well, linked to him. Lol. And he himself is able to consume non-meat. so it wouldn't be like, life treating or anything for his snakes. But his snakes would probably have an experience similar to a human eating smth that had spoiled/gone bad - they'd get sick (and by exstention, he himself would get sick). at least, thats how it be in my understanding.

With you having concepts of don Quixote in twst how do you think he'd get along with his dorm mates and the other names boys in nrc? You've already mentioned a little on vil and how he'd prefer if don Quixote used a potion to have not snake hair but what about epel and rook? Considering his Fae heritage and not even counting the rare part I can already imagine rook will be... Very interested to say the least. I wonder if he and epel could bond or at least have solidarity over being forced or pressured to perform in a way they don't like (removing the snakes for don Quixote and the girly cutesy look for epel) or if epel would see his fancy background and assume he's just like the rest of the pomefiore students

Hmmm, well-

He would definitely tolerate but mostly ignore/avoid rook. He finds the huntsmen unsettling, and isnt fond of being treated like an exotic animal or a trophy to mount on a mantle.. it doesnt make him feel like a person - and he wants to feel like & be viewed as a person just like everyone else. He's probably used his UM on rook at least once, in order to have some peace and solace for a short while without being stalked. Vil tried to punish him for doing that, but Rook stopped him because .. well hes Rook. He finds stuff like that fun and interesting, its hard to anger or phase him. I like Rook as a character, but hes a weirdo xD and that should be acknowledged. Rook still persists to this day, but not as intently as before. Considering his obsession with hunting leona.

Well, overall with Vil I feel like theyd be neutral to eachother. Vil is of course very full of himself, so I feel like if he overheard anyone referring to Don Quixote as pretty or "the prettiest" (which id say is a thing since not everyone thinks he looks creepy or weird, there are many lovers of "monsterous" looks) hed get grumpy- i mean we all know how he felt when Neige was considered prettier then him... Lol. I feel like there would at least be a little bit of mutual respect, but for the most part he gets under Vil's skin alot with his compliece of the dorm rules but his brunt refusal to conform to Vil's ideals & ideas of what beauty is.

Him and Epel I feel like would have a very positive connection. He would allow Epel to be his unflitered self around him, as he finds the brash country boy stuff to be a refreshing change of pace compared to his stuffy upbringing. Epel would help him learn to loosen up and act more childish for the hell of it (cuz damn this gorgon needs to relax he is so stressed all the time), and he would teach Epel that fanciness isnt all bad & can even be fun sometimes. They certainly would have comrodery with their struggles, especially with how Vil treats them & acts like a helicopter parent dictator with their appearences. Don Quixote often plays the role of a good upperclassmen (he is a 3rd year and thus on an equal leveled playing field with Vil, in a way) by covering for Epel whenever he skips out on the skincare routine, sneaking midnight snacks, or running around with the first year gang & getting into trouble.

Sorry for taking a while to respond!! I thought i had posted this, but aparently i saved it to drafts by accident lol [I also couldn't find that blue mushroom emoji.. so i just used the red mushroom]

[⚓️]: While he loves his family and his bar, he lives by the montra of "home is where the heart is". So by exstention, home is wherever he chooses it to be at any given point and time. Home is the world around him as a whole. And it will always be home to him, despite how hostile nature and humanity can be. He doesnt have one specific person or place he views as "home", but who knows- maybe that'll change one day, when all his troubles are laid to rest once and for all.

[✉️]: definitely both a letter to his past self, and a letter to his future self. The contents for the former would be reassurance, letting how he once was know that no matter how difficult life gets - things will get better, that the pain won't last forever. while the contents of the latter would be encouragement, letting whoever he will become know that he can get through anything and that he's stronger than he realizes or wishes to admit.

He does it once every year, on his birthday. As a sort of tradition. One that he has never told anyone about, but not out of shame - mainly just because its far too.. personal. And he feels like its not one else's buisness either way.

[🌒]: for you, my mutual, this one might be obvious. But- being a knight. Considering the fact that he's so deeply entwined with his mafia family and that whole shady buisness stuff, he cant really pursue the dream he has. One of freedom and hope.

Despite being on the low end of society - apart of the "scum" of society (a crime family), he is able to serve others, help them, and make them happy, during his sparse free time.. saving people from tacet discords, giving people medicine or antidotes free of charge if he sees that they desperately need it, training with his lance until his arms give out so that his body is honed to its peak... Much like a knight would. And he is happy, in that aspect.

sure he likes bartending as a part time thing/cover for criminal activity, mixology has always been something hes interested in just generally, but his life feels incomplete and hollow because he Had to do that work by obligation - for intel gathering and clientele scouting and so their darker services arent just out in the open without an excuse or lie to hide it from the law. He didnt choose to do bartending out of his own free will.. it was his family's will. Which he must abide by, especially since he is currently leading the family after the death of the prior family head (his aunt).

Even if he isn't actively pursuing that knightly dream anymore, i wouldn't say he's "totally" given up on it. Kinda more like, holding out hope he could get a chance to live that dream - even if briefly or just for a day, but for the most part its sadly just wishful thinking of a man who believes he deserves to be resigned to the life he was given. Believing that it must be some sort of punishment for something he did in a past life (its not, its just a bad lot in life). Cecilia is def an inspiration to him, though. As she is in most iterations. Perhaps he might be able to break free of his circumstances one day, after seeing how she is able to and realizing that it wouldn't be impossible for him to do after all...

[🫀]: I'd say his parents. His family is filled with... well, people who arent very intuned with emotions. His parents, while not bad people or abusive in any way, inadvertently neglected him emotionally due to they themselves either not caring or not knowing a lot about that kind of stuff. They only got together because they Had to, because it was beneficial - both financially and for power - to link their families together. Something they never really hid from him, so he has always been away of it. So, Don Quixote had to grow up with a very.. skewed idea of what love is.

Because of this, for a lot of his life, he thought it was purely transactional. Which.. lead to him not really being able to make many if any connections, platonic and romantic. Leading to him having a somewhat isolated and lonely upbringing, despite his best efforts to the contrary. but overtime he learned that wasnt the case and it rocked his world. He took a lot of time in solitude to think about it after the revelation, but embraced this new found knowledge. He is a bit of a hopeless romantic, in his own awkward & "damaged goods" kind of way.

He hopes one day he can find love with someone (even with the persistent uneasiness about having whoever he gets with become apart of the life that he is trying to escape) but until then - he wants to make sure he is the best version of himself that he can be. And prove to both himself & the world that he is even deserving of being loved in the first place, despite how much of a "monster" he is.. in both looks and occupation.

[🍄]: I'd say yes!! And its very simple: the sound(s) of the ocean. perhaps its due to the fact hes very rarely been to the coast, or due to the fact his snakes are an aquatic type of snake.. but he has always found those sounds to be soothing. They help clear his head and calm him down. Kind of like white noise, in a way. He could probably do nothing at all except listen to the sea for days without growing bored.
