One funny thing I noticed while reading fanfics which stories are situated in Sumeru is that nobody, including me, knows how on earth to spell Bimarstan properly

Currently obsessing over Kaveh and Alhaitham's core disagreement on epistemological question of what truth and knowledge is. The way I read their character stories, Alhaitham believes that the truth exists on a pure level in the world around us, and that language and cultural assumptions hinder researchers from seeing that truth for what it is. That's why he keeps to himself, using his sharp mind to earnestly research his topics of interest with the sole motivation of finding a truth that is untainted by such external factors. Kaveh, on the other hand, rejects the concept of an objective truth, believing that knowledge cannot exist without a subject, and that postulating an objective truth is to willfully disguise the subject, the researcher. True wisdom, Kaveh believes, can only exist intersubjectively, when enough people come together to find that truth and agree on it. This fundamental difference was what precipitated their fallout.

When Nahida says that Kaveh is the person who understands best what it means for Sumeru to be a Nation of Wisdom, I believe this is what she's talking about; for there to be a Nation of Wisdom, it's not enough for one brilliant researcher to take home there. Their wisdom will die with them. But if you cultivate an interpersonal endeavor for knowledge, you will get a nation of truthseekers, and the wisdom that is accumulated will transcend the lifespans of the individual humans that contributed to its discovery. The heartbreaking part is that this very understanding is what drives Kaveh to overexert himself to prove the merits of his ideas to the rest of the world, because he's hopelessly trying to cultivate intersubjective understanding in a nation where very few have such an honest desire to cultivate wisdom, preferring to have knowledge fed to them through the Akasha just to graduate and move up in the social hierarchy.

The only person who truly engages in such an intersubjective back-and-forth with Kaveh, is Alhaitham.

Ngl now that I think about it it’s kinda sad how The Statue of the Unknown (edit: omnipresent sorry I forgot) God in Inazuma seems to be the Shade of Death’s Statue

Was the statue commissioned by Ei? How long before the Decree? I wonder what she was thinking at the time. She did, indeed, say that Eternity is closest to the Heavenly Principles.

Was it a reminder for herself? To keep herself “in check” before the Heavenly Principles and the Shades? Something like “behold, I’m doing my duty correctly?”

Did she see the Shade of Death cursing an entire nation? Was the Statue a reminder to her of what will happen to her people should she fail as an archon?

Was it painful, looking at it before Ei retreated for meditation? Seeing the Shade of Death observe her nation, taking shape more and more day by day as the statue was built. A permanent reminder that Death shall come for all. That it already took some of Ei’s closest people.

And yet she remained to uphold Eternity. Seemingly right by the Death’s side.

Happy Birthday, Kaveh!

We always say that art transcends all barriers, and the way the music drew in these little buddies is proof of that.

Back when I worked on a project in the desert, the rest of the team gathered around the campfire playing music together, and it attracted birds and Sumpter Beasts. They ate some of our provisions, and one large Sumpter Beast even helped us haul a good load of our equipment back to the city.

Now that I think about it, Mehrak also sways along when there's music at home... Guess it has a knack for the arts too.

On a more serious note: it could also provide some new perspectives on life for them. Like Rumi gets to be a “younger” child and relax for like first time in her life while Jinu sees reflection of his own sister in Rumi and reflects on his life and choices and stuff

Once again I have zero (0) anything against the ship, I just think newfound siblings energy could be so funny too😭🥹
