elowen thorne : elowen is a newly hired junior archaeologist for the talan library. the elven weaver hails from a long line of library guardians, though she sought the very different path of academics. she was taken under the wing of the adventurer branch's key beared, oswald biggs, and some whisper she is to be named his heir.

notes about elowen,

the thorne family has been with the talan library since its conception. for as long as the library's doors have been open, there has been a thorne there to protect its content. it's actually a bit of a sore spot for elowen as there were high expectations for her to join the guardian branch rather than the adventurer's. she is still expected to fulfill certain aspects of her familial duty even though she is in a different branch of the library. her mother makes it difficult to juggle both sets of responsibilities.

her particular brand of weaving calls to objects' histories and lore, sometimes called psychometry. elowen is able to see the "threads" connected to an object and follow them to different parts of the object's past. she can find missing objects connected to ones in her possession this way ( seeing the object's last location, its magical properties, etc.).

is incredibly curious and headstrong, both to her detriment in some cases. follows logic rather than emotion or her gut. she goes out of her way to find ways to disagree with her family, but tends to still do what they ask of her. gets caught up in her own theories and studies. because she was raised to become a talan library guardian, she can handle her own whenever she runs into difficult situations in the field. smart mouth. obsessive. quick to sacrifice her sleep in the name of a project — will compensate with caffeine.
