Maggie is a ghost attending her first year at Dreadful Academy. This is her first time going to a school with other monsters, having been homeschooled all her life, so she doesn't have very many friends yet. Maggie identifies as asexual

Maggie is the only child of a prolific mystery writer. She's been homeschooled by her stay at home mother for her entire education, and has lived an extremely sheltered life up until now. She has an genetic disease that affects her ability to produce body heat, a not uncommon ailment amongst "undead" monsters, but still extremely debilitating if not properly cared for.

Maggie grew up with very well off parents, and her mother kept her mostly out of the public for fear of her safety. Her father, who suffers from the same disease, was more detached from her upbringing, but still a present figure in her life and education. Because of her upbringing, Maggie is a little naïve about how the world works, and tends to be a little too trusting, choosing to see the good in everyone despite their reputations

Maggie decided on her own that she wanted to start attending Dreadful Academy after she completed her home learning. Not only did she want to further her education, she wanted to see more of what the world was like outside of the confines of her home. Her father was encouraging and her mother reluctant, but in the end they agreed to pay for her tuition as long as she needed.

Maggie still lives at home while attending Dreadful, which isn't much of a hassle as it's just a slightly long walk from her house. It's also on Jade's way to school, so on the days they have classes together, her friend is happy to sing by and pick her up, and her mom also drives her on particularly cold days.

As she's attending Dreadful and seeing all the students being so independent, she's a become a little self conscious of still living at home at 20 years old. She's also never had a relationship, and can't help but wonder if she might've missed her shot, as all her peers seem much more experienced than her.

Outside of family friends, Maggie really only ever had online friends before attending Dreadful. She shared a class with the werewolf Jade, who immediately took the soft spoken ghost under her wing and introduced her to her new friend group. She was immediately accepted by Lincoln and later Adam, and the four of them would soon become inseparable

She doesn't get to know Michael until a while later, but finds him shy and charming at first. Lincoln warns her of his asshole-ish, degenerate nature, but Maggie only ever sees the stumbling, shy, awkward Michael when he's around her. She thinks he's kinda cute, too

The Final Five

The final piece of our pride collage is here! Now all that's left is to stitch it all together to make one big friend board with everyone's photos

Jaeda, or Jade for short, is a werewolf attending her second year of Dreadful Academy. Unlike her best friend Lincoln, Jade went to a public monster high school, and didn't start attending Dreadful until her freshman year of college. She's the first of her five siblings to pursue higher education. Jade identifies as bisexual

Jade grew up with a huge family, including her five siblings, (two older, three younger) three cousins, and two nephews all under the same roof. Her parents, aunt and uncle, and older siblings helped out with the kids as best they could, but Jade still decided to move out the second she turned 18. She loves her family, and they did a great job raising her, but was craving a quieter environment

She moved in with her boyfriend Kellen to be closer to her job at the hobby shop, and started attending Dreadful with her childhood friend Lincoln. Jade and Kellen have been dating since Jr. High, and the decision to move in together just seemed like the next logical step in their lives.

About a year after moving in, however, Kellen dropped out of Dreadful and lost his job after a falling out with his family. He only makes just enough to cover his share of the rent through his constant game streaming and occasional odd jobs, and sometimes Jade has to spot him for a month. Naturally, this causes a bit of tension in their relationship, but the rent is cheap enough that they could get by on Jade's income alone

Jade works at the hobby shop across the street from her apartment, and can usually be found there when she's not in class. She manages a light staff and runs tournaments in their game room, but always has time to chat with their regulars over the card counter

When she's not at the shop, and not in class, she's usually hanging out with her friends Lincoln, Maggie, and Adam. Jade is currently the only one with a car, so she's often driving them around, but she enjoys being in charge of where they go.

Jade is also the photographer of the group, always gathering everyone together to capture every moment she can. There's not a whole lot of pictures of her alone, because she's always documenting outings with friends

Jade is also the one making all the plans for friend outings too. Lincoln's used to it, and just goes with the flow of whatever she's planned. Maggie, Adam, and Michael are just gonna have to get used to her type A personality

Lincoln is a zombie attending his seventh year at Dreadful Academy. He's a very quiet individual, often disappearing into the background of conversations despite his exceptionally tall stature. He just enjoys listening more than talking. Lincoln identifies as aromantic.

Lincoln doesn't often go by a nickname, but doesn't mind people calling him Link casually. Michael has an affinity for using the nickname "Stitches", which Lincoln despised at first but, as they slowly became friends, has grown accustomed to it (he likes it, but you won't hear that from him) He also plays guitar and writes a lot of his own music

Lincoln's best friend is the werewolf Jade, who he grew up with from a very young age. The two of them went to a public monster grade school when they were younger, and became fast friends when Jade realized Lincoln needed someone to speak up for him sometimes. He was a tiny thing back then, not hitting his growth spurts til sophomore year, and was picked on a lot by bigger kids. Jade and Lincoln have been inseparable ever since, even when Jade attended a different high school, they would always go over to each other's houses after class to do homework together.

Lincoln didn't meet his friend Maggie until the start of this year, when Jade befriended her in a class they shared and brought her into the friend group. He was also assigned a new roommate in the middle of the year when his old one graduated early, and that's how the vampire Adam joined the friend group!

The four of them make up most of the main characters for the start of their story, the final main character being Michael the vampire. But he's not part of the friend group for a while because Lincoln despises him

Michael and Lincoln met 3 years ago when Michael started attending Dreadful. They had a class together and, though Michael was rarely there, the times he was present he made Lincoln miserable, always pushing his buttons and making flirty comments and innuendos when he learned how much they annoyed Lincoln. Michael often got the two of them in trouble for talking, and Lincoln was often too quiet to speak up for himself. They ended up spending a couple detentions together, which only made him hate Michael more

After their semester together, Lincoln stopped taking night classes in an attempt to avoid Michael, but that didn't stop him from throwing jabs at Lincoln when he caught him in the hallways. Lincoln would always just ignore him until Michael started taking swings at his friends, which is the only time Lincoln speaks up, throwing his bullying right back at him in their defense

Shockingly, Michael is eventually added to the friend group. That story is heavy with spoilers for the actual comic so I won't go into too much detail, but Lincoln starts to see through his guise bullying to protect his own insecurities, and calls him out on it. After a lot of repairing of their relationship, Lincoln eventually sees Michael as one of his closest friends (even if they still throw insults at each other now and then, it's all friendly fire now)

There's not much else to say about Lincoln. Even though he's the first character I made for this universe, I haven't delved into his backstory much at all yet. I'm hoping I'll have some time to do a bit of deep diving this next week, but for now that's all I've got for Lincoln!

Our main characters are finally here! Our main characters are finally here! Jade, Maggie, Lincoln, Michael, and Adam all squeezed into a photo booth to snap a few pics together!

This one took SO LONG to complete for obvious reasons, lol. Even though there was no background to worry about I still had to draw the same scene 4 times over with more characters each time
