Pregnant Charles Week Day 5: Divorce au

Charles and Erik have been divorced for decades but only the two of them seem to believe that

Oh idk maybe the look of realization in Charles' eyes when Erik pulls out the coin and Charles knows his Erik is gone

And maybe then the silent begging in his eyes when he realizes he's going to indure probably the most pain in his life ever, when he realizes he's going to feel Shaw dying

And maybe then the way he prepares himself for the pain because he knows he can't risk Erik getting hurt by letting go of Shaws mind and he knows Erik won't stop

This whole scene is my favourite horror movie.

also, to add variety (?), he just did speak no evil. not my brand of horror, but he was pretty in it. paddy field is impulsive, bubbly, vulgar, has a weird, unprecedented sense of humour, and also very morbidly violent. what i would like to improve about him is the creepiness—he's lacking that, somewhat.

i want to see paddy field lurk and creep as if he's not a bulky pack of muscle and unadulterated strength. i want to see him break the poor, unassuming american man as if that isn't a human but an old toy. i want to see him come out of that hunt victorious, but then be the cause of his own demise. i want him dead, but i want that family to always live with the memories, the horror of him.

i give the movie a 6/10, but i'll give james and the little boy both a 9/10.

my man mcavoy seems to really enjoy mentally unstable characters

the earliest i've watched is young lord simon balcairn in bright young things (2003) with his false articles, then robbie in atonement (2007) who writes such vulgar poetry, then professor charles xavier and his lifelong angsty love story, at around the same time as split (2016)

i seriously want to know his limit

(spoilers: lord balcairn took his own life, robbie died in war, charles... well he didn't die but suffered a lot, and the man in split was just a bubbly, unpredictable ball of mental illness)

Greg House be like: you followed this guy you saw at a medical conference who was clutching his divorce box like a teddy bear (and then went on to commit property damage) and his loserboy swag compelled you enough to bail him out of jail and start the longest-running game of gay Russian roulette - in which you both come out multiple times a day but not really because ‘it’s just a joke lol’ - and also he’s been divorced 3 times and each one is probably a little bit your fault but also he finally gets another girlfriend who is DIFFERENT from the others (she is literally you with long hair) but then she is hit by a bus (this one is definitely your fault). and also you drug him and he drugs you and he kidnaps you and you sabotage his every attempt to have a life outside your orbit. and also you are roommates but he moves out but you move in but he kicks you out but then you buy a house together and also you probably owe him over $80,000 for funding every aspect of your life. strangers assume you are a couple. if he dies you are alone. you are the best and worst thing in his life, you are the best and worst parts of himself. he loves you but he will let you know that he loves you against his better judgement. he hurts you (in ways he would never dare to hurt anyone else), he wants you to be happy. you both like monster trucks

yes to trans chase

the thing about chase is that he’s so trans coded that it could go either way. you could tell me shes an egg and id be with it 100%. makes perfect sense. get that girl on some estrogen and she’ll be the prettiest girl youve ever seen. tell me he’s 6 years on testosterone? makes absolute sense. he started the process for hormones as soon as he got away from his dad.

like, gosh, look at this verse alone:

this verse, on the other hand, is them when not together. say, house in jail and wilson after amber's death :

it's not unknown that they lied to each other, did pranks of different varieties, and tried so hard to come out of their own messes victorious. of course, none of them really did. but everybody dies, one time or another, and in the end it's still the two of them. they hung onto each other because they didn't have anyone, anything, anywhere else to turn to. it's heartbreaking. it's borderline toxic. yet it's simple, and it's the truth of the world, the earth's earthly rotation, the inevitable, inseparable; and i think it's so powerful, so fucking beautiful.

house's a jerk of a manchild. wilson's too lenient an enabler. they were meant to be each other's doom, but also their collective salvation.

before i even knew of house's existence, i've watched another couple of obviously gay, definitely too hot doctors

they're chaotic. they bicker all the time. they're one mean older man and one fluffy marshmallow nepo baby. and despite the show giving them both women to chase, i refuse to acknowledge their straightness. like, come on. they even shared a body at times.
