Ok.... This is Going to be Weird

Soooo... I am a part of a group that raises money for Children's national hospital in DC.

Listen. I learned last year that asking for donations on here isn't the best. I don't even blame people for not responding or donating. Part of the beauty of tumblr is the anonymity of it. The fact you can scream into the void and not be afraid of who will hear. Giving money to someone on the other side is terrifying.

I would just do a fundraiser on my Facebook (something I use to keep in contact with family), but something bad happened.

My Grandfather died last night, and FUCK does it feel bad to ask people for money when they are getting ready for a funeral. I made a fundraiser before he died, but there is no way in hell I am doing that.

On the other hand this charity is super awesome, and I feel guilty for existing without doing anything right now, so here is the plan.

I am creating something called The HellSite Special. You give me a dollar. I doodle a prompt of your making. They can be prompts from writing blogs, silly things your fandom blorbos do, or pets (if you want to send me a photo). I will reblog this post each time I get a new doodle, so you can maliciously torture my mutuals with whatever you like (as long as it isn't... you know racist.... homophobic... you get the idea.

I have to draw a lot of gold and metal for my work, but wasn't happy with any of the metal tutorials i could find around. I prefer really specific instruction, so after some research i put together what i think works as a generalist's guide/tutorial. Not perfectly accurate, but i hope it's helpful!

but yeah in the same vein of Bruce’s kids only following his orders in the field…of course they do. in Gotham, if you don’t hit the deck when Bruce says “Down!” you’re getting hurt, at bare minimum. there’s no questioning orders or hesitating. you have to trust that when B tells you to do something, it’s in your best interest, or in the best interest of the civilians, to do it — and do it really fucking well. really fucking fast.

that doesn’t mean the JL give orders in the same way, even though they’re well-intentioned. that doesn’t mean they fully grasp an emergency scene or its civilians’ needs. they might not realize how risky an order they, as a meta, give to a fully human vigilante is. they’re not a tactician the way Bruce is — they’re not thinking in plans, and backup plans, and fallback plans and extractions.

so yeah, Dick doesn’t take direct orders from anyone but B. of course he doesn’t.
