"Hmm... I wonder if it's possible to get pizza delivered here.. Without it becoming cold and rock solid." Hades gave a tired sigh.
When was the last time he even had pizza? He can't remember.

He was whistling.. quietly to himself.
A slow, haunting tune that often permeated the Halls of the Dead, and at a time.. perhaps the living world might have gotten the chance to hear. Rarely, of course.
It was a rare day, a slow day where the steady stream of souls stemmed to a mere trickle.
Though when one worked neigh endlessly, it was hard to enjoy the peace and quiet. To enjoy a much needed 'break'. Even now, the howling of the never-ending blizzard continued to haunt him. Barely echoing over the whistle as he sifted through various bits of paper on his desk.
Busy work, more or less...
It wasn't like the Fallen Angel of Death had anymore more he could do in the moment. Or anywhere to go.

"Oh it really is so simple. I even know the perfect time when the tide of souls is extra high, considering humanities constant desire to outwit it's own stupidity." Oh.. this was dangerous for poor, poor Lucifer.
And no Michael in sight to stop two Azrael's from causing havoc.
"Yes, let us draw up some plans, I'll even give Hypnos the day off so I can be the one who ensures Tartarus stays nice and tightly locked up once he falls in."
A hum...
"Ah, 'tis the irony of the universe really. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what awaits us both in the next universe. I admit, half of my excitement for the end is to see what will come of the new born from the corpse of the old." Plus the unknown length of time nap he was in for was a double bonus.
Really looking forward to the nap though.

“I can lure him in saying I want a meeting with him~ it’ll be so easy “ and so fun to watch him struggle and then blessed silence . “Shall we plan our prank?”
Ah yes the lovely long rest that awaited the both of them at the end of everything before they were brought back, you can never truly die when you are tied to death .
“It’s my curse as well dear friend ..it’s true Misery loves company who knows maybe in another verse im the fallen and you are still the righteous ~”

A sly smile spread over his face.
"Mine flows directly into Tartarus.. That'd be REALLY funny to let him sink into there. No one escapes it." He even had a cell with a certain 'first mans' name on it.. Waiting.
"I look forward to a nice, loooonnngg nap when it comes. Before I'm inevitably brought to another to do the same thing again.. and again." Ah, the existence loop of one associated with death.
“We could always chuck that damned younger brother of mine and make him sink~” he wonders what would happen if you drown a king of hell in the river Styx .
“ ah yes the end it’s a wonderful dream that I love to visit almost every night, the end of heaven and hell and this universe as a whole before moving to others ~”

"If everyone was smarter than we wouldn't have half of the issues we have now. There's been many a time where I've wanted to chuck morons.. both angelic and demonic into the River Styx and watch them sink.."
He huffed, sipping his own scalding hot coffee.
"At least there's a comfort in knowing there's an end eventually." He shrugged.

“How nice of you, It’s a shame the rest of these fools can’t be like us .. imagine how serene we could make heaven and the realm of the dead if everyone was only a little bit smarter ~”
He gladly takes the coffee he could use it .

A low chuckle rumbled through Hades. It was like hearing the earth itself groan under it's own weight. A force that could move mountains alone in their slow erosion and erasure.
This was far too refreshing. He'd met so many who chose to believe in eternity, of an endless afterlife. Not even believing Heaven nor Hell could ever end. He loathed them to an endless degree instead of valuing what they had in the moment. How much time they wasted in his presence when he had a job to do.
And yet, was hated for that very job. Feared even. He was made to destroy after all.
"Howled.. screaming so loud that the windows of my old office began to crack and shatter. The howled in agony, screaming for Michael, begging him. 'Pry your rabid brother off of me' she cried out, like a banshee wailing." He sneered even.
"Her blood coated the walls of my old office. I wonder if they cleaned it up, or simply locked the door so no one could witness that even angels had 'mortality'." He hoped they didn't.. He wanted there to be proof of that clash.
"She could only scream in fear and agony. She could never do anything to me.. And she knows it. So she threw me out. Thinking that would make her safe." He shrugged his shoulders idly.
"But I'm just waiting for the right time. And she will have hers." He eyed the other curiously.
"What of you.. what is your story? If you will indulge me. You have not fallen, but you clearly run by your own rules and not Heaven's annoying red tape."
Oh this was a delight , so very worth it to leave his quiet cabin full of taxidermy and images of the dead, it would make sense that the only person to truly understand him and his ways was well him. They were the absolute truth after all.
Heaven, Hell, Purgatory it all will grovel and meet their end at their hands, not out of malice ( although he will take some delight in seeing certain individuals finally dying) no but simply cause it was the order of things it’s how it’s supposed to be.
As his other self told his story Azrael’s green eyes glowed with delight and he let out a bark of laughter when it was mentioned how Sera nearly lost an arm.
“Splendid ! Oh I wish I could have seen it, what art, tell me did she scream in agony ? “ he was glad to find his other self was just as perfect as he was .

Good, oh that's good. Yes, already he was liking this one. And he didn't like many people. Be they angel, demon, sinner, winner or what ever mess in-between. He barely tolerated his own co-workers at a time.
"So you were shown the same. The end of everything." He nodded his head sagely.
"How so many cling to this idea of 'immortality' of.. 'endlessness'.. The only thing that is eternal is Death, and none of them are willing to acknowledge it. Because they fear it." He hummed, it was so rare for someone to see the same way as him. But.. Perhaps he should have expected that.
Who could understand Death more.. than Death itself?
But his smile remained when he was asked that oh so important, and curious question. Why.. why did he Fall.
"I didn't, actually. My Falling was of my own doing. You know Sera... yes? Tall, holier than thou attitude, a real pain in the ass to get anything grim done?" He sighed, almost sounding exhausted.
"She began over stepping her bounds. And it all started with Adam. The scales said he should have been cast to Hell, but she overruled me. She overruled DEATH'S JUDGEMENT.." He almost lost his cool, the tips of his hair flaring to life with fire.
"... She let him stay in Heaven, a lie, and continued to try and overrule my judgements for her 'image'. She overstepped the line, and I attacked her for it." His head tilted to the side.
"Nearly ripped her arm off before she cast me out to the edge of Hell.. My halo shattered upon impact, and created an endless blizzard around the River Styx.. So no one but myself and my associates can get near it. Thus.. where I established the Halls of the Dead." He explained simply.
"So no, I did not follow Lucifer. I mauled Sera, and she kicked me out like a bad dog." A summary... A hilarious one, but the truth.
"But as such, I have taken the name 'Hades'.. among many other names humans have given me over the eons."
How strange to be looking up at someone who’s supposed to be him, sure he’s not as tall as Michael but he’s not that short either.
Ah his tired smile matches his own, although his is slightly more crazed .
At the other’s questioning he laughs, oh they were going to get along amazingly .
“Ha! No, never~ all of them are truly idiots clinging to their lives like it has some meaning .. no I have not fallen out of father’s favor and I doubt I ever will, Death transcends all things, Heaven will end in time as will Hell, besides I played the good solider during the rebellion and collected the souls of the fallen and unfallen as was my duty ~ such a fine time that was and I was rewarded by still be above them all~”
He fiddled with his scythe made from the bones of one of his favorite souls he killed . “ though I’m curious what made you want to follow in our stupid waste of space brother’s pitiful footsteps ? I’m sure you of all angels had an excellent reason~”

Black Matter... That shouldn't be there. At all. Hades' eyes narrowed as he watched it carefully, he made a mental note of it as well.
It shouldn't be present in a soul like that, something.. was very much off about this poor little 'Imp'. But he was far too tired to focus on it now. He had his own job to do, and with the vanishing of buildings, soon replaced with snow and an oncoming blizzard ahead..
His stop was here.
"You can stop here." With the card offered though, Hades would reach out and gingerly take it between two of his large fingers, tucking it into his overcoat. Well.. his extremely warm way of dressing made sense now.
Once the car rolled to a stop, it was when Hades would get out, the car likely rocking with his massive frame as he stepped out, heels clicking on the frozen road, his red hair whipping in the howling winds of the blizzard ahead.
For a moment, he seemed to stare at the 'storm'... As if he was expecting something. And indeed, as he stood there, and as the car sat still, the blizzard began to calm. The fog of snow clearing only slightly to view something far, far in the distance. Some sort of large structure.
"Thank you, Jacob.. If you're still in operation next I find myself in Pride.. I'll look for you." He walked past the driver's door and window, heels clicking against the frozen over roads. He also had something now for one of his assistants to look into.
And perhaps.. a call to someone to make.
Jacob had a bit of a moment to himself when the other talked about memories and it being painful. He was envious. He had no memories. Nothing to fall back on even if they were painful. He had no sense of self not really. Everything was fake or at least that's what he felt. Even the name was stolen... It made his stomach tie up into knots when he thought about it. He tried to shake the thoughts from his head. The only thing that made him focus again was the next set of questions.
Looking at Jacob's Soul was like looking at a strange painting that couldn't sit still. The color of his soul was mostly black but sometimes colors would come in and out. Now, that he was paying more closer attention to it he'd be able to see something else. There was something strange pulsing out of Jacob's strange essence. Something that would look extremely strange. Some kind of.....BLACK MATTER. It was only a barely being contained by the soul around it.
Jacob blinked some of the teariness in his eyes that he had unknowingly formed from his darker thoughts. "S-souls? I'm from Envy maybe that explains it. My family's filled with weirdos. I don't get along with them all that much that's why I left." Another well-practiced and well-crafted lie. Again that twist in his stomach happened. The only thing that was making him feel better is that this ride was about to be over. The snow was getting deeper. Jacob would stop the car as close to the edge as he could.
"I um...." he cleared his throat so he would speak better. "I think we are here sir. I'm not sure if I can go much farther. Um... I know you said you don't come to the city much but I could give you my card if you ever needed me to come pick you up." He always offered this to people not that many took his card but, he had been told by his boss and deliveries that having a card on hand was a good way to promote your business. Even with his thoughts a little clouded at the moment he knew he should be doing that at least.

@timetoprey “Hmm so You’re me I take it… who knew the universe was this cracked..” Azzy grinned widely almost too widely he was finally going to have some fun wasn’t he.
"At least in this place, yes." He raised a brow, looking down. Well. He knew the universe was a strange place, with multiple facets that not even he understood fully. But he already could tell who 'this' was. It was a feeling you couldn't shake.
Like looking at the end of all things, it was a unique feeling.
It was a him from another universe..
"Looks like it." A thin, all too tired grin pulled over his face as he looked over the other.
"Though you don't look fallen, my my.. what happened for things to go so 'well' with you? Not stuck up like those loud and obnoxious dimwits in Heaven, are you?" How very curious. But also, he couldn't help but poke and prod.

How.. curious. Hades quirked a brow curiously at the look he caught on Jacob's face in the rear view mirror. Many sinners would recognize that name. Though if anything, he solidified he was a Hellborn with that expression.
Most of them didn't know the various angels, their names, their roles. They had enough to deal with in their own little lives among higher ranked demons, the Sins and the sinners who put them down.
Even so, Hades chuckled at the 'compliment'.
"I suppose it is. Though it is not a name I go by any more. It's riddled with painful memories." He leaned back in the seat for a moment, sighing as he looked out the window. The slow growing space between the buildings was showing the city itself was beginning to come to an end.
Even the air was growing slowly colder. But not to the extremes yet, not what was awaiting them at the far edges of Hell.
"You said you were Hellborn, yes?" His eyes looked back to Jacob curiously. Watching the strange ebb of their 'soul'. Not a Hellhound, nor a Goetia. No.. The Later was like looking at a mass of shadows barely holding shape.
"An Imp? Perhaps? I don't mean to pry, my job makes it to where my eyes don't see things the way one would expect." He hummed.
"I see souls instead... And yours is.. quite unique."
Jacob was once again hit with the emotions of sorrow for this man. There was no pity. Jacob wasn't capable of that emotion. At least not how he was right now anyways. He just couldn't imagine not being able to sleep. Then again maybe it wasn't as bad for people of higher power. Jacob had no special abilities or talents that he was aware of. Hell he wasn't even as stronger or as fast as some of the other demons he had met. He also couldn't imagine the pressure of having to do an important task only you could do. Jacob was starting to form admiration in his eyes for this nobleman.
He didn't even have outside contact with other people because of where he lived. The isolation, the loneliness Jacob was wondering how this man even coped with such things. Then again maybe it was something that higher beings were just better at dealing with. Jacob just couldn't even fathom it. Jacob couldn't even say anything to rebut that or give suggestions. He just gave a small nod. "At least you do get to here's some news every once in awhile." that was all he could come up with.
As soon as he said his name he locked eyes with him in the mirror. That nagging feeling that he was supposed to know that name came back. There wasn't an ounce of recognition on Jacob face. Jacob snapped his eyes back to the road. Hoping his facial expressions hadn't given them away. He was only thankful they were getting really close to where he needed to be dropped off. But he just couldn't let the awkward silence hang in the air. "That's a regal sounding name sir."

Indeed, it was a lonesome job. But no one else could do it. Only he could work the scales, and the Book of the Dead would only open for him. They were made to be so, he was always made to be the judge, and the jury.
And at a time, even the executioner. But quickly that role vanished as humans found their own ways to die. Either by their declining ages and health, to their stupidity. All he had to do was collect and sort them now.
He missed being able to go out and reap a mortals soul. He missed being able to walk among the 'sheep' without them realizing. But humans were smaller then.. And now?
That was neigh impossible.
"Sadly, my job doesn't allow for breaks. I can barely sleep most days.. And it's a job that must be done. No one else has the tools, skills and power for what I do." He hummed before shaking his head.
"I have to rely on one of my assistants getting the paper for me on occasion in the city. Where I live and work, is too far away from the city for power or cell phone service to reach, you see." He looked ahead through the dashboard windshield.
Just.. how far did this demon live?
"At best.. I come to Pride to catch up on news once every few decades." An idle shrug of his shoulders. Such time was a blink of an eye to him. But for others, not so much.
"Hmm..." He wondered... But, part of his was curious.
"My first, and original name..? Was Azrael." He let his words hang in the air.
Jacob's emotions turn slightly when he heard that. This man barely left his desk and barely interacted with people. As he was staring back in the rear view mirror there was compassion in his eyes. It wasn't pity it was just... As if he understood the feeling of loneliness. He didn't like being alone. Jacob never liked being alone but, he was conflicted by his own existence. He had learned getting close to people tended to make them ask alot of questions. Questions he was scared of.
As they were talking he barely noticed the car screaming by them. He made sure to avoid them of course always keeping his eyes on the road he was a diligent driver. He was more focused on what they were talking about though. "Hm... I'm not sure I could handle a lonely job like that. I'm sure it's pretty important.. Whatever it is you do." He didn't want to ask. He had learned nobleman didn't like their business pressed into too deeply. ".. Have you ever thought about maybe finding a companion? Maybe not romance if that's not your thing but perhaps someone you enjoy talking too? Maybe you could at least take a break every once in awhile... Or maybe get a cell phone?" Oh how Jacob's nature made him want to be helpful. He was also naive enough to think of being of Hade's nature needed any help from him.
He did let out of sigh relief as the other said he had another names and of course. Jacob didn't realize the Trap he was about to fall into and his curious nature was also leading to his downfall. "..W-what is your first name if I can ask?" He spoke the words out without realizing what asking that could mean. It's not like he knew asking a demon's true name was anything weird. He had only spent time with Sinners and very low hellborn. He knew not the intricacies of the higher ups of hell.
