Also the fact childhood and the teenage years are messy. Growing up is messy. Parent and child realtionships have different dynamics. Nothing is " normal". You can't define normal because whats normal to you may not be normal to someone else. So when people say " Oh I had a normal childhood" What does that even mean?

But what is normal tho?

How do you define that?

But how would you describe "normal" in a show/manga where nothing is normal?

Nothing is " Normal" in Sailor Moon.

We have talking cats, reincarnated people, from ancient civilizations, enemies coming from the universe, teenage girls fighting with powers and etc.

But once a little girl who honestly will never have a "normal" life have a complex relationship with her parents because of the legacy of her parents have now you want to scream " normal".

Uncomfortable and cause a stir? Yes Sure. What doesn't?

But Normal? No

Usagi is the closest person to have a "normal" life before it got twisted upside down..

It is crazy work to tell a person that you think that they are ok with incest becasue they understand Chibiusa situation and also the fact the person you said that too have a degree in Psychology.

The balant disrespect this woman gets constantly from a fandom that wouldn't exist if she didn't have the idea of Code Name Sailor V in first place which turned in Sailor Moon because toei wanted a show with a team.

She still had to come up with the idea of Sailor Moon and the other senshi after they told her they wanted a team. Especially since she was creating Code Name Sailor V for an anime when they flip the script on her since they wanted something like Super Sentai.

It was still her creation!

She is still the brain child behind Sailor Moon!

But you want a company to get all the credit for her work to the point yall will sit here and say that it wasn't for a show that literally didn't understand her story that Sailor Moon wouldn't be what it is today...

You don't have to like every creative decision she made but damn.

It's almost like people wish that a man created Sailor Moon.

The irony of this with Chibiusa debate is the fact Hotaru kind of mirrors Chibiusa on how she loves her father dearly and does not want Kaori be anywhere near him or take her mother's place but no one says nothing about that.

What's your take on certain people accusing Naoko of retconning all the major villains throughout the manga (Queen Metalia, Death Phantom, Pharaoh 90, and Queen Nehellenia) into incarnations of Chaos in the Stars arc?

Personally, I think the whole "every big bad was Chaos all along" is a great plot twist and helps add a sense of grandeur and finality to the Stars arc. After all, everyone Usagi has faced has just been one of many incarnations of her final enemy, Chaos itself.

It helps that Queen Metalia, Death Phantom, Pharaoh 90, and Queen Nehellenia don't get much characterization that contradicts them being incarnations of Chaos. Like, aside from Nehellenia (who has slightly more characterization), they're all just "generic doomsday villain."

Me: Honestly I think she is giving a social commentary about how absurd it is. Especially when it's no scientific proof it exists and been debuked by the Psychology community over the centuries. Especially how it just totally misses the mark on the myth of Electra and the complexity of a mother and daughter relationship through the act of revenge not competing for the affection of the father.
