possession horror where the thing possessing the autistic character causes them to behave in a more neurotypical way. autistic possession horror where the thing inside you is easier to communicate with than you are, the thing inside you doesn’t have a flat affect, the thing inside you doesn’t let your body stim, the thing inside you is how you were told to behave and you can only do it when you are no longer you. autistic possession horror where you will never forget that everyone liked it better than you before they found out something was controlling you. autistic possession horror where they know what’s inside you isn’t you and debate whether it would be easier for everyone to leave you like this anyway. you agree. reblog.

So, I have this idea for an Uma Musume fanfiction. Let's say, after retiring from racing due to the tendonitis in her leg and graduating from Tracen Academy, Agnes Tachyon decides to go into medical school to become a practicing doctor. Living with her disability, she uses a cane to get around, and, surrounded by pharmaceuticals, she develops an addiction to the painkillers that she prescribes to herself. In the teaching hospital she works at, she's known not only for her rowdy, temperamental, unpleasant demeanor, including an absolute lack of bedside manner, but she still somehow manages to deduce & find cures to even the most obscure & mysterious of diseases. Her behavior means that she often butts heads with her patients and the other employees at the hospital, but she still does everything she can to achieve results, even if it means breaking the rules. Wouldn't that be an interesting idea for a story?

GreyBleizi comm for @dlartistanon !
I really love Blaze with these two, so when I got this comm I had a lot of fun trying to depict the very deep shit that Blaze is in right now.
Praying for a miracle that her heart goes out or the Oripathy takes her.

> they laugh and say "it's a good collectible sir"

"you're not disgusted by porn? that must mean you love [insert vivid description of hardcore porn from multiple genres using a connoiseur's vocabulary]" no bro i think you're projecting
this doesn’t seem surprising to me. Wouldn’t you expect anti-porn advocates to be people who watch porn (since basically everyone does now) but who also have moral qualms about their own lack of impulse control?
for what it’s worth, I definitely became more anti-porn after seeing more porn. Solo hot person masturbating, sexy people deeply horny for each other with no particular political implications or eroticized power imbalance, etc, are all things that are hard to feel guilty about. But you as you start to encounter “gourmet porn” the whole thing starts to feel more and more repulsive.
As an aside, I swear 80% or more of 4chan racists are just young white guys who feel personally humiliated and insulted by cuck porn and its associated tropes. And, while I do blame them for voting for Donald trump about it, I can’t blame them for feeling humiliated. If there was an entire genre of porn about, eg, how Asian women insatiably crave jacked handsome hypermasculine European men because their Asian partners are too wimpy and small-penised, nobody would be surprised that Asian men were offended by it.
anyway, idk where I’m going with this, other than that interracial porn made me feel really uncomfortable as an insecure skinny white guy, and not in a way that was arousing. I think we’d be better off with less porn and more casual sex going on, so I don’t fit into either camp in the porn debate
a lot to unpack here. i think it’s really strange to feel personally humiliated by the existence of interracial porn.
the foundation of porn where black men have sex with white women is that a significant element of the stereotype of black men that justified white oppression during the height of the racial caste system in a lot of the english speaking world was the stereotype that black men were sexually rapacious and savage, and represented a real sexual threat to white women. accusations of rape were a common justification for lynchings, for instance.
humans are strange animals who often turn anxieties into fodder for the erotic. porn is frequently a reflection of broad based social anxieties or fears. cuckolding porn eroticizes the fear of infidelity. humiliation porn eroticizes, well, humiliation. bdsm eroticizes power dynamics (a rich vein, since social power dynamics exist everywhere in society). importantly, the target audience for people who consume porn like this is people who *possess that anxiety* in some (eroticized) form. the people jerking off to cuckolding porn are not generally imagining themselves in the role of cuckolder! the people jerking off to a video of a hot person telling them how disgusting and perverted they are are getting off on *being* humiliated (in a safe, playful way that does not risk actual public humiliation). the audience for this kind of interracial porn is white people who have internalized some of the racist stereotypes floating around culture, who don’t necessarily *intellectually* believe them, but for whom these stereotypes can serve to create a familiar dynamic that can be eroticized. it’s not, for instance, generally aimed at black people who might have a thing for white people. in the same way that people who have *no* anxieties about their partner fucking someone else aren’t going to consume porn for people with a cuckolding kink.
it is deeply silly porn. like frequently self-consciously so. i think a lot of people (at least the ones who are able to be honest with themselves about their desires) would admit that their particular kinks are kind of absurdist. that an incredibly vicious racial stereotype once commonly used to justify extrajudicial murder of innocent people has become a goofy porn trope nobody can take seriously is a sign of immense social progress, actually. it is an atrophied appendage of the once commonplace and uncontroversial claim by racists that if black people arent enslaved black men will rape white women in the streets. sure, it’s a little uncomfortable if you think about its history. but human psychology is messy! there was a minor fad for Holocaust themed dominatrix porn in Israel in the 60s and 70s; people work through this shit in weird ways.
interracial porn is not made to humiliate white people. it is made *for* white people. it makes sense that most white people would find it off-putting a bit; if you don’t share a kink, porn aimed at fulfilling that kink is going to be un-erotic at best. if youre not into humiliation porn, watching a dominatrix insult her sub is just watching a woman in a weird outfit be mean for no reason. it is not intended as an actual template for social relations, you know?
the really harmful shit in porn and in human sexual relations generally isn’t the self-conscious kink. kinksters are generally aware that their desires are non-normative, and don’t try to force them on other people! the really harmful stuff is when exploitative or demeaning social relationships are portrayed as normative and backed up by the force of wider culture. shit like purity culture, which *is* meant to be taken seriously, does infinitely more harm than interracial porn, which is not meant to be taken seriously. and yeah sometimes people produce porn that reproduces the harmful normative assumptions of the wider culture—but that stuff isn’t the stuff that’s explicitly marked and marketed as fetish porn, definitionally.
it is insane to let your discomfort with a kink you don’t share dictate your political views, as you say; but I think it’s also pretty weird to let a kink you don’t share be something that like actively bothers you. the world is full of people you will never meet who have kinks that if you knew about them might gross or skeeve you out, which nonetheless are no worse than weird and maybe distasteful. so what? why should anyone give a shit?

one of the best things about uma musume is how all of the horses are kinda weird or dumb in an endearing way. like even the most determined and serious horse will eventually be found somewhere on campus staring at the vending machine looking confused and when you talk to her she'll say "where do these drinks come from? there's no clear sign of entry... could it be divine providence?" or have a training event where she says something like "how do hot dogs survive in the wild with no limbs or eyes? the urge to survive must be strong... i want to get stronger too, like the hot dog." (strength went up!)

in a lot of fiction, killing the ideological leader of a group creates a martyr to rally around that strengthens the cause, or at least people claim it does. in reality, i think this is almost exactly backwards. killing the ideological leader of a movement is a great way to stop it dead in its tracks. when someone's death does trigger a rally-to-the-cause effect, it's often innocent bystandards in a revolutionary situation. in a religious context sometimes movements survive the sudden deaths of their leaders (christianity being the most notable here), but they still are frequently fractured in the immediate aftermath and often struggle to rebuild for a long time. and a lot of times they just don't survive. the Mahdists (actually a good counterexample! perhaps the followers of Bar Kokhba would be a better example? also various modern insurgencies like Boko Haram) and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom didn't survive. Babism became an irrelevant tiny group that was superseded by the Bahai, who had a new, living leader to rally around. your martyrs need to be symbolic, i guess. they can't be the guys who actually keep the movement or organization running. if those guys die you're fucked. gotta let the grunts die for the cause, that's their job.

Mind if I pick your brain a bit? While I really enjoy the new csm chapter, why are people reacting with such stunning shock and delight about it's reveal? I felt this was long set up at least to some degree, what with Falling directly saying "I have done this to make war happen" and with the Statue of Liberty scene later. I also don't think it's inherently new or shocking for a manga to depict America as warmongering in the first place but especially in this case. It's a badass chapter but the reaction it's garnered has sorta stunned me
At least from what I've seen it's not the twist that garners a reaction but the execution, because of how delightfully raw and blunt it is, with War basically declaring her love for America while the national anthem is written in beautiful cursive to the backdrop of countless burnt corpses and countless cheerful Americans celebrating.

Hey, if you did work over the past few weeks to try to stop the GOP's obscene and murderous budget: thanks. It ended up without the AI regulation ban, the trans healthcare ban, the western lands sell off, and without its stupid name being official.
It passing was a major loss for everyone in this country including the very wealthy and other people who believe they will be able to be better off from it.
But also, it passing was not as bad as it could have been and it took the ongoing effort of huge amounts of people to even make that a possibility, so if you were part of that, from the bottom of my heart: Thank you.

I read acoup's piece on the american civil-military relationship a couple weeks back and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. He doesn't really seem emphasize them, but there are some really tough pills to swallow in there that nonetheless seem very hard to avoid. It might unfortunately just be the case that the military draft is a violent and brutal tool of imperialism, a mass-scale violation of human rights and freedom, and also a central component of how democratic societies retain control over their militaries, without which they tend to collapse into autocracies.
