Trans things™ that probably shouldn’t be relatable
Anxiety rolling through your stomach when you go to introduce yourself to somebody
That feel when your little sibling calls you by your name more than your actual parent does
Hanging back in each class on the first couple days of school to ask your teacher to call you by /your/ name instead of by /deadname/
Wanting to date somebody but they don’t know that you’re trans
When somebody is actively flirting with you but you can’t tell because why would they flirt with a trans person/you’re probably not passing to them so when you tell them your gender they’ll be disgusted so what’s the fuckin point
The crippling panic you feel if you can’t find clothing good enough to make you pass in the way you’re comfortable with
wanting to “defy gender roles” and wear something you think you would be cute in, but you’re too scared to be misgendered to do it
Wearing something vaguely not aligned with your gender and getting the “I thought you were a (guy/girl)” in that annoying accusing tone
When people judge your gender based off of your voice even though a lot of cis men have high voices and a lot of cis woman have low voices
Wanting that full body self love but looking at the parts that don’t align with your gender and just :///////
Not going to the bathroom in public,,,,, like,,,,, ever,,,,,
Trying not to cry when somebody correctly genders you
the gut-wrenching feeling when you’re misgendered to a stranger and you can’t correct them
The constant fantasies of what life may be like for you one day as you face transphobia constantly in the current moment
Being called some type of derogatory name by your parent as a cop-out for not calling you by your name or deadname (i.e., middle child for myself :) )
Feel free to add to these with ones that are like this or even ones that pertain to a certain gender

I can't wait to be free
honestly? i can’t wait to live.
i can’t wait to live on my own and see a new recipe online and get some ingredients and just make it. i can’t wait to buy funny patterned blankets to leave around my house because they make me smile. i can’t wait to watch the sunset from my yard while blasting whatever music i want. i can’t wait to go to CVS at midnight and buy some scissors and hair dye and facetime my friend at 1 am while i do some weird shit to my hair that i’ll regret in the morning. i can’t wait to go to a bar and do something stupid because i’m drunk and wake up with a massive headache but still happy. i can’t wait to do some super sappy shit because i’m a hopeless romantic at heart i can’t wait to loudly sing a dumb song i made up on the spot.
i can’t wait to live as me and be happy.

For Transmasc Allies: Alternatives to ‘Handsome’
I made this list because, for a lot of trans guys, 'handsome’ makes up 90% of the compliments we get, and can become overused and lose its meaning for us, even if it comes from a genuine place. don’t get me wrong, handsome is a lovely word (and I personally like it a lot), but there are plenty more validating masculine complimentary words out there you can use for your transmasc friends/relatives/partners !!
Instead of just 'handsome’, try also using:
- dashing
- distinguished
- dreamy
- spiffy
- sharp
- charming
- sleek
- sunny
- chipper
- suave
- dapper
- grand
- regal / kingly / princely / knightly
(and some silly ones:)
- hunky
- macho
- boyfriend material / husband material
- fiery / Flamin’ Hot (be careful with “flaming” tho - can be used as a gay slur)
(note: ofc these terms can be used for anyone regardless of gender, I just included them if I felt they seemed more masculine or had a traditionally masculine usage. feel free to add or correct!)

Dysphoria sucks.
But you don’t.
You are valid.
Your chest is not as big as you think.
It is okay to not have facial hair, cis men have this problem too.
Your small feet and hands are fine, and they don’t make you less of a man.
It is okay if you are short - you are small and kick ass!
It is okay if you are pre-t and don’t pass.
It is okay if you are on T and you don’t pass.
You are handsome and strong. You can go through it.
You will get the body and voice you want.
You are loved. Remember it.
