- Evo and Breez Weapon Updates -
....okay when I said I would update their arsenal I didn't mean Immediately, but here we are. Not finished with Evo's shield, however it is very late now, so its good enough.
Breez's sword now reflects the previously stated lore as to why one of her energies is the "wrong" color. For the shield I really leaned into the natural shapes and I'm *very* pleased with the result.
Equally happy with Evo's new gun. Did not expect those two large pieces to fit so well together, but it didn't even take a lot of coaxing.
Any Destiny players may recognize the silhouette I was attempting to recreate with this new incendiary, high-cal, slug-throwing launcher.

- Breez, Recon Whirlwind -
Built on my "standardized" hero frame that still allows for personalization, this was the first draft. She was built. Oh jeeze. A hot minute ago lets put it that way (whadda ya mean G2 started 10 years ago? Get off my lawn).
Similar to my Evo revamp, I really leaned into the [color] + silver + glow/accent, formula that I really enjoyed from the HF aesthetic. The only exception being the laser on her drone/shield combo that, in the *very* limited lore, is Surge's core that he gave up so that she might live. (IRL I needed the blue pieces for another project lol)
While I really enjoy parts of her design and general vibe, I think a fresh coat of paint from my new skills and pieces wouldn't hurt.
I'm interested to hear what you think! : D
#lego#moc#ccbs#hero factory#breez#gotta say I do really love the shield design with the drone's wings matching the angles of that one... uh.. shield.. piece#names elude me... but u know the one

- Evo, Explosives Expert -
Another first for this blog, a hero. It also is a little out of season for HF-ebruary, but hey. I'm busy.
While I was never the biggest fan of the series lore-wise, the introduction of the CCBS system (I know, I know, "ATM machine") changed the game for me. Another layer to add into the Technic/Bionicle mix? Incredible.
Heavily inspired by the Breakout wave (best wave IMO), I wanted to create a standard frame for the heroes that was easy to replicate, but also allowed for a lot of customization for individuality. I am very pleased with how this came out. The armor shell fitting seamlessly with the technic was a happy accident (I can't lie).
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this somewhat different style than I've shown so far here! : D
#lego#moc#ccbs#hero factory#I really quite liked the OG arm design where one was a big ol' beefy gun#but wanted to change it to be a shield as this mf has enough firepower#I feel like I may give him a sliiightly smaller gun tho to hold. Sword doesnt feel very “explody” for an explosives expert#or should I say x-plody

While not my best work (even for the time), Razor's previous appearance had some odds and ends going for it. I quite liked how the nyrah blaster mechanism resembles a pump like a miniature belows to keep the system flowing.
Also the original leg design very closely resembles that of G1 Null. The continuity was fun to see (even if it is likely because I just liked how the leg looked and had the pieces to recreat one)
....the more I look at it though. I may need to take some notes and redo the current one's leg design. I like the character the old one had.
#also before I forget#yes the mask used to be on this one. i just left it on the new version#lego#bionicle#moc#g1#makuta

- Razor the Hated -
This marks a first for this blog, a villain! As you can likely tell, this did originate as a moc-version of Antroz, as I got my hands on the mask but not the rest of him (though I think I also got the claws and torso in that bulk? It was quite some time ago).
From that humble origin though, he really became his own character. I'll write a small blurb of backstory under the tab if anyone is interested!
The custom head came out pretty well as well in my opinion. The swiveling eyestalk was very important to me to add and I also wanted to be have the other eye be illuminated when light was somewhat behind it.
One unfortunate thing about this MOC (or fortunate?) is that it is *very* solid. Normally I like to show photos with armor off so you (yes you! 🫵) can see the inner workings, but that simply isn't feasble with this one. So enjoy some mecharm and custom head close ups instead!
I'm keen to hear thoughts and comments!
‐-----------------------------------------------------------------‐---------------
"Razor never truly fit in with the Order of Makuta. Headstrong and fiercely opposed to leadership, his ego was surpassed only by the likes of Icarax. Though he technically owed the Makuta his life, with all he'd already done for them, he felt it was paid in full and then some.
So Razor left. Abruptly and silently flying off into the night to meet with a different group looking to poach the talent: the Dark Hunters. Razor knew little beyond the basics about the Dark Hunters, theres some big boss and a bunch of contractors or something.
His very short-lived tenure with the hunters was filled with conflict, in-fighting, and hatred. The more he learned about them, the more he thought they were simply structured slightly differently to the Brotherhood. Pathetic. Weak. Intolerable.
Similarly, he left again. Shirked his duties, his obligations, and promises.
This, of course, simply kicked another hornets nest after he had already took a swing at another.
The Brotherhood had been waiting. Tracking him, but not making a move that would disrupt the very tentative peace between the two factions. The very day he left, they descended like vultures.
Razor was strong and powerfully in tune with his mask. However, very little can stop ten blades from striking. Ripped apart and left to die, he, with his one arm, clawed his way home.
During his brief time with the Dark Hunters, he had taken a liking to fashioning cruel machines and creations. And he was a fortuitously fast learner.
Over the next month, Razor took scraps he had and gave himself a leg to stand on, literally. With this foothold, he began to attack nearby matoran settlements and strip them of anything he saw as useful.
Another month passes, he had constructed an arm and made his leg more functional. Wings were proving difficult to maintain, but a well tuned and upgraded jetpack from an av-matoran might just suffice.
Word reaches the Dark Hunters that he still lives and a bounty is immediately put on his head.
Forced to flee his home, he began to travel the land above and below, trying to find some place to belong. But none ever welcomed him. Hated by the forces of light for being a Makuta, and hated by the forces of dark for betraying the two largest organizations.
Razor takes whatever he can and kills any that try to stop him. Recently, he has found an experimental protodermis weapon foundry that would make a fantastic boon for his own restoration and facilitate his desire to kill those who made it necessary.
However, the sole toa guarding it has proved to be more than a nuissance, to say the least. And Razor has suspicions that there is even more to this protodermis project than meets the eye..."
---------------------------------------------------------
#lego#bionicle#moc#g1#makuta#villain#the “world” I have built really does center around this protodermis factory. i might make a post just talking about world lore#and the strange circumstances surrounding the whole place#its a small scale thing but its been in slowly being developed since I was first into bionicle and learned what protodermis was lol

- Toa Null of Supression (G2 -
A G2 rendition of my self-moc Null. Some things had changed by the point where I created her. This version separated the grey into black and white, while still keeping the trans(🏳️⚧️)-green integrated but a little more condensed.
This version of her works with some protodermis weapon creators to test out new technologies and/or see how far they can push the limits of elemental power. The nature of her domain being suppression means she is an *excellent* candidate for when things go wrong. It simply won't effect her as much as others, if at all.
(Was this an excuse to simply make big weapons and give them a weilder? Maybe.)
I'd love to know what you think of this rendition! : D
#lego#bionicle#ccbs#moc#g2#toa#selfmoc#don't mind the pronoun changes from G1 Null. going from a them to a fem.#definitely not very early indications of anything even when I did not have the language for it Nope Definitely Not#the pipeline is real

- Null, Toa of Supression -
Self-MOC from many years ago. They had many iterations before that as well! I loved (and still do) the robot/knight aesthetic and the unnecessary numerous greebles really drive that home.
Inspiration from some people of biotube I was following definitely show as well! The wrist guns inspired by Shadowgear, foot pieces as core torso from Moon, and the tiny greebles of Gringat.
All of this really lends to the time capsule nature of this one. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
#lego#bionicle#moc#g1#toa#selfmoc#though admittedly I did always feel like i improved on Shadow's design as wrist ones did not need to be removed in order to deploy.

Just completed the greatest scavenger hunt in the history of Metru Nui!

What do you think of my Morbuzakh inspired display for the 6 Great Disks?
After finishing my Toa Mata Kanohi collection (the display for which is coming along well by the way) I decided to move on to the great disks given I already had most of them from the Kanoka packs back in the day. I tried to use parts I already had lying around to make it, with only minimal bricklink purchases once I had the design down.
The idea was to base the Morbuzakh off of the versions seen in the promotional art and the Toa Metru character videos rather than the comics, which I think I’ve done quite well on. The flat stud in the central “eye” glows in the dark too, to compliment the glow from the disks.
I also tried to match the shape of the display to Metru Nui itself.

Now I just need to figure out where to hang it…
