hello! I’m Ames :)

I write and draw sometimes, so i thought i might make an acc to share some of my work, (after approximately 15 failed instagram pages) as well as yap about random stuff. I’m so excited to be here !!

I’ve been working on this AiB fanfic (A glimmer of spring) for a while now, I have sm planned for it & I will be sharing updates here 🤍 you can also read it on ao3 https://archiveofourown.org/works/62913019

MY INTERESTS (oddly specific):

playing the piano for 3 hours straight and never touching it again for another month

finding a very cool topic in biology and researching everything i can about it at 4am

having 10 different fashion styles and showing up in one of them while literally going out to get a snack

ABT MY WRITING / ART:

I draw and write about whatever inspires me. I take any suggestions / recs but i don’t take commissions. My works can include some element of romance but I don’t do anything explicit.

The art of control

A/N: I saw this shipped on TikTok and HAD to write it. This can be considered whatever you want it to be!

Shibuya was alive, neon lights flickering like electric dreams against the darkening sky, but Urumi had no interest in the city’s usual chaos tonight. No, she had been forced into something far more annoying—her first-ever therapy session.

She twirled a lock of her platinum blonde hair as she stepped into the dimly lit office of Matsushita Hypnotherapy & Consultation. The scent of incense and something faintly metallic filled the air. It was cozy but outdated, lined with bookshelves crammed with psychology manuals and thick, dust-coated tomes on hypnotism.

And there he was.

Enji Matsushita. The therapist. Or, as she decided then and there—her new entertainment.

Messy black hair that fell into his tired-looking eyes, an all-black outfit that screamed grunge trash boy who listens to bands nobody has heard of, and that sharp, analyzing gaze that slid over her like she was a puzzle he was dying to take apart.

Cute.

“Urumi, right?” he asked, voice smooth but laced with boredom. “Have a seat.”

She bounced over with an exaggerated smile. “Only because you asked so nicely.” She folded her hands in her lap, looking at him through her lashes. “So, how does this work? You gonna wave a pocket watch in front of my face and make me bark like a dog?”

Matsushita sighed, rubbing his temple. “I don’t do parlor tricks.”

“Shame. I’d have made a cute dog.”

He ignored that. “Hypnotherapy is about getting past the noise. People lie to themselves all the time.” He tilted his head. “You, for instance, are doing it right now.”

Her smile didn’t falter. “Oh? Do tell.”

“You play at being cutesy, but it’s a mask. You manipulate people to get what you want, and you think that makes you untouchable.” He leaned back in his chair, watching her reaction. “But everyone has a weak spot.”

Urumi’s heart kicked up a beat. This guy was sharper than he looked. But she was better. She giggled, resting her chin on her palm. “Wow, you sound so sure of yourself. Bet you get off on it.”

A smirk twitched at the corner of his mouth. “Control is an art.”

Urumi’s grin widened. Oh, this was fun.

She hadn’t expected him to be so good.

Matsushita’s voice was smooth, steady, weaving words into a lull that made her limbs feel like liquid. Her thoughts drifted, loosened—until her mind was open.

“You trust me,” he murmured.

“I trust you,” she repeated.

“You want to be honest.”

“I want to be honest.”

“Good girl.”

A strange warmth curled in her stomach at the praise, but it felt far away, like it belonged to someone else.

“Tell me something true, Urumi.”

Her lips parted, and before she could stop herself—

“I use people because I don’t care about them.”

A beat of silence. Then—

“Interesting.” Matsushita’s voice was unreadable. “Who’s the easiest to manipulate?”

She felt her lips move before her mind could process the answer. “Men who think they’re in control.”

The weight of her words pulled her back. Her breath hitched, eyes snapping open. Matsushita was watching her, that smirk still playing at his lips.

“Guess we’re not so different, then,” he said lightly.

She should have felt embarrassed. Exposed. Instead, excitement thrummed through her veins.

This was going to be very fun.

I've been browsing through aib fics for fun, and they're mostly x reader or some sort of ship or just chishiya in general 😔😔 by all means write whatever the hell you want, but it'll be nice to have more variety

ok um that is a terrible way to say I'm writing an AiB fanfic but yep I am :D

the idea in my head is finally getting out of my head and onto my iPad yay !! It's set in the previous cycle when the citizens we know were players :] (+ some original characters ofc)

"if Chishiya were in Squid Game he'd figure out Player 001 was behind everything" and he didnt know Mira or Kuzuryū were citizens until after the broadcast, despite (manga) Chishiya having a whole conversation with Mira, and (adap) Chishiya being an Executive.

"Chishiya would laugh at ppl in SG" and he'd be so emotionally and physically drained from the games he'd reluctantly keep participating bc it's better dying in there than killing himself outside of the arenas, and if he survives, he can get a massive amount of prize money in the process. it's a win-win for him.

"Chishiya would survive all of SG with his hands in his pockets" and he'd make enemies with people like Deoksu, Thanos, Namgyu, and if we're bringing AiB characters into it, Niragi or the 6◇ guys, who'd all easily overpower him during the "Special Game" if he didn't get a chance to reach out to people like Ali and Hyunju, or Kuina and Karube as his allies (aka people physically stronger than him to protect him when the fight inevitably goes down).

y'all seriously OVERestimate Chishiya's abilities in physical games. he'd take notice of the walls, sure, but even foresight might not be enough to save him when everything in Squid Game involves teamwork or physicality: aka, the two things Chishiya is the weakest at. he's not a psychopath, he's a narcissist with a very weak will to live; he'd only get far bc he thinks of himself and no one else, seeing his "allies" as pawns to move forward.

been thinking about this bug a lot recently...

i want a big kanade arc pls pls pls 🙏 its her turn to go through the horrors ♡

long kanade ramble ahead!!

i think that savior complex of hers is gonna send her crashing down. hard.

we haven't gotten any huge kanade focus events yet, or anything that really progresses her story or builds her character in a significant way, but im really looking forward to see what they have in store for her character arc. im hoping kana5 will stir the pot a bit and get the plot moving.

i feel like overall shes been really mysterious and strangely without much going on, and at first i thought she was a little boring even... but i think that's by design. she doesn't open up about herself much, and generally appears to be pretty put together, maybe aside from her poor self-care. she doesn't talk about many of her own problems, because she doesn't want to have the others worry for her, when her problems are "insignificant" compared to the others, as she says. i think the lack of progression in her story also fools the audience into believing she has her shit together. ena has had her fair share of struggles. mafuyu had her big arc, but shes also been trying to find herself since the beginning. mizuki just went through hell and finally fell apart after the long-lasting growing tension in her story. but kanade? she's been stagnant. unchanging. it makes it easy for her to be overlooked. but that's exactly what she wants-- to not weigh the others down, and to be their support. but she can't keep that up forever. so yes, i admit i wasn't super interested in her character before, but I've now realized that's because they've hardly even started her story yet. as one of my oomfs said, she was always going to be the last wall to fall.

when reading the story at first, kanade has a lot of warning signs you might glance over. ive only recently started to see them more, like just in passing comments here and there that are REALLY concerning and unhealthy. i mean the most obvious sign is that she barely gives herself time to eat or sleep of course, but the more you pay attention to the subtle things, the more apparent it becomes that she's got some serious shit she needs to unpack, or she may just end up crumpling under the weight of it all. i think her undoing has the potential to be huge. catastrophic even. i really wonder what the writers are planning for her, but all this waiting leads me to believe they could have something big planned. like okay, looking back to the card i drew from, the bloomfes kanade card, shes got some wild shit going on... there is nothing normal about that !!!

i also posted abt this on bluesky, but reiterating it here, i felt like her newest card for her mixed focus event kinda seemed like foreshadowing... specifically because of the niigo colored star charms. mizuki and ena's charms are together, facing each other (yippeeeee), but mafuyu's charm faces kanade's, who's charm is not facing hers. mizuenas charms also seem to glow in the light, while kanamafus dont reflect as much light. could just be coincidence, but i know they love hinting and foreshadowing with card details like this. and overall, kanade's expression is unreadable, like a still, empty doll. the card has a bit of a melancholic feel, to me at least. im not sure how soon the next niigo event will be, but it's gotta be a kanade focus, unless they pull a saki. i dont think its the biggest leap to suggest this could be some foreshadowing for the next event.

but anyway, i think kana5 will start building up the tension at least, maybe entering a kanade arc even. i need to see her snap pls pls pls pls pls
