Here’s my translation of the Asstellus (Dropout Sensei) interview..under the cut

1) Tell us your first impression of your tie-up counterpart.

Tomoya: I felt like half of my life was being conveyed through his music alone. Ban: It’s a bug huh..

2) If there’s a character in SHOWBYROCK that you like please tell us.

Tomoya: The Labomunch members! I also love their tie-up band Clammbon so letting me be in the same universe made me really happy, even if only fictional. Ban: All the girl bands seem kinda cute.

3) Which of your tie-up songs would you recommend to fellow SB69 fans?

Tomoya: “About my Courtney Love” While playing SB69 with the girl you like I want people to casually think to themself: “Ah this song..I love it so much. These lyrics, I can relate. Right now I’m really feeling this way. I can totally relate to those lyrics~.” Ban: Hmm. I can’t choose.

4) What kind of merch would you like to have of your own character?

Tomoya: “Sweater” to use as a pillow to sleep. Ban: Fruit gummy

5) If you lived in MIDICITY what would you tell your own character?

Tomoya: You will never grow up if all you obsess about is love..is what I want to say but I’m pretty much the same right now. So at least let’s stop messing with married women and not cause the ones around us further trouble. Ban: Band is good and all but also keep studying please.

6) If you had to describe your character on one word what would it be?

Tomoya: High school student who only thinks about dating. Ban: It’s a beetle…

7) SHOWBYROCK in one word?

Tomoya: An enjoyable incident that allowed me to meet so many new people. Ban: It’s a wonderful game!

8) Feel free to promote one of your own band activies.

Tomoya: I think I will release a new album when I have more songs so please wait patiently LOL Furthermore I have one more band called “Sayonara Paris”. The first album “I LOVE YOU TILL I DIE” comes out on the 8/17. Please listen to it. Ban: Lately we have been on live tour so please come see us.

9) Please tell us about your excitement for the 3969 fes.

Growing up in a family of Ul’dah merchants and crafters Chufu learnt that Gil is the driving force in Eorzea. Despite her parents teaching her the arts of weavering at young age she knew there were more ways to double the profit. Whether it was taking care of her merchant uncle’s Chocobos or helping out at the library she’d take up many jobs as long as the pay was appropiate. Though during her time at the library she’d dwell on the arts of magic and more importantly the tales of Nym’s scholars. As self teaching wasn’t enough to quench the diligent Lalafell’s thirst for more knowledge she sets off to a journey to Limsa Lominsa to learn arcane magic herself and get closer to uncovering the mysteries behind the Scholars. Besides, research papers and hunt logs will help her earn some extra Gil on the side.

Basic Personality: Very hardworking and ambitious who rarely gives up once a goal is set. She’s polite and will always offer a helping hand but her usual cold stare makes it hard for people to approach her first. The kinda type who would pass an invite to a drinking party and won’t react to jokes or pranks but those close to her know that she’s a valuable companion who can be fun loving from time to time. A bit of a tomboy who packs a bunch as well. Like, really.

Dyuradyura hcs because I love him and I love Shinimonogurui and they need more love

Another thing from my drafts I quickly finished. Iirc i wrote this in the train?! Jeez

His human parents gave him away when he was bitten thus grew up as an orphan, shunned by others and also avoiding most social contact. Shinimonogurui members were the first ones he opened up to after being invited by Marimari who felt both sorry but also curiosity for the young vampire. The bite does hurt at times and he’s still plagued by nightmares but luckily his friends got him covered always 

Out of fear to hurt others he tried his best to not get too attached and therefore never learnt the basics of social interaction. Of all Shinimonogurui members he's by far the most awkward one although he hates to admit so. He usually feels genuine discomfort without his friends around and prefers quite places or stays home most of the time. Also partly because sunlight, albeit not dangerous, tires him out. 

He also isn't actually interested in making friends either and he often comes off as rude whenever Shinimonogurui meets other bands. Since he was gifted with a smart mind he tends to look down at others, thinking of them as inferior and hints so in the most passive aggressive way. 

As he spent most of his time alone he was at the library reading a lot and is still an avid reader to this day. Lately he's into Light Novel which he considers a guilty pleasure. The ridiculous stories about maids,time travels,harem romance and stuck in videogames stories are a fresh breath of air in comparison to his old thick books.  He’s especially fond of the romance ones since his own unrequited love troubles him a lot these days

Shinimonogurui lives in a shared house in Youkai street and since Dyuradyura is a major clean freak he insists on taking care of all chores and tasks. Cleaning, cooking, keeping track of band schedules and finances, you name it. 

He's still reliant on blood but certain pills are good substitution. At times he treats himself to a blood bag donated by the local hospital. Never would he think of sucking blood off another myumon which why he absolutely despises a certain other bloodsucker myumon in Midi City. 

Although he's fairly good at cooking and loves creating dishes he has very specific likes and dislikes. You could say he's the most vegan of vegan and a good calprese salad is enough to sate him for the day. Sometimes he goes without food for days. That being said he likes to have full control over the band's menu and Gashi's konpeito or Marimari's beloved ramen are being tolerated unwillingly.

While he gets along with everyone in the band (Though he clashes with Gashigashi a lot) I think he considers Monmon his best friend. It’s something about his calm personality that makes Dyuradyura feels at ease even if they have nothing in common.

Now to something more shippy: He loves Marimari dearly, way past mere platonic feelings. Growing up together made him realize that she has always been and will always be the most important person in his life and who had the most impact on him as well. Not sure when he was aware of his feelings but I like to think it happened during ..youkai puberty..

His looks are a big hit among their female fans, especially the vampire enthusiasts but he usually ignores any advances. After all he only has eyes for a certain ghost

I think he’d be too much of a chicken to make obvious advances and be content with admiring her from afar He’d probably fear putting their friendship or his reputation at a risk for showing how desperate he is for youkai romance tm 

Everyone apart from Marimari knows about his crush on her though and they tease him a lot about it. Monmon is the one Dyura vents to usually

going through my drafts and here’s a dyuramari valentine thing I wrote ages ago...happy belated valentine’s day everyone

Dyuradyura still held the pink box of chocolate tightly in his hands. The chocolate which the even pinker pig girl called bloody Valentine chocolate and the sheer ridicule of said chocolate made the gentleman chuckle. But it was a gesture he was going to value nevertheless. He appreciated all of his fans, including even the weirdest ones. To be frank, he was fully aware his looks were more or less a hit among their female audience thus receiving presents on the day of love wasn’t anything he was unfamiliar with. However it was also something he usually did not put further thought into, it wasn’t gentleman-like after all. 

Though at times he couldn’t help but wonder when he’d come home to her chocolate placed on top of his fanmail.

“I’m hom-” before finishing his sentence Dyuradyura slammed the door to the band’s flat shut and rushed into the kitchen. The hallway was drowned in a strong scent of sickenly sweet food and knowing his bandmembers, he already knew another cooking experiment wasn’t going to go well. “What have I told you about cookin-” again, we was interrupted in the middle of his sentence but this time for a much better reason.  There she stood, wearing a snow white apron protecting her expensive kimono from chocolate stains, cooking that sweet valentine’s treat. With a big grin she turned around and proudly presented a mouth sized chocolate heart. “You were saying~?”, she cheekily countered while sticking her tongue out.  “Ma..marimari....” was all he could muster that moment. She wasn’t particularly bad at cooking but she sure wasn’t into it. Partly due to the lack of time, partly because it was usually him who cooked the meals she ate everyday. That’s why he never saw, let alone expected to see her next to pots, bowls, heart shaped mould filled with chocolate. 

But more than seeing her cooking the fact she was working on gifts on Valentine’s Day baffled him more. Which of course brought up the next surprise..who was the lucky giftee? To Marimari music was her entire world annd there was no place for romantic love in that world. Despite the way Dyuradyura felt he accepted that much.

He hoped that in the meanwhile the kitchen would get rid of anything Valentine or chocolate related but he already feared the amount of cleaning he would have to do in the end.  While lost in thought he almost stepped on the wrapped good infront of his door. Did he drop it? He briefly examined the nameplate and to his surprise it didn’t come from his fans, but Marimari. 

He felt his face flush and immediately made sure nobody was near before he quickly picked up the object and fleed to his room.  Dyuradyura wasn’t one to read too much into situation but there wasn’t any other explanation for this, was there? He compared the nameplate’s handwriting to Marimari’s usual signature to make sure his friends weren’t playing pranks on him either. But how was he supposed to react to this anyways? There was White Day in a month but he wanted the closure he waited for so long. 

Not to crush the delicate package out of excitement he carefully placed it on his desk to go back to dinner cooking. That evening he prepared everyone’s favorite dishes.

After dinner he was still pondering over when to actually talk to Marimari. He figured it’d be best to do it after everyone took their nightly baths and got ready for bed.

And so, after a long day and bath he took a seat at the Kotatsu where Monmon was still munching sweets, waiting. “But we just had dinner...” Dyuradyura sighed and grabbed the now empty package to admire its design. “That was Marimari’s chocolate, just saying.”  “...?!” “Didn’t you get your share yet? Oh well, go ask her for it later or something.”, Monmon shrugged and continued eating the last pieces.  Ah..of course. It was Marimari they were talking about. Of course she would be cooking chocolate for everyone. But deep in his heart he hoped that at least this time she would see him as more than just another friend.

“If you keep quiet forever nothing will change.” Dyuradyura simply clicked his tongue at this best friend’s snarky remark. However more than anyone he knew Monmon was right. “Hah. What do you know?”

He thought about how Marimari must have just finished her bath. Not like that mattered now that he had no reason to go talk to her. Guess he will keep quiet a little longer.

He was in the kitchen preparing the usual cups of tea for Marimari. But unlike the other times Marimari entered the kitchen to have the tea instead of Dyuradyura bringing it to her room.  “You really didn’t have to..” “You already worked so hard today! Besides, I can get the tea myself perfectly fine~!”  Dyuradyura sighed with a faint smile and placed the tea set on the dining table to start their nightly tea party with the first sip. “I knooow you’re not a sweet tooth like at all but..how did you like it?” “..I didn’t try it yet but I’m sure it’s delicious. Thank you very much again.” ... “Are you mad everyone got the same thing?” Dyuradyura almost choked on his tea at her comment and cleared his throat before making sure he heard her right. “I mean.. it’s selfish but by the end of the day everyone wants to be special to someone, you know? I should’ve at least tried making individual gifts.. I regret how half-hearted these turned out...” Before she could finish her thought Dyuradyura stood up and slammed his hands on the table, with his face completely flushed. “T-that’s not true! You’re kind to everyone.. you treat all your friends equally and try your best no matter what. It’s why I like you so much..I- I mean everyone does and well...”  Their eyes locked for a few seconds before Marimari bursted out laughing. “Haha you sure changed, Dyuradyura.” “?” “D-don’t get me wrong..not in a bad way of course! But you seem more relaxed lately? ...I think! It’s not much but..how about we have some of the leftover chocolate in the fridge? Don’t tell the others, alright? Shhh”

Dyuradyura smiled at their selfish antics but more than that he laughed at his own selfishness in this moment. Even if he was content with things staying this way, he knew that his feelings had grown more selfish over time. But perhaps that wasn’t such a bad thing.
