A trademark applied for "クロノア" on June 30th, 2025 has been published today on July 8th, 2025. It was applied along with 67 other trademarks by Bandai Namco consisting of names relating to existing IP/games. Like with many trademark applications, it is not entirely certain what this is for, but it could have something to do with their recent initiative to expand the different IP you are able to license from them.

Up until now "クロノア" specifically hasn't been trademarked before, but two instances of "クロノア＼ＫＬＯＮＯＡ" have been back in 2002 and 2003 respectively.[1][2] This current trademark has a classification 9, 18, 28, and 41. These classifications cover a wide range of possible uses (but do not automatically confirm exactly what it'll be used for). For reference, the trademark for "１＆２アンコール", the subtitle which was used for the Japanese release of Phantasy Reverie Series, has the classification of 9 and 41.[3] However, the inclusion of classifications 18 and 28 point towards potential merchandising uses, therefore this recent trademark could be for the licensing initiative.

Also note that there is a trademark for "ワッフーアンコール" (Wahoo Encore), that could be a potential Klonoa game subtitle, still registered in Japan.
