the thunder roared

shocked me awake from sleep

lightning flashed

then thunder crashed

scared the bejesus out of me

'cause it reminded me of you

those footsteps of doom

the mission you had to punish

upstairs you'd tread

my soul full of dread

my helplessness you relished

my tears like rain

my body in pain

a plan in my head taking shape

i was so good

didn't doubt like you should

until i could finally escape

but when thunder is near

and it rings in my ear

i think of you and that tantrum footfall

you underestimated me

and now i am free

your arrogance was your greatest downfall

Au fic idea. Peter Pan and Tinkerbell are the villains kidnapping and killing kids, and Captain Hook is an escaped Lost *Girl* trying to take Pan down (tbh this development came because I couldn't use the tattoos or shirts on a male torso, please make a complete pirate game, @elequinoa I beg you).

I also renamed Tiger Lily's tribe to the "hummingbird tribe" because there's no way I was touching the other name or appropriating an existing indigenous tribe with a ten-foot pole (also she's native to Neverland, not America, so I feel free to explore what indigeneity would mean in a place like Neverland).

Also, I *really love* hummingbirds (brief side tangent). Their wings beat 80 times per second in a figure 8 motion, they're solo migrators, they hibernate, are tiny, cute, colorful, hardworking, resilient, are the only birds who can fly in all directions, and I think are the only birds who can hover in place.
