hhhhh I don’t wanna go to work today. I just wanna stay home and do art

For context there was a pretty bad storm in my area back in 2021 when I was still living with my parents. Think like gale force winds and lightning strikes 2-3x a second, very unusual for northeast BC. anyways my mom and my brothers and I were hiding out in our holiday trailer for some reason and I was worried about our dog Thor who was in the house alone, so I decided to go join him, and the storm was so bad at this point that the rain was blowing sideways, trees were getting snapped in half, and the only source of light was the lightning. So as I’m walking up the path to the house, all of a sudden I’m pummelled to the ground by something big. Luckily I wasn’t hurt too bad, and I made it inside to comfort Thor.

Once the storm had passed the next morning, we found a pretty big dent in the eaves on the house, a dent in the back of the holiday trailer (my mom said that after I left something hit the trailer and moved it a foot or so from where it was parked) and a completely destroyed trampoline in front of the shop on the other side of the driveway. So now every time there’s a storm rolling in, we make sure to tie down the trampoline and I keep an eye out in case someone else’s trampoline goes rogue and hits me again.

Day 14:

Two weeks of no youtube on my phone! I feel like I got more stuff done than before, mostly because I’m not glued to a screen and doom scrolling for hours on end. My daily screen time has gone down, and I started reading again over the last couple days. And on top of all that, it’s refreshing to not be bombarded by constant advertisements.

I probably won’t keep updating here, but rest assured I will enjoy every moment moving forward without that app taking away my precious time.

I’m tempted to delete the YouTube app from my phone for a while because I’m getting burnt out from trying to keep up with all the channels I’m subscribed to. I reckon in about two weeks I’ll have completed at least three projects. Let’s see if this works!

Day 13:

I forgot just how much food symbolism there is in the hunger games. In the districts, it is more precious than gold, and time and time again people will risk their life for it. Foxface died because she was so desperate for food she didn’t know the berries she stole were poison. Food was what brought Katniss and Peeta together, first with the loaves of bread and then Haymitch bribing them for the sake of the love story plot the Capitol craved. Heck, the main characters are named after foods. All in all, I’m not gonna look at food the same way for a while.

Day 12:

Had a chill day, worked on art and got halfway through the first Hunger Games book.
