Fictober 2019: #2
“This is the Tomb of Adjunta Pall. Greatest of the first Dark Lords and- Ah!” Talos’ lecture was cut off by a mad acolyte who found his end at the tip of Tosali’s lightsaber. “A crazed lunatic, we’re getting close,” the Inquisitor replied cheerfully.
“I take it it’s not your first time down here, m’lord?” the slight Imperial asked as he consulted his notes.
“Not as much no. Somehow, every chore on the Overseer’s list ends with a trip into a skelly hole,” Tosali mused.
“A skelly hole? What a quaint way of- Oh dear.”
Talos stopped short of in front of what looked like a pool of blood with human skeletons piled one atop the other.
“My lord, I don’t suppose… this would be…”
“A skelly hole?” Tosali laughed, “not quite yet. Here. If you’re looking for the broken sarcophagi, we need to hang a left at the blood pool.”
“Good! Yes, marvelous! I think we’ll be able to find the secret chamber in no time.”
“What are we looking for again?” Tosali asked as she lifted her torch to catch glimpses of the markings on the wall. She had insisted on simple fire torches as anything with a bulb tended to short out deep within the tombs.
“The head of a Tukata, heavily engraved with red crystals for eyes. Perhaps garnet, or rubies or…” Talos listed the possibilities as he was too engrossed in his datapad to notice the flickers of the shadows that seemed to skitter along the walls as though alive.
“Kyber?“
“You read my mind, my lord.”
“You know what, Talos. I think I know exactly the place you’re talking about. Follow me,” she passed him the torch as she took a few steps into a nearby corridor and began to prod and press at the seams. Slowly the heavy stone wall receded and opened to reveal a long narrow hallway. With a giddy smile, Talos dove right in followed closely by Tosali.
“I imagine we have a good chance of finding the tablet undamaged. Most tomb robbers are after treasure and artifacts, not poetry or literature. Not unless there’s a market for them,” Talos chirped ever the optimist.
“If the Sith Alchemical equations were hidden in bits of poetry, it would explain why the tomes were destroyed in the second dynasty. Hopefully nothing has damaged the walls, we should have brought a scanner” Tosali frowned.
“It should be fine, I trust fortune will favor us, my lord!”
The hallway ended in a small square chamber. Upon the far wall, the grotesque head of a Tukata had been carved into the black glossy stone. Red gleaming eyes peered down at them. However, in the center of the room there were the desiccated remains of a Twi’lek woman chained to the floor.
“That, was not in the notes,” Talos breathed.
“I imagine not, I hadn’t locked Mother away back then.”
“Mother? As in your-”
“Just follow me, I know the area,” Tosali said as she stepped over her mother’s corpse and tugged on one of the tukata’s fangs to reveal a spiral staircase. “We’ll be at the Poet’s Wall in no time.”

"Whomst?"
My Sith Inquisitors are all different. Some grew up as battle slaves, some grew up as domestic slaves, some grew up as bordello slaves. Some are human, some are Imperial alien races, some are non-Imperial alien races. Some are light-side, some are dark-side, some are gray. Some have made one choice, some have made another choice, some have said to hell with that and done something totally different.
But none of them have ever forgotten Kory.

Various levels off sass. Left to right, top to bottom:
Darth Tremas Cidran (Bubblegum Sith Warrior totally amused by your fashion choices)
Malavai Quinn (Disaster Imperial very uncomfortable being alive)
Tosali (Guano-Crazy Sith Inquisitor just waiting lobbing a molotov cocktail into a shyrack pit for the lolz)
Vaakot (Pure Cinnamon Roll Jedi Consular prone to spacing out)

HAPPY TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!
Greetings from Rishi!
Tosali: If you’re about to crack a Booty joke I’ll toss you off the the boardwalk.
Andronikos: I’m not sure if that was a pun or not.
Tosali: I swear, Rishi brings out the worse in you.
Andronikos: It’s the outfit.
Tosali: I was wondering what you were cosplaying as…

Here we see a fossil egg that was fried before it could hatch into a fossilized chicken. Because that's how fossils work, right?
