The Touch Tunnel Returns to Liberty Science Center!
Opens to the Public February 18
One of the most popular original experiences at Liberty Science Center returns to the institution starting February 18. The Touch Tunnel is a pitch-black, crawl-through maze that guests navigate by sense of touch alone. Exploring an unknown environment in the dark brings into focus just how much the average human relies on vision, giving guests a new appreciation of this important sense.
The original Touch Tunnel generated a loyal fan base that will be thrilled to discover that the new edition has more twists and turns, adding to the challenge of making it through. It was first located on the former Health Floor from 1993 to 2005 when it was removed to accommodate new exhibitions added to the Center during an ambitious 22-month renovation and expansion. However, after receiving steady guest requests to bring it back, Science Center officials decided to restore the Touch Tunnel in a new version, further enhancing the institution’s award-winning mix of hands-on exhibitions, programs and other science-rich learning opportunities.
