Lands End - May 2024
Provia 400, Yashica Mat 124 G
It’s become a custom for myself to wander the streets of San Francisco whenever I visit. I’m not sure what it is I’m looking for but sometimes I end up in places like this. I’ve seen Lands End from a distance and heard reference to it but this was the first time I was able to see it with my own eyes. I sometimes wonder what things would be like if I had moved here years ago.

Santa Barbara - Winter 2024
Expired tungsten slide film shot on a modified half-frame camera with a PL mount and cinema lens. There was nothing normal about this roll.
Color balancing was a nightmare and the film was covered in dust and scratches. With a half-frame camera, you’re locked into a 48 or 72 shot roll which can be daunting. This was taken late in the day, so I removed the color correction filter which was a Tiffen 85A so I could get every bit of exposure possible.
The lens was a Sigma Cine 50mm T1.5 so focus was actually a little difficult at times with the light available for the viewfinder.

This morning displayed some of my favorite blues that I’ve seen in a long time. They remind me of the kind of blues that you spend with special people in silence. The only sound you hear is each other breathing along with the trees.

Reversal film can be tricky to expose for in backlit environments.
