My opinion on “they lived happily ever after” for destiel is it shouldn’t happen. At least, not in the traditional sense. I don’t think cas would really enjoy or understand the suburban lifestyle, i feel like every time we’ve seen him be a human he’s been really out of his element (because he literally is lol). And dean, i know it’s something he wanted most, but i don’t think it’s realistic for him either. It’s absolutely impossible to get rid of monsters and demons, and certainly not forever. I’d like him to retire and live a normal life, but he’d always be paranoid. And when he did try living a normal life with lisa, he WAS paranoid the entire time.

My compromise between wanting a happily-ever-after, and the nature of their doomed narratives, is that they live together in the afterlife. Or in heaven, i guess. There are no demons or monsters out to get them, cas is able to show his true form and dean is able to see it. They enjoy peace and each other’s company. I think i view it as a jayvik kind of thing, where they’re in this astral plane together, bodies and souls and minds intertwined together. They’re dormant but awake at the same time. Or maybe they’re like ash and they basically travel all of heaven (or even the world) together

I like the idea of them living a domestic gay american suburban life, but i feel like it doesn’t really fit.

If anyone wants to discuss their ideas of a destiel happy ending that aren’t just “and they bought a home and baked pies, the end” plz add onto this post
