My take on Beast Wars Grimlock:

He is a Triceratops, old… A grampa to Primal. My idea is that Grimlock has grown more wise and thinks more like Optimus in a way. The Triceratops was a rival to the T. Rex so he grew stronger in a way. He tells Primal his wars stories that inspired Primal to explore more and seek more stories of this past. Grimlock still talks in the third person :3
