This is a legacy challenge I created to add some more drama and spice to my game while enjoying the many packs and features it has to offer (that I often forget exist)! Feel free to use mods/cc in your games or play completely vanilla. It’s all up to you! In some generations, I will add some mod suggestions that I think would add to the overall experience of that gen, but it is NOT a must! Feel free to alter certain goals to suit your play style as I want you guys to enjoy the legacy and have fun! I hope you guys are ready for some drama & hot tea! 🍵

This legacy is pack heavy (I couldn’t help myself 😭) so feel free to swap out traits, aspirations and goals to something you can do with the packs you own. Some generations are more wholesome than others. Some are filled with drama! If you want to check things off your list, make a copy of the rules to keep for yourself, then you should be able to edit it! Oh and I want to see your sims!! There’s nothing Short n’ Sweet about this challenge 🤭 Although I did try to make it shorter by pairing two songs together. Most of the songs from the album are sad, which led to some very romantically tragic (but dare I say realistic) generations. If you get bored of the "perfect household", this challenge is for you!

Ever wanted to rotate or move your sims after they were already in a pose? Or maybe have an easier time aligning multiple sims or sim(s) to an object?

This is basically (almost) a replacement for the "Teleport Any Sim" mod, as I found it to be quite unintuitive to have to use buy mode when wanting to pose multiple sims or a sim to an object. There may be some very niche edge cases were you may still need "Teleport Any Sim" for a pose, but otherwise you can just use this, which I find to be a lot more convenient to use.

The mod comes with 5 interactions that only show up when posing. For more info on the interactions and edge cases view the mod's description on Curseforge or ModTheSims. It works with both WW's (either version) and Andrew's pose players.

So here I bring you another challenge made into infographics!! I present to you the Space Legacy Challenge by fantastic @simsandstrawberries!!! The Guts Legacy Challenge

Nearly three years to the day since I first posted the Sour Legacy Challenge and Guts is finalllllly ready for you (never thought I'd see the day) 😭🤘✨

Same drill as before: the rules are lax, make this your own, take it slow or fast, use lots of mods and cheats or don't, I don't care—my only hope is that this helps you tell a creative, chaotic story in our favorite little dollhouse game.

Note for gen 1: if you don't have the sticky fingers aspiration in your game, I recommend fabulously wealthy or mansion baron!

I AM HAVING SO MUCH FUN!!! No seriously this pack is so good. Like okay pottery is op and you can earn a lot from it BUT it takes sooo long to actually make stuff. It took me TWO in game weeks to fully make and stock the shop with the pottery items so I had to get a loan from the bank to pay my bills and also furnish the shop in the meantime while I was crafting as I was determined to only open a fully stocked shop and didn’t have a source of income till then…. Umm realism and grinding literally my fav type of gp EVER!!! As always I’m playing realistically so I don’t spam craft all day. I go to HS with Maeve some days and play at the shop others so it’s really chill and balanced and the progress from having an empty shop to what it is now is so satisfying. As of now Pascal has a 25k loan he is repaying and his bills and property tax is 10k every 4 weeks and I haven’t even finished fully furnishing their home and the shop…. it’s great!!!!

(ts4) cc making testing guide

we've been making cc for a longg time and figured it would be good to share how we test our own cc and make sure it works for as many sims as possible! the guide will be based on a loose understanding already of s4s.

remove the original shadow, specular, and normal maps!!! a lot of the base items you start on do have their own speculars (what makes it shiny), shadow maps (false shadows to make it look better), and normal maps (extra details outside the plain texture). very rarely those will work exactly with what new item you're making, so be sure to REMOVE them! double triple check that they're empty by clicking "Make Blank" in s4s. if your mesh is shiny even after removing the specular and there's already no normal, you need to upload just a blank 1024x2048 png to it to remove the shininess.

having weight transfer issues? try subdivision! sometimes when using "nearest vertex" weight transfers your CC can well.. goof up in CAS and be reallyyy spiky. those are the vertices that have screwed weights and smoothing out the weight transfer by subdividing it will help tremendously. subdividing will just double the amount of poly you have - imagine you're folding a piece of paper. your UV is small if you just fold your paper 4 times thus not much room for morphing wiggle room in your weights. fold that paper 16 times? that's a lot more coverage and wiggle room for morphs!

test on multiple sims - maxis defaults, cc presets, skintones, etc! more the merrier! just remember that everyone's sim is not like the standard female/male sim bases a lot of cc making is done on. you'll want to check how it looks on larger sims, different skintones (not just white to tan!), the opposite body frames, even on CC presets to see how well the weights are working. not everyone uses the same CC, so take it as a bouncing off point on what needs to be adjusted to work as best as possible. not everything is going to work perfectly! there's a lot of different mods that can make extreme changes you just can't account for if you're going for a general audience. it also helps to load different sims to try your CC on. sometimes you get a red herring where it works on the first sim you load up! all of the sudden everyone loads it up and it's not working at all. that's just ts4 for you, so watch out!

update your CC's tags! go through each and every category of your package to make sure it aligns to what it even is! make sure it appears in the right outfit category, not meant for kids, whether it should be on in the shower or not, and TAKE THAT ALLOW FOR RANDOM TICK OFF! not everyone knows how to use s4s and shouldn't be expected to go through all their CC to fix the tags so it works properly for your game

don't just stand there, make them walk! a lot of CC can look perfectly fine on a still model, but you can find a LOT of issues just by loading a walk cycle in CAS to see if there's any weight issues, clipping, or anything really odd that shouldn't be happening. people who use CC in their gameplay will be having their sims walk, talk, sit, and animate, so be sure they're just not gonna flash everybody or got some polygons stuck in their teeth!

exporting a s4s mesh? let's clean it up! for some reason when you export a s4s mesh, there will be extra polygons that can easily be removed in blender. in this tutorial, we'll be using 2.7. this really helps on high poly meshes and remove any conflicting UVs that can make clipping issues.

we hope that helps! this is based on our private guide for people who test our own CC, which you should definitely try to reach out to others to test it out. each computer is unique and something can pop up you wouldn't ever come across - it doesn't hurt to try work out all the kinks before publishing! if you need some more help or starting point, we even have our own resource pack that has great references and items that will make your process go easier. good luck to your CC making journey <3

Potentially controversial opinion, but if you're brand-new to making CC, you shouldn't be attempting to monetize your content. Baby's First Recolor shouldn't have links to your Patreon. Perhaps learn how to take consistent preview images before you start trying to establish your Brand Identity (tm).

😁Tips to Keep Your Sims 4 Save from Breaking Down! 💣🤞🏾

If you've been on YouTube lately, you've probably seen the wave of players dealing with corrupted saves, forever loading screens, and worlds breaking beyond repair. It’s frustrating, but after months of rebuilding my own save (with over 30,000 mods and CC files—yes, really😕), I’ve found some ways to keep major errors at bay.😁

While no save is completely error-proof, these tips might help you avoid game-breaking issues and keep your Sims’ world running smoother.

1️⃣ Backup, Backup, Backup!

Always keep a copy of your save outside the game—on your desktop or an external drive. Do NOT rely on the in-game "Recover Save" feature, because if your save is corrupted, chances are the recovered version is too.

2️⃣ Use "Save As" Instead of Spamming Save

Instead of constantly clicking "Save," use "Save As" and create a fresh save. Overwriting the same file multiple times (7-10 times or more) can bloat the file and slow down your game. Once you've saved a new version, delete the old one (since you have a backup anyway!). This keeps your save cleaner and prevents sluggish performance.

3️⃣ Be Mindful of Lot Placement

Some worlds are known for stuck items, exclamation mark errors, or disappearing lots—especially San Myshuno, Oasis Springs, Willow Creek, and Evergreen Harbor. If you're having issues, avoid placing residential-Rental lots there.

However, I’ve found Del Sol Valley, Ciudad Enamorada, Tomarang, and Ravenwood to be much more stable for residential and rental lots!

4️⃣ Don’t Go Overboard with Mansions

Large homes with tons of clutter and objects can bog down your game. If you don’t love playing super-rich Sims in mansions, consider using large lot spaces (50x40 and up) for community lots instead of oversized residential builds. It helps keep your save lean and functional.

5️⃣ Stop Hoarding Photos

Sims’ in-game photographs and screenshots take up a surprising amount of space. Keep only 10-20 photos per household and delete the rest. Also, regularly empty the "Screenshots" folder in your Sims 4 directory to avoid unnecessary bloating.

6️⃣ Keep Your World Clean

While your Sims sleep, take a quick scan of the neighborhood and delete random objects left lying around (plates, trash, random items). This helps prevent save file bloat and keeps the world from lagging.

7️⃣ Purge Unnecessary NPCs

Check Manage Households and delete unneeded NPCs. The game constantly generates new townies, and over time, they clog up your save. You don’t have to delete all of them, but clearing out a chunk can help performance.

Bottom Line

When your save file becomes bloated with unnecessary things, it becomes unstable! That means it will start to break down and cause issues—just like the errors many players are experiencing right now.

Keeping your save clean and optimized is the best way to prevent crashes, long load times, and corruption before they happen.

Final Thoughts

😕Is my game completely error-free? Nope. Right now, I’m dealing with rain and snow falling inside my Sims’ apartments and houses (because of course, EA). And I still get the occasional MCCC Last Exception (but they’re minor).

However, I’m NOT experiencing the major game-breaking errors that are all over YouTube. A few months ago, my save was nearly unplayable, but these changes made a huge difference.

Composition Method

In TS4, composition method determines how a texture blends over / into the default skin texture.

I don’t know the specifics of every composition method number, but I’ll give a quick rundown on the numbers I use most often:

0 - This makes the texture show up in-game exactly as you made the texture. There’s no blending into the skin. I personally use this for makeup because it shows up best on all skin-tones, where EA’s default method washes out the color of lipsticks and eyeshadows and makes them way too soft and muddy.

3 - This makes the texture blend into the default skin-tones. This is the composition method you would use to make overlay skins, and skin details.

I don’t generally touch any of the other composition methods, BUT 4 will come in use for strange pixelation on certain things. Most common is pixelation near the eyebrows, hairline, or at the edges of your texture.

To change the composition method of a file, you must have S4S.

Open S4S. You should see the following screen:

Click on ‘My Projects’ to open the file you’d like to edit. S4S should load up a preview of the content, with details to the right.

Click the ‘Warehouse’ tab located at the upper left corner. Now your screen should look like this:

It can be pretty overwhelming! What you want to do is click on the CAS part at the left, so that it turns blue. That will select that particular swatch. Now, in the search bar to the right, type in ‘comp’.

Enter the number you’d like to use. Do this for every single CAS Part ( excluding ‘CAS Part Thumbnail’ ). Save. That’s it! The file has now been overwritten. Make sure to clear your game caches so that the updated file works.

It's the same story over and over again. Please stop giving your money (or promotion!) to people who call us (yes, all of us!) fools, and continue to be mean lest anyone responds with anything but unconditional positive engagement. There's no way that this community is so deprived of content that we'd settle for bare minimum. Bare minimum in this case is releasing content that works (allegedly), and responding to feedback respectfully.
