I've had this in my head for a while... Quick Raised-By-Draxum AU inspired by that one scene in K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Draxum: [Reading the Hidden City Gazette or something]

Leo: [Guitar twang offscreen] There once was a man from Nantucket~ o/` - Stop me if you've heard this one.

Draxum: [Eyerolls behind his paper.] I already regret getting you that infernal human instrument. What is it now?

[The Turtles all file in and fan out behind Leo who's strumming his guitar.]

Leo: Okay, okay. You're gonna love this one. -Guaranteed- human trap. We'll lull them into a false sense of security and then Boom!

Draxum: [Lowers paper.] All right. And how do you propose pulling that off, exactly?

Leo: Like… this! [Snaps fingers.]

[They all strike a pose. Draxum looks unimpressed.]

Draxum: …I'm not following.

Leo: [Still posing with his brothers, holds up a hand.] Wait, wait wait- You're gonna love this. [Snaps fingers again-]

[Their outfits all change…to ones that look very much like their canon band attempt. Shifting poses ala Saja.]

Draxum: -no.

[Turtles all slump]

Leo: WHY

Donnie: I -knew- we should've stuck with one genre!

Muninn: For what it's worth, I think you guys sound great!

Huginn: There, there, I'm sure the boss will come around!

I'm really enjoying the feel of the Kurutoga Metal mechanical pencil. Metal-bodied pens and pencils in general have always been my preference I guess, but there's something to the weight of this one that lends...I don't know, something to the experience when putting down lines on paper. In general I just have more fun drawing with it.

Anyway, here's some volare!Donnie study sketches.

And here's a thing I did with Copics that I forgot to post. Playing with colors and stuff.

Sometimes.... you can't fix everything.

My mom's been in and out of the hospital since May. It's been a frustrating and stressful time for my family, and we haven't been given any good news. It's hard not knowing what to do, knowing we try to do all we can, knowing it won't be enough. It's harder when the efforts don't seem appreciated or understood, it's straining, but we still do things, we still push on.

It helps knowing that even when things are far beyond our control, Someone greater is taking care of everything. I'm grateful for all my family and friends, for the support and love that's always been offered. I'm thankful knowing that as hard as things get, we have a God who is always with us and always loves us, and that we'll always be able to make it to the other end of things, never alone.

Does it make it easier? A little. I know I'd probably be in a lot different a head space otherwise. Still tired, still trying to hold things together, still hoping and praying for the best possible outcome.

It still hurts, it's still hard. But I'm still going.

Aaaand back to alcohol markers...

I wanted to try out Yupo Paper.

I kind of like the effects but not sure the colors blend too well on such a slick surface..? Or maybe I'm not doing it right cuz I'm more used to paper that actually soaks a bit.

Then I tried... I believe it's Canson brand's marker paper- which is nice because it doesn't bleed through despite being a very light paper.

And then for funsies I wanted to try alcohol marker on Artik's notebook paper, which is, according to the cover, 100% sugarcane, tree-free paper. Very nice stuff, lightly tinted but very smooth texture and fountain pen-friendly!

...unfortunately I'm spoiling the mood with a sad spider-turtle boy oops.

(You'd feel bad too if you knew your brothers were creeped out by your extra leggies as much as you were)

I thought yōkai hunters who were also yōkai sounded interesting and then was like 'wait, I technically have done that already' so I decided to give my BBtLotM boys a more modern treatment. Actually I just wanted to design fun costumes for them

So here's Yotsuo, Sannan, Jinnan and Chōnan all decked out.

Also just really wanted to try some of my ink samples from Kitty Inkpot because the shading is amazing on some of the colors!! You can see it where there are seemingly two different colors, like Yotsuo's gold/green and the blue/pinks on Jinnan's. Each of those is actually a single ink. Shading inks are my favorite type of fountain pen inks. +_+ Unfortunately the color I thought I'd use for Chōnan's main reds came out more of a brown (seen used as the background color on his picture), so I had to layer over some watercolors. Most of the coloring otherwise is also with watercolor.

So Turtlecon was indeed very tiny, but it was still fun to dip into. Alas, no RotTMNT things- which...admittedly I was not terribly surprised about but still disappointed. Saw a small group of cosplayers though!

Got to meet Ciro Nieli! I made a pic for him- it's been a long time since I've drawn 2012 Raph and the Usagi episodes were one of my favorite arcs.

Was happy to hear this costume was also one of his favorites too!

...off-topic but does anyone get weird messages whenever they tag something with watercolor? Particularly in supposed interest of purchasing them? I'm sure they're robots or scams or scammer robots unless they're just really interested in turtle fanart? XD;

I went into this one planning to try utilizing white gouache and then ending up not using it at all pff.

Skullcandy had this model of headphones called Aviators that I absolutely loved the look of, some...I don't remember, years ago, but they recently came out with new ones so I kind of incorporated the design here. Stuck some cat ears on, as you do. I don't know, it's probably just me, but Dee always looks kinda weird if I don't have something on his head to offset his....head. XD

This was an experiment with textures. I think I should have gone darker but I was afraid the paper would start to fuzz.

Aw, thank you! I haven't watched any Pokemon in a bajillion years and never really got into it so that's kind of funny XD But then prior to this revisited Turtle phase all I used to draw was manga/anime style stuff so maybe that's it in general.
