finally finished up my WIPs for Riverview!  And since we’re putting together my dreamtown, we went straight up 70s goodness!  Welcome to:

Lucky Strike is the bowling alley/gambling den/live venue/bar you’ve always wanted and never knew you needed in your town.  Hit the arcade, build up your jock cred and indulge in some diner food with your teenage friends.  Or head downstairs to the bar for a night of live entertainment and questionable food where you can dance the night away on the bar or the dance floor.  Feeling really lucky?  Use the secret side door and know the right words to get you into the casio for some high stakes.  But if you really want to play with the Big Boys (and Girls) you’re going to need to get past the bouncer first.

last WIP for Riverview completed.  Put this on a lot I created right next to the police station.  Because of course I did.

The Catch A Break is where you go at the end of a day or on your lunch hour to get away from it all and explore who you really are when you’re not in business uniform.  For some people, that’s the best darn donuts in town.  For others that’s a quick video game bout or D&D session at the nerd shop and for others its time to paint your dreams on your skin at the tattoo shop.  Home to renegades, rebels and rogues (and some cops too), Catch A Break is where you go for what you are.

So I’m finishing up lots for my Riverview remake and *gasp!* yes!  I actually did finally make that farmer’s market I was rattling on about earlier!  So here we go.  Small market lot with all the things a family needs for a day of being rural and countryish before heading back to town.

Rabbithole Row Grocery & Bookstore now playable - For Boroughsburg [DOWNLOAD]

If there is one thing I hate in the Sims 3 its rabbit holes! I love to follow my sims wherever they go and watch them doing everyday things… like browsing through the aisles of their local grocer or bookstore :)

Built on 33 Feinbild Ave 40 x 20 lot in Boroughsburg by @potato-ballad-sims

I have all expansions except ITF, no stuff packs.  Any objects used are however replaceable except if using WA registers.

If you just want the lot for STORYTELLING will have to place decor grocery items on your shelves which you can get here. Nothing needed for the bookstore although I still placed a rabbit hole rug. However, the WA books register sells ALL the books that the rabbit hole does so feel free to delete it. Get more custom WA registers here. Your work is done and you can skip the rest of this post.

Setting up your functional grocery store using Ani’s Savvier Seller mod

@anitmb​ has a great video on how to set up a  functional store using her savvier seller mod, NB: Needs EA Savvy Sellers Collection to work.

Getting great custom shelves and registers for savvier seller

OPTION 1: Download ready-made savvier seller shelves and registers such as these ones.

OPTION 2: Use ANY shelves or registers  as savvier seller (my preferred method)

Download The Transmogrifier (aka Object Script Changer) by icarus_allsorts. Hands down the best mod ever made for the sims 3!

Go into buy mode and select one of the savvier seller shelves and place on your lot. Also place any shelves you want to use in your store on your lot.

CTRL+Shift and click on the original savvier seller shelf and select copy script.

CTRL+Shift and click on any other shelf and select paste script.

Congrats! Your shelves are now considered as savvier seller shelves with all their functionality.

Can use the same method to turn WA or custom registers into savvier seller registers as well as to turn EA Bakers Bazaar store shelves into savvier seller.

PRO TIP: Change the shelves to savvier seller BEFORE placing items on them as changing the script will remove all items from the shelves.

All the shelves on the lot are regular shelves ready to use OPTION 2 to change into savvier seller or you can replace with savvier seller using OPTION 1. 

The shelves on the lot are however empty as I don’t use deco food/grocery in my game (I prefer to actually play, not stage pictures), so all the items are from various mods. I’ve however curated a list below of places you can get functional items (meaning your sims can use them from their inventory if they purchase them) to stock your shelves with to your heart’s content. 

Suggested functional food items for your Grocery store

Custom Content Loader - CCLoader by douglasveiga. Needed to load all the below inderellimod_GreekRecipesPlantsIngredients_FullVersion.zip

Cooking and Ingredients Overhaul + More Nectar Ingredients by Cinderellimouse. This is essential to get the buyable ingredients from the rabbit hole grocery store and all the other custom recipe mods. Read her instructions carefully and only install the options that best suits you. I chose to use the below ones:

Arsil custom beverages - Sandy has a bunch of items that use this mod script. See links here, here and here. In my gameplay, I place them in the fridges to the back of the store.

Drinkable custom wine bottles (Gin, Vodka, Martini, Porto, Baileys etc.) by @aroundthesims. I place them in my alcohol/beverage section.

Arsil bag of chips mod. PS - @mspoodle1 made some amazing chips using this script. Sandy also made edible pringles using the script. All can be placed on your grocery shelves in the snack section.

Arsil Ketchup and Co. mod - adds functional ketchup, mustard and mayo to your game that changes the taste of food. Can be placed on shelves and sold.

Arsil chewing gum. - adds edible chewing gum! Sandy also has a fancier looking gum based on this mod. Get it here.

Candy from @aroundthesims​ - tictac here and candy tin with candy here. 

Suggested Non-food functional items for your Grocery Store

Arsil Cooler Mod and @aroundthesims​ coolers - to create your own picnic, carry lunch to work/school that won’t spoil. I also place the coolers on the grocery shelves along with regular picnic baskets.

Child2Toddler2Baby v0.6 mod by Arsil - among its many features, also has an option for diaper and bottle to be needed in sims inventory to change and feed baby. Therefore, these can also be sold on your grocery store shelves in a baby care section.

Toddlers Extra Activities by Arsil - among its many features, also has a crayon box that toddlers can use to draw on walls. Can add these to your children’s toy section along with other portable toys such as dolls, bears and anything that can interact with from their inventory. 

Toy Bench (Titanic Toy Machine) by Sandy - adds a bunch of other toys to the game such as a drum, kites, jack in the box etc. (all accessible from buydebug) that can be added to your children’s toy section

Cigarette smoking mod by cmomoney - don’t endorse smoking IRL but great mod for adding realism to the game. Cigarette packs can be placed on shelves and sold.

How to stock shelves with the above items.

For ingredients from custom recipes and other grocery rabbit hole items:

Have your sim visit the rabbit hole grocery (click on the rabbit hole rug in front of the main door).

Purchase all the items you want to have on your shelves.

All of the purchased items should be in your sims inventory. You can now manually drag and drop them from the inventory unto the shelves.

For buy mode items:

Open the cheat console (CTRL + Shift + C) and type in testingcheatsenabled true. Press enter.

Shift + Click on the ground of the grocery store lot. Select buy on this lot. 

Purchase and manually place all the items you need such as the custom drinks, wines, chips, ketchup, chewing gum, cooler, picnic basket, toddler toys, crayon, diapers, bottle etc. Most found in the kitchen appliance category or the baby category.
