“are you nervous?” kiyoomi asked.

a slow blink before you mumbled a, “huh?”

“your hand is sweating,” he bluntly stated. in a whim of embarrassment, you immediately pulled your hand out from his grasp. cheeks warming as you tried to calm your beating heart. it was a little nerve wracking, actually extremely nerve wracking. it was absolutely stressful to walk into back into the villa with someone else by your side. not alone like your couple was probably expecting.

his eyes studied you before he stepped closer to you. “are you regretting it?” he questioned.

��no,” you responded with quickness. no hesitation found, or none that he could find. kiyoomi wasn’t necessarily easy to please. at least, most thought so. he didn't really get along with anyone on the first day of casa. it's not like it was unexpected, straightforwardness isn't always appreciated by some. but… he tolerated you that first day. you were someone who he found himself leaning towards. that was probably why he asked you if he could sleep in the same bed as you.

“with me?” you had a puzzled expression on your face. he seemed like the kind of guy who slept in soul ties to avoid sleeping with anyone. he was, this was way out of his comfort zone, hell being on love island already was. but it is basically the whole point.

he nodded, “yeah. with you.”

it was a little funny how dumbfounded you looked. it wasn't that big of a deal anyway. ultimately, you agreed, “oh! yeah, sure!” he liked the giddy expression you had then.

however you were too irresistible, it seemed, since a lot of the other casa people had interest in you too. yet even he was nothing short of competitive. stealing you away from your chats, taking advantage of challenges just to get closer to you, he made use of the few days he had. honestly it was a bit difficult to tell whether or not you were interested in him too. sometimes you’d reciprocate his advances and other times there was hesitation in your actions.

he figured that maybe you didn’t want to do anything necessarily ‘wrong’. at the end of the day, you still had an original partner back in the villa. maybe you found that more meaningful than whatever you had going on with him.

it’s why it was quite the surprise you wanted to take him back to the villa. so many thoughts swarmed his head. did you have ulterior motives? was it just because you actually felt something with him more than what you thought? or something entirely else? whatever it was, he couldn't avoid the fact that he was genuinely happy. glad that you chose him out of everyone else.

it felt right to be by your side and being brought by you and you only. you denied any regret that you may or may not have had. what he knew for sure is that he didn't regret a single moment of pursuing you. “give me your hand,” he said as he held out his own hand.

“what? but it's all sweaty and you–”

kiyoomi reached out and grabbed your hand anyway, giving it a reassuring squeeze while interlocking your fingers with his. “i don't mind it.. even if it's a little gross,” he replied. you let out a noise that was akin to a scoff and a laugh combined. a small smile took over his expression.

“you won't let go?” you hummed.

“you wouldn’t want me to anyway,” he answered.

kenma and jealousy? the two don’t mesh well. his gaze was calculating while he watched the new bombshell talk it up with you. his eye twitched in annoyance. usually, he would brush things that annoyed him off; this wasn’t one of them. he couldn’t simply brush it off with usual coolness. he’s been coupled up with you from the start and things have been going so well. it took a little while, but you two clicked and he found himself finding common interests he had with you. he really liked where you two were headed and you said you did too.

so why the hell does he suddenly have competition?

he blinked as he watched you laugh at something the bombshell said. was it really that funny? he bets it wasn't. it was probably some lame joke or pickup line. how long has that conversation between the two of you been going on anyway? too long since he's started to get a tad bit agitated. finally, he saw the two of you get up with you heading towards him. his eyes were glued on you as you plopped down beside him on the sandy swing. something was clearly off, the surrounding air full of awkwardness.

you shifted your position to look at kenma, “what is it?” he glanced over at you before looking away. of course he wouldn't admit right away that he was giving the bombshell that'd talked to you the stink eye. it'd take a little more prying for him to be able to say it.

“what?” he mumbled.

you huffed in amusement, not being able to stop the smile from appearing on your face. although it’s not easy to tell in another point of view, from your point of view it was almost as if he was sulking. a little envy mixed with that too, probably. “aw, don't be like that. aren't you curious about what we talked about?” you asked as you scooted closer to him. he turned his head away from you. there was a moment of silence.

“no. i know you talked about how we have a good connection and that i'm your priority.” he turned his head back to you only to see you holding back a grin. a quiet giggle slipped past you before you could stop it. of course you thought it was funny. “…i feel embarrassed now.”

you gave him that bright smile that had initially hooked him onto you at the beginning of this trip. the damn smile that was much too radiant under an already bright sun. even so, he liked it when you smiled at him like that. “no, no! you were totally spot on,” you chirped. kenma looked you up and down with slight judgement. you give him a small, playful shove on his arm then rested your head on his shoulder.

“what? you don't believe me?”

“i didn't say anything.”

“then let's go bring that bombshell over right now so they can tell you what exactly i said,” you declared as you sprang up from your position. he pulled you right back down to his side. it can't really be denied that he found your earnestness to be a little entertaining.

he shook his head, “yeah, okay okay. you don't gotta do all that.” he grabbed your hand and tugged you closer to his side. at least, that shows that you actually are interested in him, right? it's hard not to get a little fuzzy feeling from it. his thumb gently swiped back and forth over your knuckles. it was nice, sitting together quietly with the buzz of other islanders chatting in the background. simple, yet still just enough for him to feel close to you.

he eventually spoke up, “maybe i was a little jealous.” you couldn't help but cheekily grin at him in return.

“really? i would've never guessed,” you teased.

in all honesty, shota doesn't even know why he's here. to put it simple, he feels out of place. it’s not like he doesn’t want to be here—well, sometimes he’d much rather be at home.. however, it’s normal to feel homesick especially if your thousands of miles away from the place you were the most comfortable at. he’s already here anyway, so why not make the best of it? he can’t be lazing around all day and taking naps or whatever. he’s in fiji for a reason: to make connections with random strangers in the span of four days and hope that one of them picks him to bring back. such short amount of time, he thought he wouldn’t really click with anyone.

you were there though, and he seemed to really click with you. he was dry, sure, only gave some short answers here and there. at the very beginning, at least. it wasn’t long until he surprisingly found himself flowing with you better than he initially believed he would. something about you sparked something inside of him. unlike with others, he could really see something there. although in his exterior he has that stone face, on the inside he wants to get to know you more. he wants to know your traits, your favorite food, or whatever the hell else you have to talk about. shota aizawa wants to know you.

shota aizawa was also a blunt person and wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. which wasn’t surprising yet even still, it surprised you. “i really like you,” he blurted out mid conversation. he saw the way you paused and blinked as if you were processing his words. “not like like, but i feel we have something going on. don’t we?” he asked. he watched you nod vigorously to agree.

“yeah! i was starting to think it was one sided or something..” you awkwardly admitted to him. he raised a brow at this.

“did i not make it obvious i was interested?” he questioned. he’d thought he did but maybe he didn’t. it’s hard to tell without any second point of view.

you were almost hesitant to respond. “well, uh. your face said one thing and your body language said another. so honestly i was just confused,” you explained with your cheeks warming in embarrassment. it wasn't hard to see the sheepishness written all over your face. it’s not like he could argue back with anything. even he knows his expressions aren’t always the most… reliable, per say.

he raised his hand and brushed his fingers against your cheek. “oh.” he didn't know what to really say because he can't deny that he's not really expressional. he really does have interest in you, though. would it be too soon to kiss you? but then again, there isn't a defined “too soon” on this island. “then, i’ll make sure to make it as plain as day,” he murmured.

his thumb brushed over your bottom lip as he uttered those words. he leaned in closer and noticed the way your eyes automatically closed shut. it was difficult not to fall into the temptation of pressing his lips against yours. however, he can’t give in. not right now at least. his lips brushed against your ear while he whispered, “not yet.” your eyes shot open and he could hear a scoff of disbelief come from you.

“got my hopes up for nothing then?” your eyes narrowed at him. he pulled back to give the both of you some space, dropping his hand from your face only to grab your hand. he brought your hand up and gave a gentle kiss to your knuckles.

he hummed from amusement at your reaction. “not for nothing.. i didn’t say i wouldn’t kiss you,” he quietly chuckled. he’s undoubtedly going to be putting his all into this. after all, he wants you to pick him in the end. how’s he going to get you to do that without putting any effort into swiping you off your feet?

katsuki was a prideful man, that much is obvious. he came into this villa with one purpose: swipe someone off their feet and take them away from their couple. it was his job to, after all. that’s exactly what he did with you because in you, he found something that he might cherish in the future. something that might grow into more. but that was it. just a maybe. he was still open, and you knew that because he made it clear that he was. it’s the whole point of this.

yet now after spending four whole days in casa amor, he walked in with another hand in hand. he wasn’t closed off, he was never closed off, he wasn’t. so why does he feel so embarrassed walking back into the villa with someone else’s hand in his; someone who wasn’t you? the embarrassment that turned into shame once he saw you standing alone at the fire pit which can only mean one thing.

you stayed loyal to him. he didn’t.

he shouldn’t be embarrassed, shameful, or feel as if he’s done something wrong. or.. should he? he’s shown such interest in you, only to come back with another by his side. each step closer to the fire pit made him uncharacteristically nervous. once he approached, he met your eyes and immediately regretted doing so. he could read it all and he wished he couldn’t. then came the dreaded question of how he feels knowing that you stuck with him. he didn’t know what to say. for the first time ever he couldn’t find the courage to speak up. there was a brief moment of silence before he could find his words.

“uh, fuck,” he sighs and runs a hand over his face. “i dunno. shitty or whatever. i mean-it wasn’t like we were closed off or anything.. so it’s not like it’s that big of a deal. and i’m denying the connection we had between us. so i mean i’m still open to exploring that too.” he wondered if that sounded too self absorbed. he guessed it did with the way you quietly scoffed. then you were asked if you had any words for him. both your gazes met again and this time he couldn’t get a read on what you would say.

he watched you shrug, “well it’s.. it sucks. but it’s not like i didn’t know he would walk in here with someone else. like, i know the man so obviously. but i mean, i still like him and i guess i just wanted to give it a shot.” katsuki felt an odd lump in his throat when it’d been revealed you didn’t expect anything less from him. right, you knew him. maybe that’s why it hit more than it should’ve.

he took a seat around the fire pit when told to, all the way on the other side from you. there was no reason for him to sit anywhere near you. not after that stunt he pulled. he’ll have to talk to you once this whole thing is over. but… would you let him? would you really even let him walk up to you and pull you for a chat? or would you push him away and tell him to fuck off? in all honesty, he’d rather you yell at him than have you ignore him. because at least then you would acknowledge him in some way. you completely avoiding him would probably bruise his ego but more importantly it would hurt. it'd hurt him even if he were to deny it a million times.

even admitting that to himself was difficult. you had more control over him than he’d initially thought, he’d be a complete dumbass not to acknowledge that. he stole a glance at you and looked away before your eyes would meet for the third time. pining over someone wasn’t his usual. even so, something about you just stuck. whether it be the playful bickering you two had, the flirty comments you’d exchange, the stolen kisses that were outside the challenges… you were like a parasite that latched onto him.

he should be scared, maybe he was. perhaps it’s what made him couple up with another and not come back single to be with you. it really gets the gears in his mind going. whether he made the right decision or was really at fault here. something deep inside of him told him it was the latter. katuski found himself dealing with inner turmoil and he absolutely hated it. you were the only one who got him worked up like this.

it only adds onto the list of why he should’ve stayed loyal to you. damn it, he’s really going to have to pull you aside later.

cheeky! shoto todoroki who sometimes acted upon instinct, such as having a sudden urge to touch you only to blame it upon you ‘having a spec of dust’; so he puts.

cheeky! shoto todoroki whose hand comes up to pat your head, an indication of when he’d proud of you… and sometimes an excuse to give you some affection when he wants to.

cheeky! shoto todoroki who would huff and sigh to indicate that he wanted your attention. the two of you sat at the library, side by side as you both studied. well, really it was only you who was studying. shoto let out a quiet sigh. a couple minutes passed and another quiet sigh escaped past the bored boy. another couple minutes passed and this time he huffed as if he were frustrated.

just as he was about to sigh again, you quietly groaned in irritation and turned to look at him. “what is it?” you asked.

he met your gaze, slightly tilting his head to the side. a small hum can be heard from him, “..nothing.” you stared at him with exasperation and he returns your look with a small smile.

cheeky! shoto todoroki who would act like he didn’t understand a certain problem or question on a worksheet only so you could deliberately get closer to him. he called out your name and you turn your head in response. “i don’t get this,” he said with furrowed brows.

“lemme see,” you replied. he pointed to the question he was ‘confused’ on and watched out of the corner of his eye as you drew nearer towards him. it was easy to for him hold back the little grin that tried to slip through.

cheeky! shoto todoroki who saw you in the halls early morning before class started, his legs automatically speeding up to catch up to you. he grabbed the handle of your backpack and spun you around so you faced him. he leaned in close, to the point where your noses almost touched. “good morning,” he whispered. he heard the way your breath hitched and he leaned back, walking past you and motioning for you to follow.

cheeky! shoto todoroki acted like he did something back there. (he in fact, did do something)

cheeky! shoto todoroki who would feed you the food himself whenever you asked for a bite from his. “here,” he bluntly stated as he held up his food to your mouth. you leaned back slightly in surprise, glancing between him and the food that he was holding up.

“let me–”

“eat it,” he interrupted you. you gave in (who can say no to that face, after all?) and took a bite from the food in his hand. you slowly chewed and watched as he looked proud of himself.

“you did that on purpose,” you said, words incoherent due to your mouth full of food.

he took a bite from his own food too, “don’t talk while chewing.”
