I work in healthcare and the amount of HIPAA violations that happen on a regular basis - namely, browsing through people's medical records out of curiosity and to mock people - are obscene. the company I work for does my best to combat against this through monitoring but it's impossible to 100% regulate. it was the absolute worst when I worked at a behavioral health clinic, I reported multiple of my colleagues for being unethical. it's really awful for patients and for those of us in healthcare that truly care about other people and want to protect their privacy. also I'm sleeping with my boss.

This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.

Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.

I'm holding on to hope that 8tracks isn't finished. I finally got someone from BackBeat to reply to me on LinkedIn, and according to him the site isn't abandoned.

Don't know how this will happen since BackBeat hasn't delivered on any of their goals since they took over in 2020, and I'm concerned how they're intending to incorporate AI into this scheme, but it's something I guess.

You know what day it is! April 10th is Gopher tortoise appreciation day- everyone’s favorite holiday!

These stalwart reptiles are crucially important to their habitat in the southeastern United States, and are in fact considered a keystone species due the fact that their burrows provide homes for hundreds of other animal species.

Every year on April 10th we shine a light on these threatened turtles and celebrate their contributions to our planet. I’ll be sharing lots of gopher tortoise content today as my way of celebrating how lucky we are to have this species!
