There are so many showrunners who seem really goddamn desperate to produce more adult-oriented animation, but keep getting forced to pitch to kids' networks due to how few people take animation seriously as a medium for plot-driven animation aimed at anyone but children.

Like, iirc The Owl House started out as a concept for a more adult show, and The Dragon Prince crew have said that they consider their show "all ages," not "children's animation."

"Ugh, why do so many adults watch shows for kids..." Because networks are actively getting in the way of writers who want to make ones for adults!!!! Damn it! We're in an absolute renaissance of plot-driven animation but everybody still wants to act like animation is for "kids only!" Why!!!

Anyway support the #NewDealForAnimation and the current push for unionization and reform in the industry. That's not necessarily related to this post I just think it should be said on every post talking about animation rn.

MLB “Ephemeral” spoiler warning

Iirc (and I’m 80 percent sure I do), they shoehorned in some bs about if Ladybug and Cat Noir find out each other’s identities, they have to give up their Miraculous and memories (somewhere in season 3). Yet Cat Blanc was still a thing, and Su Han was fighting with Marinette about learning Cat Noir’s identity, and them being a couple suddenly wasn’t the end of their hero careers. So I’m guessing it was a rule dictated by Fu at whatever point? Also I hatehatehate how Marinette keeps Cat Noir at arm’s length about literally everything, cannot stress it enough. They’re supposed to be partners and she always waits until the last minute to fill him in on anything big. Alsoalso why did Luka go through Marinette’s harebrained plan to find out Cat Noir’s identity at all??? I thought he would just stop her immediately and be like “Oh yeah, I got his name,” because ya know, he already knows Cat Noir’s identity.

once the manga's complete i hope it gets picked up for a better anime adaptation. the one we got feels so lacking. missing arcs, mixing arcs, even the animation is just.... lazy.

there's so many key things missing from the anime, like how the 4 o'clock library and the hell of mirrors dont have water on the floor. and how plot points were mixed up just doesn't work well. like how in episode 12 hanako tells yashiro he had a brother but he killed him. like yeah she knows this. WE know this. okay hanako doesn't know that she knows but still. it was played up all dramatically like in the manga and for WHAT.

am i the only one who felt like episode 12 felt out of place? because of how arcs were mixed it just messed with the flow of the story. i got into tbhk via the anime and when i watched ep 12 i remember thinking about how out of place it was. then i read the manga and realized oh that's because it IS out of place. and what im most upset about is not getting the hanako/kou arc ughhhhh that's probably one of my favorite parts of the whole series.

the colors are gorgeous, i'll give the anime that. but the animation itself is so stiff and i really wish the action/fight scenes were more fluid. i think they even cut out chunks of the fights? like in the hell of mirrors? (i could be wrong)

i know im being being nit picky and this has all probably been said before. i just adore the manga, it's so good and it deserves an equally good anime adaptation

Nothing is as aggravating as seeing something as unique as The Owl House getting shafted because “It didn’t fit the brand.” “It’s not targeting the ideal demographic.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but there are only so many 6-10 year olds on Earth; wouldn’t it be more profitable for a show to appeal to 6-25 year olds?? Also I will go to my grave saying these politics only came about because the creator is a woman. Matt Braly can show an onscreen impalement because 6-10 year olds love that stuff right?

I always kinda lambast people for giving superpowers to younger children in cartoons and I keep thinking that with every new episode. Like, Master Fu could hold all the Miraculouses fine, he’s an old dude who was literally born and raised to do so, he only ever had one tie down that he quickly left behind; otherwise he had absolutely no problem with going far and wide to shake off any pursuers. Marinette, on the other hand, is a middle school student, has parents and teachers and friends to worry about, not in the least an adult villain who has years of Miraculous research/expertise under his belt, and omg it’s so crazy how much Fu just dropped on her. Watching her breakdown to Alya is pretty much the summary of why this situation is so insane

A TBHK theory

Hanako and Yashiro cannot be together.

So you know how Hanako was supposed to die of some unknown illness right?

But because of Tsukasa ‘wish’ Hanako survived like it was was never there right?

Now remember how when Yugi Amane was supposed to become the school scientist cause of his love for astronomy but since that never happened , we can assume that someone else 'replaced’ Hanako’s role, right?

Now remember when Yashiro 'death’ in Clock keeper arc , we don’t see a clear glimpse of her body on how she died

but we an assume she wasn’t burnt, decapitated or hanged.

Now there is many ways to die but in this case let’s do the most likely

Drowned (Unlikely as she can turn into A FISH)

Stabbed ( That could work, as we dont get a clear glimpse of her chest for us viewers not to see but there is no evidence of blood so unlikely 

An illness ( Now we are getting somewhere)                                           

                 (That hand covering her stomach do be sus though)

And we can see how frail and lifeless she is ,obviously died of something that couldn’t leave a mark yet there is a remains of pain kinda

                                 Like HANAKO’S ILLNESS

So what if Yashiro was supposed to die of hanako’s sickness , and before you said she was healthy, Hanako seemed ‘Healthy’ too, Proof to Tsukasa losing Hanako’s ball to discover the evil spirit ( I may think the evil spirit gave Amane the sickness) also Yashiro was suppose to die in a year, plenty of time to get symptoms. But think about how Amane’s future being altered affected others. How the science teacher wasn’t supposed to be the science teacher. How Tsumugi had his future changed to become the science teacher. So was others affected too?

So Yahiro and Hanako’s fates are tied but like rope, once intertwined, they join together to the same end fate. But remember what happens when Yashiro doesn’t get to 'die’ because of Hanako changing her fate what happens?

                                        He ‘dies’

So what if this is a case of “Neither can live while both survives” What if one of them has to either die for the other. What if the only way to stay together is for Nene to die for hanako or something WAY worse. What if Yashiro dies anyway to bring back Hanako, cause that was always the path one of them has to take to let the other one live. What if the way to bring someone back is sacrifice for themselves? What if Yashiro and Hanako are stuck in this overcoming doom of choice. One choice. One sacrifice.                                                       One bond

        I was playing Minecraft, and I decided to go north with no materials other than the items i already had in pockets. For two REAL days I have spent my time going nothing but north. I eventually reached an ocean and I jumped in and swam…and swam… I was running out of food and just as i was about to give up and drown myself, i stumbled upon the most amazing thing i have ever seen. An island of 1 block sticking out of the ocean with a red rose resting on top. Against all odds, that one rose grew on that one block. This has given me hope, and i must believe that against all odds, I too can live on. I must keep going.
