not just elden ring! south park, hannibal and dead by daylight fandoms for example have antis as well and i will never understand how. it's such an odd mixture of hypocrisy - "i can separate fiction from reality and consume dark themes without approving or endorsing them, but you can't!" - and purism - "murder, torture, gore, genocide, abuse? a-ok! anything even a little bit sexual? no, bad and evil and filthy and unacceptable degeneracy!!" - that i don't understand how their brains don't short-circuit from the lack of self-awareness.

there's also this weird sort of...i don't know what to call it, elitism? in that they always think that the themes they're so against are okay to write/depict as long as you're an """established""" creator like, oh i don't know, GRRM or kentaro miura or stephen king, but small independent fandom creators? "noooo you can't depict Bad Things or it automatically means you condone and endorse them!!" like bro if you truly think those things are so harmful to depict then shouldn't you be more worried about something like game of thrones which has slightly bigger reach and influence than any fan artist or fic writer regardless of how popular they are?

it's all just so ridiculous and tiresome.
