Ice: you know why I actually had leggings in my bag that day we played volleyball?
Mav: why?
Ice: I was going to ballet practice.
Mav: why are you telling me this?
Ice: because no one will ever believe you.

Gotta cut loose, footloose
((cyclone x maverick))
Beau ‘cyclone’ Simpson didn’t dance. The loud music, the unnecessary body movements, he found it all obnoxious and annoying. But of course everyone has there own weakness, and his was named maverick.
Beau had just gotten off and was driving home, the last thing he would want to deal with is him but he had to answer the phone, it never was but could’ve been important.
“Hey! Maverick loudly exclaimed over the phone, “Me and the students were doing a small thing at the bar and I was just seein’ if you would wanna drive over for a few?”
Beau looked at the time and then thought for a minute, it’s late and he should be getting home. But his voice, mavericks voice, it felt enticing in a way that put him into a trance. “Yeah, I can be over” he gave in.
“Great! See ya then!”
Just like that it was gone again, that was until a few minutes later when he arrived. He walked into the bar and could immediately tell where they were with the piano screaming from across the room.
Pete lit up when he saw Beau from across the bar. “Hey!” He waved him over.
Beau walked over and sat down beside him, “I don’t think I had the chance to congratulate you on the mission”
“Thanks, it means a lot, Beau”
‘Beau’ Pete saying it repeated in his mind, his name, not his callsign, his real name echoed through Beau’s head.
“Been working so hard” rooster sang
Beau snapped out of the trance hearing the beginning of the song, and couldn’t help but enjoy the music.
Pete noticed it, even if just for a small glance, Beau was nodding his head along and moving his hands to the song.
Pete ‘maverick’ Mitchell was as flirtatious as they came and he was sure willing to show it.
There was a extra microphone, key word being ‘was’ since it’s now being occupied by maverick who had stood up and grabbed it a moment ago.
There were a few people on the floor, dancing with there partners or friends.
“Your playing so cool,
Obeying every rule”
Pete continued from where Bradley was in the song while walking closer towards Beau
“Dig way down in your heart,
Your burning, yearning, for some
Somebody to tell you
That life ain’t passing you by”
Pete took a chance and held his hand out, still smiling with the song.
Beau was hesitant. His eyes got locked on Pete’s who was looking down at him, there was a clear wave of rejection washing over his soft green eyes.
“I’m trying to tell you”
Pete was a bit shocked hearing Beau starting to sing and stand up in front of him.
“It will if you don’t even try”
Pete adjusted quickly and held the microphone in between the both of them as they both started singing louder than before.
“You can fly if you’d only cut loose,
Footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Ooh-wee Marie
Shake it, shake it for me”
They stayed like that for a bit, dancing with each other while singing the song, but it had to come to end eventually as all things did.
“Everybody cut, everybody cut,
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
(Everybody) everybody cut footloose”
The song ended with Pete put the microphone down and closing the space in between the two.
‘Maybe’ Beau though. ‘Maybe I could get used to dancing’
AN: criticism is encouraged!
