I once saw a girl talk about how the most beautiful men are often treated like women in our society (sexualized, objectified by men and women).

This made me think of Jinshi from the apothecary diaries.

Some people consider it to be creepy how much he's into Maomao despite her disgust, but I see it differently.

I believe Maomao isn't actually disgusted with him but uncomfortable with how he makes her feel. She is attracted to him but she doesn't want to accept that for a while.

More than that, she sees through his facade. The face he puts on. She knows his nice persona isn't genuine at first and she's weirded out by it. It's like when you're talking to someone and you just know they're fake as hell. And that's precisely what he likes.

Until Maomao the only "romantic" experience Jinshi had is being sexually harassed by both men and women since at least the age of 14. He learned to use it, but there's no denying that it had a lasting negative impact on his mental health (he hates that he's beautiful).

Maomao doesn't do that. She provokes him until he acts his age in her presence and she likes his authentic self (the scene where he headbutts her after she asks for oax bezoar).

He loves that. He learned to make himself smaller, dimm his own light and act precisely how others expect him to. In conculsion he objectifies himself.

But not with Maomao, it doesn't work on her. The only thing that works on her is when he's being his authentic self around her.

She truly loves him for who he is and not the face he puts on... and I think that's something that's very relatable to a lot of women in the fandom.

I've become obsessed with Genshin Impact, like ahhh, I love it so much. But I have like a long fanfic idea. Something bad happens to the traveler(male traveler) it can be as dark as you want. Anywho something bad happens, Paimon is sort of at fault. And she goes to get help and finds The Knave and Neuvillette, they come to the travelers rescue. The traveler is so traumatized that he gives up adventuring and The Knave adopts him. Neuvillette is an Uncle/Mother like figure to the traveler. Anywho, I want the fic to have four parts. Part one is directly after the trauma, he wakes up in a hospital in Fontaine, screams at paimon and refuses to see her at all through part one. Part two is him trying to mentally heal and get back to a normal routine. He becomes the little brother to others in the house of the hearth. Part three he's trying to be more sociable and go out more but trauma so it's hard for him, in this part he confronts Paimon. Part four is him figuring out what he wants to do with his life.

Anywho, here's a snippet I want as the last scene of part one.

The children of the house of the hearth sit around the fire, Aether sit on the couch, watching the fire crackle, Father as he's become to call her walks over with a hair brush.

"Aether, you said in the hospital you wanted to let your hair down." Her voice calm yet demanding, Aether's head minutely nods. She hums and gently picks up his braid, ever so softly does she untie the braid. He looks ahead at the hearth. Slowly his braid comes undone, his shoulders dropping as he relaxes. Lyney and Lynette talk softly while Freminet interjects every so often. Father softly brush Aether's hair, a quirk of her lips as she notices how relaxed he has become.

"Aether, I promise you, no harm will ever come to you in this house..." she whispers as she brushes his hair, Aether nods softly as she presses a soft paternal kiss on his hair line before leaving to sit in her chair, watching the children talk. Watching how Aether, a once strong young traveler becomes a soft shy younger brother to the other children.

Thats how I want part one to end. I came up with this idea randomly. I'm just playing Genshin and my brain went, hey what if...

So ye, I'm workin on the first chapter as we speak but that's how I want part one to end.

So I've been playing genshin, I love his game so much and I love Wander so much. His back story and his character development is so good! Like ahhhh, I love this character and his English va did such a good job with his voice!!!!!
