one of my favorite pieces of sims 2 lore is of the tricou family in the downtown subhood, and their loose connection to the “teens” family as well. I’ve resurrected the tricou’s before, but this time I did something different and made the teens playable. I did have to do some ~cheating~ and tweak them a little, but i kept their first names (sorry) and also did a little rebranding...

They’re now the Ado family (because I made up a narrative that Jon Smith Tricou had a thousand affairs and these six were some of his unfortunate kin, loosely adopted together lolllllll)

Somehow she managed to troop through the night and snag a promotion! skinny legend

good thing she got that promo because literally like an hour after coming home she gets the pregnancy twirl. and of course she took the spot right up against the wall, which made getting the photo shot very awkward 

shit, now I gotta start thinking about names for the kid

Sorry for disappearing, but real world accidentally prioritized itself. Plus, nintendo switch. BUT anyway I finally have ~content~ to share lol - a New England style triple decker! I see these everywhere in all the Boston suburbs, so why not make one? 

I’ve been cleaning up my downtown to make it look more “city” like, so I did some lot rearranging and redid the Mendoza street to make space for a row of apartments like these. Now to find a sim or two to move-in and playtest........

NEIGHBORHOOD BASED ON THE SIMS 2 INTRO - OPENING VALLEY | NO CC

Hello guys! 

Opening Valley is a town where you are sure to recognize many familiar faces! The neighborhood takes inspiration from the intro of The Sims 2, that everyone who has played the game has seen before. Every character shown in the intro has their own unique name, story, personality and relationships. Complete with descriptions for every character, the map also features all houses and public lots from the intro as well as an additional 12 unoccupied lots, and much much more!

Requirements:

This neighborhood was made in the Ultimate Collection, thus it needs ALL Expansion and Stuff Packs to work correctly.

Credits:

This map was made in its entirety by myself (and my boyfriend <3). None of the lots are premade or downloaded from other creators, however some lots do take inspiration from places in The Sims 3 (which you may recognize if you know that game well!).

Reducing loading times with the Bulk File Rename Utility (with pictures!)

Do you have tons of CC? Are your loading times atrociously long? Does your game hang for a while when you first load up a lot? Mine were, too, until I finally remembered the Bulk File Rename Utility. (I sound like an infomercial…)

This is a tutorial on how to quickly remove special characters and reduce filenames so your game loads faster. After I did this, it reduced my load times from about 7 minutes to barely 2. If your CC folders are bigger than my 6GB, it’ll probably make an even bigger difference.

In exciting news, the Dane twins finally grew up to toddlers! (Maria on the left, Violet on the right)

And uh... they’re not really the cutest kids on the block, huh. 

Also, might make the executive decision to move them into Kent’s much larger house, since he’s looking to move in with his boyfriend anyway. It’s only fair since they housed Kent in the past lol

Oops. I chose wrong on Priya’s chance card, and got her demoted literally back to level one. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
