Just reached a Person of Some Importance status today and decided to commemorate it with the first full proper art of my beloved PC - Ulie, a charming dandy detective who really should stop keeping around cursed eyeless skulls, no matter how neat she thinks they are

There's a small bunch of trivia to go through, so, uh

When I started playing originally before taking, like, half a year hiatus, it was right during the Estival, with the seventh coil. So I now heavily associate her with tigers and plan to work on that further

The main inspo for her design is, ofc, that classical 19th century dandy. But the overall vibe I've picked up comes from Sunday Driver songs, especially their Mutiny album! Can't make a character Spotify playlist just because I'll end up dumping the entire thing there.

Also here's the very first artwork of her, back in April of 2024!

Might redo it someday... not much has changed design-wise but I still dig the composition and think it deserves some more effort

Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.

I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.

Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.
