Want to draw Orrin for the IC dragon!AU. But. I already used orange for Nasuada and I kinda don't want to give him the same scale color.
Maybe I give him two colors. Orange and pink or something. He can look fancy. Thoughts?
#tho as always I might end up doing what I want anyway#not sure on horns spines etc yet either#but got an idea for wings#inheritance cycle#the world of eragon#eragon#the inheritance cycle#orrin#king orrin#me sitting in a corner and muttering to myself#au in which everyone is a dragon and nothing really bad ever happens

Eragon: I'm glad Murtagh is doing well now, he deserves to be happy
Meanwhile Murtagh: *robbed a grave, was slapped by a giant magic fish, was almost drowned and eaten, caught a cold, got into a fight and forgot to eat*

#this#tho granted it wasn’t just Nasuada stressing him about 'wasting time'#(work life balance Nasuada!!!)#but especially later the war and loss#I feel like if he invented gun powder he'd be filled with regrets a week later#actually.... everyone be glad that Galbatorix was busy finding the name#because he's the other nerd and would have done it#sry for rambling

@du-sailarar-nerilia tags!
This.
He did actually say that he'd use it for science, so; not unlikely xD
In the books, before the war gave him depression and pretty much crushed all his interests in science, Orrin actually mentioned to Nasuada that he was curious to find out if he might be capable of using magic.
And, I think it would be quite the development if he’d pick that up again later and actually have the ability? Especially with a look at Nasuada and her laws on magic.
Edit: Ugh. Nevermind one of my previous tags. I just reread one part and apparently Nasuada "allowed" Orrin free rule over Surda. EXCEPT for the law on magic. Nasuada I like you but ... seriously? -.-
#and he never really wanted the empire's throne anyway#he just made his claim for reasons he refused to/couldn't explain#(still very curious about that)#also thanks for making the combine harvester song loop in my brain :'D

I kinda love how in Inheritance, in the final battle, when they enter Eragon describes Galbatorix' flinch "as if he just woke up". And he probably thinks "oh damn he was probably deep in his thoughts with the ancient eldunarya and the dead" while Torix just wanted to take a lil nap (he hasn't slept in three days) before destroying the brat
#love this#he may have said that he gets up very early#but he never said anything about not taking power naps#power naps are great

I drew swords! Which i never really did before so they probably turned out a tad odd xD Just drew them for my fic because I felt like it. I hate drawing long straight lines. My hands are not steady enough for that, it confuses even the line stabilizer lol.
From left to right:
Second Chance - Galbatorix' changed and renamed sword (thank you for the name idea again @tonhalszendvics ! :3 ) Originally silver and purple, thanks to a certain dragon's puppy eyes it was made darker to fit said dragon.
Ithring - Murtagh's sword that isn't just renamed Zar'roc, because no one is taking Morzan's child sword from him.
Zar'roc - Morzan's sword, duh. I changed the design of the one Paolini drew a little.
Unnamed - Toma's future sword.
Link to the fic series if interested. Almost finished even: https://archiveofourown.org/series/4100485
#dug out this post because I was convinced that the swords turned out better in this one than the other#not sure anymore lol#also this fic is finished a while ago#and I kinda miss it tbh#how weird

Morzan and Selena. This is not a love story, it's a tragedy.

Drew some more of them silly fantasy swords (again) that would realistically be rather impractical lol.
From left to right; Kveykva, Zar'roc and Undbitr.
The sizes of the swords are all a little off; Galbatorix' sword is supposed to be a little longer than Morzan's and Brom's is a Zweihänder, because if he can fight with a staff in canon, he can have a long sword. The symbols for Kveykva and Undbitr are just made up by me.
This is technically for Step out of Line again.
#prev tags#don't be sorry for tha yapping#its good points#also the thing with both Galbatorix and Brom wanting revenge#and Brom simply being 'lucky' that he ended up on the 'good' side
