“Don’t be, I’m alright, I’m pretty tough.” Sam muses as he finally lets go of Jason, watching the man use every bit of acrobatic skill and gadgetry to scale and leap off of buildings. Sam thought he had found mister perfect right then and there, and he kept smiling at the other man even as he flew behind him, doing a little loop in the air just to now feel as if he was just letting Jason show off. “I mean, I’m not saying I wouldn’t sleep with you, because obviously if this date goes and well I do become future mr. red hood, it would be a thing we do. I know you have more class than that, I’m just…I’ve never done this, been on a date, kissed a guy, you’re my first everything really. I don’t wanna mess things up with you, because even if it’s silly I don’t want to lose what might be starting here. I felt it during the kiss and when you kissed me, it was like…oh wow there you are, as if I’ve been looking for that all my life. I don’t know if it makes sense.” he sighed, blushing at his own words. “That sounds kind of amazing really, maybe I can get to meet them in the future?”
“I trust that you are.” Jason never quite found himself jealous of those that could fly, enjoying the feeling of the wind in his hair while swinging building to building. He turns just in time to see the other man do a little loop. Which makes him grin, although unable to be seen due to his helmet. Sam was cute, he knew that right away, and felt bad that he couldn’t tell him who he is yet. If this keeps going well then Jason could reveal his identity. “It makes sense. I felt those things too, a spark between us. If the date goes well, and everything continues going that way between us then I’d be happy to tell you my name. My real name.” His identity is tied to his entire family, and he has to think about them too. He does a flip off a ledge, grabbing onto the fire escape to drop down below since the bar was around the corner. “I’ll tell you a secret. I don’t go on many dates. You can meet them eventually, they’re kind of a package deal. We’re here, this is the place.”

That she expected, and she was fully on board. Tipping her head, she looked significantly at her brother, the domino mask instead of helmet, the question clear. They all modified their costumes now and then, but she hoped he was still safe. A delighted laugh bubbled up at the image that inspired, and she nodded fervently. “We’ll make dad make it its own batcycle. Mod-if-ied so it can steer with its little arms!”
Jason can see the concern coming from his sister, a question asked without even using words. “What? I didn’t feel like walking all the way back to my room to get it.” Alfred probably moved it to the cave by now, but that’s where it was when they all left. “I’m okay.” He smiles as he nudges her with his elbow gently. “I like the thought of this best use of dad’s money by far. What should his vigilante name be? It has to be a really good one.” It would be funny to imagine the dinosaur as Robin actually.

“dude,“ sara started before stepping back and giving him a once over and an assessing nod. “yeah, actually it is a lot of fun and you sound like the kind of guy who’s done it once or twice,“ she let the innuendo slip despite herself and couldn’t help but smirk. “new gotham?” she repeated before groaning and rolling her eyes. “is batman here too? because i do not want to deal with his grumpy ass today.” she’d met him once or twice - at least various versions of him, and each one was a… pain to deal with. “i’m sara.”
“Batman is around somewhere, just not right here. Although, if you’ve met my father then you know that he’s the best at lurking in the shadows when nobody knows it.” He says while looking around them for a moment, just shrugging his shoulders. He laughs though, wondering what could have happened to make her call Bruce a grumpy ass. “I’m the only Bat you have right now. I’m the one who enjoys to break bones. So, I think you made a winning choice. This place is weird though, don’t really trust it. Welcome to the party, Sara. Red Hood.” He says while extending a hand.

“She did, and I miss her a lot, but I can’t see her anymore,” Sam said as his eyes darkened, sadness veiling over his features. Kissing Jason felt as if he got the same spark of life that brought the man back to life, and he knew he didn’t want to let him go, not when he felt like the closest thing to normalcy or home right now for him. It might’ve been childish or stupid to feel that way, but he couldn’t help it. “Definitely,” he mused as he put on his own helmet, and began to hover in the air flying behind Jason. “Sure thing. Want to…um, spend the night if the date goes well?” he blushed, knowing how it was already sounding. “I d-don’t mean I w-was insinuating having sex or anything, i-i’m actually a virgin.” he said choking on his words a little. “I think it’s prefect though, having you there. It’s pretty small since it’s just me, I’m…all alone.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.” Jason doesn’t have fond memories of his own mother. The excitement of finding her being alive just used as a ploy to lure him to his death. He was an expert at parkour, which makes traveling across the various buildings easy. His grapple gun is pulled out so he can swing across the large distance. He pulls himself up to the roof, putting the grappling gun away for now, as he looks over at Sam who sounds flustered under that helmet. “I would love to spend the night, sure. I wasn’t expecting you to sleep with me on the first date, Sam. I have more class than that.” Jason may have been raised on the bad side of town, but he was a romantic at heart. “All alone, huh? I wouldn’t know what that’s like. I live with six other people. It’s a packed house.”

Perched on a mid-rise building in her Black Bat suit, Cassandra squinted at the large dinosaur making its way along the streets with no heed for the destruction it caused. It wasn’t its fault it was lost, though, and after a long moment she tipped her head and spoke as confidently as ever. “I think we can tame it. No need to hurt it.” She paused, then smiled. “Bat-T-Rex.”
Jason grabbed some of his gear to follow his siblings to the scene, which is how he ended up standing next to his sister. “Damian will probably try.” He places his gloved hands on his hips, having gone without his helmet today, and only wearing his domino mask. It was weird being out during the day, but what can you do? Anything that makes Cass happy will make Jason happy too. “Bat T-Rex. We can have a mask made for it.”

there were many things in life that could not take bruce wayne by surprise. a live, legitimate tyrannosaurus rex in the middle of main street, however, could. he had his suit at the ready, but he could see his children in their gear, already handling the situation. standing back on the road and looking up, he waited.
bruce would change into the batman if necessary - or if spotted by one of said children. otherwise this would be a test. anyone else that approached him, he would be the billionaire - pretending to be fearful of the ancient creature. “impressive,” he whispered, crossing his arms over his chest.
Jason crosses his arms over his chest for a moment, staring up at the creature with a raised eyebrow. He was tired, just wanting to have one normal day, but apparently that was too much to ask in this place. He was in his gear, but only wearing a domino mask white hair covering his forehead as he plops down on the side of the street. He pulls a cigarette out of one of the many pouches to light it — taking a drag of the stick.
What he doesn’t expect to come next is seeing his father standing there. This is strange, why wasn’t he joining the fight as Batman? “I knew I should have stayed in bed today.” He groans as he takes mother drag of the cigarette, smoke blowing out into the air as he turn away from his father and to the creature.

“So this is how it feels like? Funny. Now I finally know why my mom hated me being a hero, because she couldn’t stand the thought of someone she cared about always in danger.” Sam mumbled as he leaned into his touch. “That’s easy to explain, you’ve got a purpose in this world, and you also had to meet your future boyfriend.” He giggled as he pulled Jason down to kiss him sweetly. “Good, because I want to see all of you.” Jason Todd was a very interesting man and Sam could already feel himself falling for the man. “Sounds perfect, and if it’s your favorite place then I’m sure I’ll love it, and honestly, best burgers in the city is a pretty big thing to say so you really just got me excited. I’m going to be honest, I don’t want the night to end after the bar.”
“Parents know best.” Jason can’t really argue against that, his father always knows what to do with most situations, and if he doesn’t then Alfred does. He doesn’t know how much he believes in having a purpose, but there has to be some sort of reason for being here again. If even you meet one person. The kiss comes as a surprise, but kisses him back without a thought. “Follow me, I trust you can keep up.” Jason says with a grin after they pull apart from the kiss. He puts his helmet back on, and heads across the buildings. “If you want to hang out we’ll have to go to your place. Mine isn’t an option right now.” He was living at home with his father and all his siblings after all. “What about that? We can go to yours if this date goes well.“

“It’s really just my intuition and guessing,” Sam laughed, squeezing Jason’s hand lightly. “But Mexican third eye has a much better ring to it.” he mentioned. Sam hadn’t really met anybody quite like Jason Todd, not that he knew the man’s identity at the moment. Still, he couldn’t help the way the man took his breath away from just being there. “Id’ rather you not dying, would pretty much suck since I wouldn’t be able to see you anymore, and I was kind of hoping I’d get to see a lot of you.” The boy mused. “Because I’ve got faith, and well I know what I felt when we kissed, and I for one definitely want to see what it meant. I felt sparks, like the kind they talk about in movies.” he said. “What’s your favorite place in the city? Let’s go there.”
“I promise you it won’t be easy for anyone to take me down again.” His arm lifts for one of his hands to cup the boy’s cheek, a smirk spread over his lips as he does so. “I’ve already been murdered once, got resurrected by some unknown force like something out of a shit zombie movie — my hands dogging my way out of six feet of dirt. I don’t plan on having to do that ever again, so you’ll see a lot of me.” Jason comes with lots of baggage, but hopefully Sam wouldn’t mind. “You know there‘s this sports bar in town hidden between some buildings that serves some of the best burgers in the city. It’s actually sort of nice, not too trashy. What do you say?” He says as he shifts which arm his helmet is resting under.

“Call it my Mexican third eye,” Sam laughed, knowing that it was mostly just intuition and something that his mom would’ve called him being able to bullshit his way out of anything. Sam did have access to a different set of powers within his nova helmet, that weird magical sword he could summon from that one adventure. Now he was a mix of alien technology and magic, and he didn’t really know how to explain it other than it looked cool. “It’ll be the next big thing before you know it,” Sam said as he leaned on Jason, kissing his arm sweetly. “Well, I just revealed my identity to you, but I’m kind of all alone now so there’s nobody they could use to hurt me. Except maybe you.” the boy smiled. “But I’ll protect you, Red Hood.” he grinned. “I do. I want to get to know my future boyfriend better.”
“I see.” Jason continues to grin, looking over at the man he was standing here with. “We can call it that if that’s what you want to do.” He couldn’t be surprised by much anymore, being murdered by a clown was more than enough to make him question how fair the world truly is. There was a certain admiration for seeing what people can do, but Wonder Woman would always be his favorite. The bond he was forming here with Sam is different though. The kiss to his arm makes him blush, what was happening to him? “I already died once, I don’t mind doing it again, but I appreciate you protecting me.” Jason admits as he looks at the other, and thinking why not? “Alright let’s go on that date. You’re a confident one, and I like that. You just met me, what makes you so sure that you’ll be my boyfriend? Other than the fact we have great chemistry.” He pauses for a moment. “Where do you want to go?”

“I have, though I haven’t had to make one recently,” she’d been on a solo mission, saving someone in the middle of the artic when she’d learned how to build one, and although the memory was fuzzy due to being so long ago, she had remembered the valuable skill. It was when Jason was like this that she could see the tiny thirteen year old again. The one who looked at her the way Dick Grayson looked at Superman. It was still a shock to see Bruce’s kids all grown up. When Jason found a spot, Diana closed the space between them, pulling out her sword as she knelt down. She hoped Clark wouldn’t mind them building this on his piece of land, “I want you to smooth the edges of the blocks I’ll be cutting out,” she instructed, before plunging her sword into the ice.
There wasn’t many people that could see this side of Jason, reserving it for those that truly deserve it. He tries to come off as this tough guy, but those that really got to know him can tell that it was an illusion to some extent. Jason was soft underneath his rough exterior. He always looked up to Wonder Woman, she was his favorite superhero in the world — still to this day too. It would be a nice addition to the fortress, surely Superman would find a use for an igloo. He smiles as he kneels down too, smoothing out the edges as instructed. “This doesn’t seem so hard! If the weather wasn’t so shitty this might even be considered fun! Did you know that there are several different kinds of igloos? Some of them even house over twenty people inside! I think that’s interesting, thinking the families actually live in them.”

the last thing sara remembered was being on the ship with her crew, she’d went to bed, slept well enough, and woke ready to start the day in another era and time - except when she woke she wasn’t on the ship, but she was in another era and time. even another place. “what the fu-” she whispered, pushing herself off the ground and suddenly realizing she wasn’t in her comfy fluffy pajamas but was actually in her white canary suit. frowning, she started towards the nearest person all but ready to demand information from them. “i don’t know what’s going on, but someone here has better have a damn good explanation before i start breaking some skulls, got it?”
“Oh! Are we breaking skulls? I would love to be part of that activity. I find the sound of bones breaking to be calming.” Jason admits, more interested in this conversation than anything else. He wasn’t even in his suit right now, civilian clothes unfortunately, but didn’t hesitate to let his opinion be known on the subject. “Welcome to New Gotham!” He says gesturing to the area all around them. Jason doesn’t have an explanation for what brought any of them here, but with new people continuing to show up hopefully they can find some answers.

“Of course, and I know we just met but I’ve got a good sense about these things. You’d be really good with people, kids especially I think.” Sam mused, looking over the other man and smiling. Although Sam knew very well what the hero’s life cost, as normality was more fantasy for them than it would anyone else. He could really get used to kissing this man. “Red Nova, that could be our thing,” he giggled, leaning on jason’s arm. “I’ve already been unmasked in public by a villain, so I don’t really fear my identity being revealed if it’s already out there.” he shrugged. “Let’s just say I made a lot of dumb choices when I was younger, got myself pretty hurt by not listening.” his voice got low but he brightened up quick as Jason spoke. “We should probably stop patrolling and go on a date, get to know each other more.”
“You have some kind of sixth sense about these situations?” Jason asks which wouldn’t be the weirdest thing to happen. He was fascinated by anyone with powers — the only thing he could do was summon magical swords. Although that wasn’t something to brag about necessarily. Jason has died once before which makes him know the risks of this life as the worst has already happened to him. “Red Nova has a ring to it.” He admits, a hand on his hip while they talk. “I wouldn’t say it’s dumb, can’t always control what the bad guys do. My mentor made a point to stress to US that you only reveal your identity to those you trust. So, mine isn’t public knowledge. I’m more reckless about that than the others, but you want to go on a date, huh? Right now?”

turning to give jason a significant look, he let out a sigh as he cast his gaze up towards the sky. “knowing him? probably.“ he huffed before glancing down towards the icy ground. no one knew bruce’s guarded begrudging friendship with clark more than his kids. “jason, i’m fine,” he started before sighing once more and giving his second eldest a tired smile. “these are just trials we’ll have to get ourselves over and through, that’s all. whoever or whatever did this, we’ll be fine. i promise.” he paused and raised a brow, “an igloo?”
Jason pushes his hands into his pockets, staying close to Bruce with the terrible weather. Ice was everywhere, and he wasn’t a fan of being this cold. “Well it feels like we have been out for hours, Superman has had his amusement.” He pouts, sounding like a child with his whining. It might be the fact there was nothing to do that makes him do so. The smile received from Bruce makes the boy smile again too — maybe they will be okay after all. “I hope you’re right.” His simile only grows wider at his father’s confusion. “Yeah! An igloo! She promised to tell me stories from Themyscira. You can listen too, but nobody else is invited! NO ONE.” He was like that ten year old boy again, still in awe of Wonder Woman after all this time.
